  • Somebody help! The ACLU is defending the establishment of cause of the constitution! Oh, wait, isn't that what everyone should be doing? It must suck to have your Cristian and heterosexual privileges attacked on basis of ethics and the constitution.

  • Is this man sickened by himself in the mirror too!

I think the sound track is from SNL.

    Get a grip

  • American Communnists Lawyers Union or Anti Christian Lawyers Union

  • we watched this at school today lol

  • I find it very hilarious that Fox News Channel now has a laugh track XP

  • WOW a clinton cheating joke, how fresh can you get.

  • I have read hundreds of letters by Thomas Jefferson, now I do not recall mention of any displays in or around US Government facilities. Jefferson, a Deist who believed not in Jesus' divinity but in his philosophy, might have had a problem with such religious displays sponsored by the government and most certainly would have objected to the Ten Commandments hanging in any official building. He eliminated the Old Testament from his own bible. Reason was the measure of the day, not religion.

  • Did you know that the capitol building was used as a church on Sundays all the way up to, and for a short time after the Civil War. Thomas Jefferson was a regular attendee when he was in the capitol.

  • what's striking about these ACLU clips is how joke free they are. Not even an attempt at humor.

    Sarcasm does not equal comedy.

  • Oh, but it does.

  • Its absurd that they did that. People came to America from England for religious freedom and now because of the nutcase athiests we can't be religous.

  • Believe it or not, there's irony. 'Cuz of the Jesus-freaks in America, some secularists immigrate to England for their generally sound judgement & more tolerance of diversities.

What makes America a shithole unlike most nations is that while it boasts advanced development in education, technology, and social structure, its people still comfortably abide by crude reasoning & prejudice response.

One would expect such behavior among jungle tribes.

  • If you think America is a shithole, and most other nations are, then what kind of dipshit are you to stay here? Why don't you leave, so we *ahem* I mean you, can be happier.

  • Read your Constitution. 1st Amendment. It's there with good reason.

  • At least the ACLU are zombies in An American Carol!

  • The good Ole "American Comunist Lovers Union"

  • i did not know that the constitution is a communist document

  • Our constitution is becoming a socialist document by the day. By the time our good buddy BHO is done with it, it will be a fluid document.

  • it was becoming a socialist FAR before Obama took office, this goes back many Presidents

  • A.C.L.U.--"Athiest Coalition Litigating Unrest." Also--"All Criminals Love Us".

  • haha, I love it.!

  • sometimes it's hard to tell whether people mean what they say on youtube comments...

  • not enough conservatives on youtube

  • aclu bad American tradition good

  • This show failed miserably because it was poorly written and based on bullshit, instead of facts, as this video proves.

  • and you wonder why Hardball, the keith olberman show, and all the other liberal shows that are also based on BS dont fail miserably, I guess Satan must have a real powerful plan for them

  • Satan?

    LOL!!

Nice to see the dipshit class is channeling the Church Lady.

  • Why shouldn't I be repetitive when you refuse to provide any proof for your paranoid rants?

  • anecdotes are for people who don't have verifiable statistics to back up their arguments. You are being manipulated by scumbags like John Gibson and Bill O'Reilly who spred this kind of paranoia for profit.

  • Who's stopping you from enjoying Christmas? Stop regurgitating meaningless victim-tripe from scumbags who only seek to manipulate your emotions. If some store clerk wishes me happy holidays instead of merry christmas, it doesn't take away my ability to enjoy christmas. why do you allow it to take away yours?

  • proof, not baseless allegations. This "war on christianity" myth is just nonsense perpetrated by scumbags who profit by playing the victim and swallowed hook, line and sinker by gullible buffoons.

BTW, what part of "a few isolated instances" did you not understand?

  • Man this show SUCKS BALLS. I mean..I can take political banter but this is just GARBAGE. Result?? Canceled after ONE SHOW haha.

  • War on Christmas = Phoney Strawman for Foxtards to beat up on and feel like they've actually accomplished something. O'Reilly claiming that he "won" the "war on Christmas is like me declaring war on Unicorns then claiming I won.

Have you seen a Unicorn lately? No? That's because I RULE!!!

  • I could give two squirts of piss about fox, but those court cases presented in the videos did happen and are 100% right.

  • get serious. In a nation of 300 million people, you can find an example or five of just about any kind of behavior. But it's the jerkoffs on Fox who decided to cash in on a Chicken Little story of their own creation by blowing this stupidity into a full blown "war."

  • Oh you mean like Abu Grabe -- 45 days above the line on the front page of the NY Times? 5 lefty twits out of 180,000 soldiers, pulling panties over a few terrorist heads and you feminized men get all caught up in a frenzy. No wonder your so confused....

  • is it possible for you to stick with the topic being discussed? In case you need a reminder, we are talking about a Fox News show about the supposed ACLU "War on Christmas." What the fuck does the NYT and Abu "Grabe" have to do with it? You dolts just love to change the subject a lot.

  • Let me give you a totally ridiculous analogy. In just about a year, Larry Craig, Ted Haggard and Mark Foley all got busted for *attempting* to do some rather unconventional things with their penises.

Would it be fair for me to look at only these three instances and conclude that The Republican Party is Waging a War on Heterosexuality?

  • Aha Larry Craig plaid footsie with some guy, Mark Foley got cut chatting to a minor online and dumbocrat Barney Frank confessed to running a Bi-Sexual WHORE house out of his apartment.

Those things aside, I don't see how they have anything to do with letting us celebrate Christmas. Typical liberal logic.

  • sorry the point went above your head. Let my try and dumb it down for you. The point is that you can find a few issolated instances of any kind of behavior and make it appear to be some kind of huge epidemic or trend. But that doesn't make it so. There is NO EVIDENCE for a "war on christmas" just more rightwing paranoia and manipulation.

  • You sir have a problem with reality.

The cases discussed in the videos did happen. They are 100% true, the results will enable secularists and atheists to attack Christianity. If you have trouble understanding that you're a moron.

  • you have no clue how to deal with reality. The video talked about one case only. That does not make it a "war." The fact that you are unable to tell the differnece between a few issolated instances and a trend, tells me that you are either being dishonest for partisan reasons, or just plain stupid. Which is it?

  • Err you keep saying war war war, did I mention some eleberate war on Christmas?

  • actually, you responded to a post I made talking about how the whole "war on Christmas" hype was a bunch of bullshit. So you engaged me on the subject. The entire video was a knock off of O'Reilly and Gibson's phony War on Christmas hype. If you didn't already know that, then I am obviously wasting my time talking to someone who is way to ill-informed to be discussing this issue.

  • What planet are you on? Talk about denial. The ACLU has been suing cities, counties, towns and the federal government all over the country to get the "Christian Cross" off public property. Whether they win or lose they get reimbursed their legal fees by the government they sued. Wake up... You live in a religious community call the United States. Get some tolerance. Have some balls to stand up to those that want to destroy this country. Stalin had a word for people like you, "Useful Idiots."

  • Show me the actual statistics, not just baseless allegations of a few isolated instances. and toss in proof that the ACLU get reimbursed their legal fees. I smell bullshit. No one is trying to do away with religion, just have it not be taxpayer supported. Grow up, psycho.

  • BTW, Hairball. Please explain to me how one court case preventing the display of religious icons on taxpayer supported land somehow constitutes a "war on christmas?"

  • by the way, Frank never admitted to running a whore house out of his apartment. His room mate in his homestate did that while he was away in Washington. As soon as he found out what was happening, he kicked the dude out and self=reported to Congress. They investigated and found that Frank did nothing wrong. Try to keep your facts straight.

  • ROFL, riiight, Frank had nothing to do with it.

I suppose next you'll tell me that the Monica Lewinsky thing was cooked up by the vast right wing conspiracy.

  • I see that you are opposed to looking up facts and would just rather repeat regurgitated propaganda that you read from fellow wingnuts on rightwing blogs. So be it. No one expects your type to care much for facts anyway.

  • And ohhh yeah, I could give two squirts of piss about the republican party.

I vote for individuals who best represent me and my values and not parties.

  • how long did this piece of shit show last? Why is it that rightwing assholes have no sense of humor? This is so far from right and/or funny. This is what you get when you give some rightwing 15 year olds a pen, paper and video camera.

  • Funny?

I think the ACLU is scary.

    That video is 100% true.

  • two points: First this show was an attempt by Fox to provide a rightwing alternative to The Daily Sho. In other words, it's supposed to be funny but failed miserably at it. Second, you fear of the ACLU is not based in fact but on selected exagerations from O'Reilly and other professional liars.

  • When an organization like the ACLU promotes Communism by tearing down the fundimentals of America, yet sometimes they do some good -- does that make them legitimate?

  • No.

  • That cow is oppressing me man! And don't get me started on the donkey.

  • How is putting up a nativity scene violating the first amendment?

    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

Setting up a nativity scene is not passing a law establishing a religion.

  • Critics of the nativity scene on public property (and similar issues) argue that it is an endorsement of a religion by allowing such scenes on public property. There's a long line of U.S. Supreme Court cases on this type of issue and basically outlining what is or is not endorsement of a religion. It took up a semester class when I was in law school. I'm not saying I agree with the line of cases, though.

  • By allowing nativity scenes on public property is not endorsing a religion but endorsing all religions.

  • The question still remains. If congress is making no law to establish that religion, (Read the wording: CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW), how is setting up a nativity violating the constitution? Congress made no law. And where does it say that the government cannot endorse a religion? Please show me those exact words in the constitution.

  • The spirit, as well as the letter, of something as important as the Bill or Rights must be adhered to. Of course, the spirit is a more gray area. It's important to read other writings by the founders and framers at the time, read what Jefferson thought about religion being endorsed by gov't.

  • Look at the fight for civil rights. Blacks were having their Constitutional Rights violated, even though Congress had not officially passed a law violating them... If the president issued an 'edict' that all religious folks should be locked up, that would be unconstitutional under 1st Amendment as well, even though Congress passed no law.

  • I bet they would complain if there was a monorah (spelling?) in the town square.

  • that's acutally a great commercial for the ACLU! Read you first amendment, people (like the man said) -- it's UNConstitutional for the gov't at any level to establish (or favor or promote) any religion over another, or any religion over NO religion. God Bless the ACLU!

  • Wait a minute, does the ACLU believe in God? The problem is that "no religion" is as much of a religious stance as having a religion. Getting rid of all religious imagery is not neutral. It's certainly not what was contemplated by the drafters of the Constitution.

  • By allowing nativity scenes on public property is not endorsing a religion but endorsing all religions.

  • How exactly is a nativity (a strictly and exclusively christian symbol) endorsing ALL religion? That's nonsense. And besides, most western (and eastern, actually) religions fall within one big religion: THEISM. Mono-, poly-, pan-, etc. Still religion, and its gov't endorsment/ establishment forbidden by the first amendment.

  • When a religion is removed from a public place is when government favors one religion over another.

  • Ummm... how's that? That's the most creative interpretation of the establishment clause I've heard yet. And certainly you're not going to trot out the "atheism/secularism are religions", are you? Please explain your baffling comment.

  • You are obviously godless like me. Our godless philosophy can be considered a religion. It is not a question of organization just belief. By allowing religious expression is in no way government establishing religion. They accept our godless beliefs why should we not accept theirs? I am not a fascist. I am tolerant. There is no proof either way. When government endorses only one religion or belie - then we have a problem. Anyway it seems the more secular this country becomes the more it degrades

  • Lack of religion is not a religion. Just like NOT stamp collecting is NOT a hobby. I'm not expecting anyone to "accept" my secularism, it's inscribed in the Constitution as law. And the proof FOR god is NOT equal to the proof against god. God cannot be disproven, just like the invisible elf under your bed cannot be, but the chances of him existing are very very slim.

  • Religion is a philosophy... so what you are saying is you have no set of values or principals to guide your life. You live life with no judgment, indiscriminately. If I can sue Government for being "Offended" by a religious expression then I must have a philosophy based on something other than God. A nation is a community bonded by like-mindedness. 90% of Americans believe in God our laws are premised in Judeo Christian laws and you want to whine? Thank God for God. It's uniquely human.

  • Where to begin? Our morality does not come from scripture. Morality predates any text, and changes with every decade for entirely secular reasons. Are you saying the only reason you don't rape or kill is because you're afraid of the celestial punishment? Pretty lousy reason. Morality is available to us all. And for our laws, read the Constitution. No mention of god. They were written by largely secular, enlightened men that knew morality can, and should, stand apart from any fictional god.

  • Religion and laws organize our morality. They are given shape and form... an order of importance fine tuned generation after generation. New ideas of morality such as same sex marriage and abortion have to work its self out and this is where religion plays an important role. Civilization depends on guidance from a higher power and a communal agreement. Government serves people and people serve the word of God (higher power) Heaven and hell is the aggregate and duration of memories left behind.

  • I genuinely find what you're saying very interesting, and well put. I'll give it some thought. When our species was primitive and ignorant of biology, the cosmos, psychology, etc., it made sense that we invented supernatural explanations. It no longer makes sense. We can, and should, understand morality ourside religion. And, even if religion makes us moral, it is in no way evidence that it is true, or that god exists.

  • Oh, and secularism doesn't degrade society. On the contrary, it creates diverse, democratic and just ones. RELIGIOUS rule degrades society, turning back the clock to (not suprisingly) bronze-aged dark times. The most secular countries, & the ones with secular founding documents (like the US Constitution) are the most democratic, fair to women and minorities, and the most just. And vice versa.

  • Your argument is defending a principle in which I believe. America should not be governed by any established religion. Europe is substantially secular and is dying a slow death with little hope trying to save itself by electing conservative leaders and rejecting socialist (godless) programs. Government should not regulate or repress religion nor should it endorse A religion. But any so-called religion that imposes itself onto others with violence either must be reformed or vanished by might.

  • without secularism, there is no freedom.

  • No government is instituted to protect all people. Seculars and the Religious alike.

Religious people live by a set standards and morals. You can tell where they are coming from -- a Judeo Christian, Hindu or Muslim background. Most religions have gone through a reformation. Islam has not...yet they are starting to. Secularist can be Communist, Fascist, nationalist, tyrants, dictators etc. Secularist has caused more murders and misery than all religions through out history combined.

  • yeah, those dirty ACLU bastards forcing the federal, state, and local governments to uphold the first amendment. It makes me sick to think of what our first 100% true Christian president (Andrew Jackson) must be thinking. But whatever it is, it probably involves killing more indians.

  • Amen!

  • "he cant reacall faiths last name"

come on you gotta admit, that was funny

  • It totally was!

  • This isnt funny...

  • yes it is

  • The ACLU is retarded

  • Damn guys, can't take a joke?... It was funny... Just laugh every once in a while. As you can see, it was meant to be a comedy act. So chill.

  • Oh I can laugh, but only at things that are actually fuuny. I even thought the Clinton joke at the end was kinda funny. But it's just so one-sided that it's clear they are pushing an agenda under the guise of "having a few laughs" and it's borderline disgusting.

  • this is like jon stewart, but shit. a satrical news show on a "real news" channel. shows us what kind of world we're living in.

  • I'm sorry, it's just that Fox News presents such an unfair and unbalanced view of the ACLU on a regular basis. Just Google "ACL Michigan Yearbook" or "ACLU IOWA Christian Literature School" for examples of the ACLU DEFENDING expressions Christianity. So in closing...

Fox News sucks, and the Half Hour News Hour sucks it even harder!

  • They completely missed the point. Ths ACLU isn't sick of Nativity scenes, or suggests that they're immoral. What the ACLU is saying STATE funds shouldn't However, the ACLU thinks GOVERNMENT money shouldn't spent for RELIGIOUS celebrations. Why, you ask? Probably because of that whole "seperation of church and state" thing mentioned in the U.S. Constitution.

  • Rexmax, can you help me find where ""that whole "seperation of church and state" thing"" is in the Constitution?

  • Sure I can mouse! It's in the First Amendment...

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..."

and so on a so forth. Most people know of it as "seperation of church and state".

  • so would that include ceremonial footbaths in public schools?

  • I know this trick and I'm not getting into all kinds of hypothetical situations. As mentioned in the video, the government decided to appropriate funds for a Nativity scene, and that's passing a law "respecting an establishment of religion".

But really, who gives foot baths in school?! Shouldn't they be in class learning something more useful?

  • RexMax, here is an article you should read, especially the end. If the aclu has their way, we will be "permanently changing your architecture for one religious group". In fact if I can read the hw'ing OTW. The first time a poor poor muslim falls down & busts his ass washing his feet in the sink there is going to a Landmark lawsuit. Then every f'in bldg in America will have to have footbaths. thank you aclu.

  • sorry, here is the link.

    nwanews com/adg/national/197233/

  • Interesting article, mouse. The problem lies in the fact that it's you and the article's author who are labeling the footbaths as "Muslim" and "ceremonial". Michigan's stance, however, is that footbaths are there only to provided people a convenient way to clean their feet, for whatever reason. As there as there are no religious adornments, the footbaths are no more an endorsement of Islam than the bathroom sink, which someone may use for baptisms, is an endorsement of Christianity.

  • As for the end of the article, it pertained only to the school NOT allowing the students to even use the conventional sink for religious reasons. The ACLU made similar statement supporting a minister that wanted to perform baptisms in a public lake. Just as the law can't endorse a religion, it also can't prohibit a person from practicing religious activities (with reason, of course). This is also mentioned in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

  • LOL, the ACLU sucks!
