Pairing this great song together with images of Turkey is as brilliant as coloring Shirley Temple's 'Good ship lollypop' song with the First-response photos of the Sharon Tate murder.
I'm a big fan of the Bee Gees. The producer who helped so much to give them/ develop for them their signature sound (Saturday Night Fever and afterwards, I think) was the music producer Arif Mardin. He was Turkish- from Istanbul, Turkey. I saw a video where one of the Bee Gees referred to Arif's beautiful Turkish accent. Arif is in the Recording Academy's Hall of Fame. Unfortunately I think he passed away.
Can 1 country have so much beauty? What beautiful places! This video is almost genius. Great to put the images of Turkey with this song by America- I'm an American & I LOVE the song 'Ventura Highway' & the band America. Seeing this slideshow with this song can give a person a feeling of wanting to travel. Even more, when u put the song by the group 'America' with such beautiful images from Turkey it makes u feel how deeply a Turkish person can feel for his or her country. Anyone for their home.
Beautiful scenes of TURKiYE ( TURKEY ) to this music. I've been to TURKiYE - it's a wonderful country with lots of rich history and culture including very friendly people. Had a great time. Hope to be back soon !
What a great band from the past. The song is beautiful and ageless. Reminds me of growing up in lovely summers. Jean U K. Bless you fthe inspirational pictures
Absolutely Amazing!!! I Want to go to "TURKEY" - SERIOUSLY!!! It looks lovely and so enchanting. What a marveleous compilation of nature and old world meets a modern one, with respect to keeping the true essence of the country. Kudos to you on a wonderful array of photos that you've combined for this awesome song-"YOU ROCK" :) I seriously have to call a travel agent, because , now I want to go to TURKEY!!! Yeah! :) Thanks for sharing your memories-You Must Be A "PRO-PHO-TOG," Huh!?! Hmmm
Janet Jackson sampled this for her 2001 hit, "Someone To Call My Lover".
I looked this up after someone mentioned it on a forum about the meaning of Prince's Purple Rain song. Someone said this is the earliest song to use that phrase @ 4:45
On Dec. 27, 2007, my cousin lost her battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. At her funeral, this was played during a picture montage of her life. Pam, you were such an inspiration to your family and friends during this ordeal which was incredible. You displayed a strength that all of us were lacking, even though you were the one facing death. You were loved by everyone. We love you and miss you, but you are at peace now.
@airbus340driver Thank you. She was someone special. She left behind two daughters, both of whom have struggles of their own. The older daughter has two sons, 7&5, both of whom have autism. The younger daughter had a girl last Wednesday, July 21, from an emergency C-section and she has been diagnosed with CMV. Please keep them in your prayers. Both Pam and I were both adopted into a loving family. We have been so blessed.
@commander554 Thank you. Today is March 1, which would have been her birthday (1958). She was placed up for adoption at birth. My aunt and uncle adopted her 1 year later.

Beautiful land. "Midnight Express" starring Brad Davis gave Turkey a very negative spin. Hopefully, things have improved since then.

@edcerino Actually it's both..And a damn fine band as well. It depends upon the context in which you speak of it.

@edcerino NORTH America is a continent, however America is short for United States of America, and you know it. Buzz off.
