@aligindahous3 Click on the Apple icon in the left upper corner of your screen > select "About This Mac" > see if you have Intel Core processors (64bit/34bit) > if not then there's your problem since you MUST have Intel-based processors to run Snow Leopard or Lion Os's.

Other than that, I don't know what else to tell you except ensure that there's enough space on the Mac HD

@Pvtchrislee07 Highlight the file you're trying to burn > click "Verify" at the top left corner of the Disc Utility window (then wait for results) > If it's okay then do the same procedure for the DVD that you inserted.

If everything is okay then you should be able to start installing, but if you failed the verification then you might've downloaded some corrupted files and you'll have to start all the way over.

Easy Fix! Just download to Superdrive and it will burn to blank dvd perfectly. I recommend Verbatim blank dvds as I got errors with TDK (wasted 4 disc).

after 15 minutes of installing ... IT STOPPED, a MESSAGE something like:

"clean the surface of the disk and try again"

so I did, but it gave me the same message, insisted a couple of times, no reaction

• burned another disk ... this one showed on the finder but didn't open at all !!

• burned another disk ... same as above

For all of those who are having issues with burning you DO want to burn it to the SuperDrive. The SuperDrive IS your dvd burner (google SuperDrive if you don't believe me), and it does work...vote up please so people don't continue to have issues.

@benjo23bautista Just follow his instructions at 2:00. Just insert the DVD R DL, then go to finder (or spotlight) and type in disk utility, open disk utility, click the burn button, find your file and click burn...superdrive should be the default burning device.

@lucecita1586 You do need to buy a DVD R DL for this...Well you can use a USB but you have to format so that your mac recognizes it as a disk and not a external storage device, I read somewhere you can do that but haven't tried it. What I was saying is that you need to burn the file onto the DVD R DL with the superdrive.

Anyway, I clicked on utilities at the top status bar and clicked on Disk Utility. From there, I verified both the disk permissions and the disk itself, and as to my surprise they were BOTH in need of repair!

So, after running repairs, I booted up from the Macintosh HD drive and BAM! My desktop loaded up on Mac OSX version 10.6.

Oh my God, I forgot the most important part. I grew a pair, and took the risk to burn the CD from the disk utility with my SUPERDRIVE and had a flawless install.

So here's where it got tricky. On restart, it booted up, got to the apple logo, and a blue screen appeared and I was able to use my trackpad to move the cursor around.

After 15 minutes of waiting for the default space desktop background to appear, I decided to hold in my power button and reboot. I held the option key on start up, and booted up from the install disk I made with this video.

Well, it booted up to this install window, I clicked utilities up at the top, and...crap, ran out of space.

Followed every step to the letter. I went out and paid 14.48 for a 5-pack of DVD +R DL's, downloaded the torrent with Vuze, opened Disk Utility, clicked Burn, navigated to the Snowleopard_userdvd.dmg, it burned without an error, and opened up the install window right after. All I had to do was click install, and after the bar finished I was told to Restart.

Now, here it got a little tricky, and I'm running out of space so I'll recomment.

@wenwbaby Hey mate highlight the file you want to burn ( so it should be highlighted blue) then go to the file menu, up the top left hand corner of the screen, (it will be next to finder, and near the apple). Click on file and it should have the option there, "to burn to disk"  third or fourth last option down the file menu. Hope this helps.
