The tears were happy tears for her success. She doesn't cry every time she sings it. The song is a perfect country song written about a life experience. She is very hurt by what happened. No act that was a packed live awards show audience that gave her a standing ovation for that performance. The fans loved it too as she won a CMA Award for that performance as well. OH,& the acting ability...she already has her own TV show in the works.

If you saw Kellie on the Ellen DeGenerous show in Jan 08 she talks about this performance. She said the song is always emotionally difficult for her to sing but that night her emotions were combined with the realization of her success and the fact that she is performing on the same stage as all of her musical idols.
