Draw you attention to the film clips in the desert. Unoriginal!- a thing called pink floyd live in Pompei. Wolfmother have copied everything from that movie. from the copious amounts of gear, same mics, strips of tape on the drum skins, the sound guys delibratley in the shot, even right down to panning shot of the back of the amps. I just can't stand the fact that they get all this attention for clearly recycled stuff, no one has a clue.

I disagree. Although you clearely can see the connection, the sound is different. Wolfmother doesn't really need to purify its style to be a great band. It's ignorant to accuse them of trying to be multiple bands. As they say in the vid, there are lots of different interests within the band, which manifests itself in their music. That makes them hybrid, not hybris.

i think they're beautiful and they're not "confused about who they are trying to sound like," they just have the sound of good psychadelic rock music... geneneral late 60's/70's rock. You could compare it to Zeppelin, Sabbath, Free, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Blue Cheer, Atomic Rooster, Savoy Brown, Cream, the Who... just good rock music. It's tasteful and they're jams are creative and interesting.

They're gods of modern music, that's for sure.

Zep would NEVER appear on Connan or the Letterman show, and although they did have a promo video it was nothing like a music video and I doubt it would recieve as much airplay as the Wolfmother video for Woman. And Zeppelin wouldn't release singles for radio play.

Yes, it's their own sound--comprised of several hard rock bands of the 70s. If you listened to those bands, i.e. Sabbath, Zeppelin, you'll automatically see the connection. They need to find one voice instead of trying to be multiple hard rock bands of the 70's.

With that being said, I enjoy their raw, basic, and brutal sound. They are a Stoner Metal band.
