ppl here talking shit about silva piss me off.sonnen cant beat silva u dumbasses he was on performance enhancing drugs and silva's ribs were injured they were not broken but definitely injured.i have the fuckin dvd of ufc 117 and i watched that fight many times afterwards before silva mentions his ribs were look at his breathing and the way he was standing.he looked like he had fucked up ribs.u guys are just bitches whp cant accept silva is a beast.
i dont like anderson silva... he sucks, when he fight demian maia at ufc 112, and chael sonnen OWNED him in ufc 117.. i like fighter that getting better and better every fight.. and i dont like the attitude of anderson silva!!
@xopawxopaw Yeah, Chael owned Silva right into a submission. You should HOPE that Silva doesn't improve his wrestling, because if he does, he will be entirely unbeatable.
@quathar Well you said if anderson improves his wrestling he will become entirely unbeatable. I was just noting that he happened to be outstruck by Sonnen. Who is not even considered a great striker.
@pocketfullofstones if you actually watched the fight you'd notice there was very little striking, and what there was anderson definitly had the upper hand, chael couldnt last a round standing with silva..yes chael had more ground strikes, but half of them were just him slapping anderson in the face and doin absolutely no damage...say what you want but anderson beat a guy who was on steriods with broken ribs, he is a monster
@pocketfullofstones You do realize that improving your wrestling makes you less afraid for the takedown, and so it's easier to avoid that overhand right/fake tdshot that wrestlers like doing? Sonnen didn't outstrike him either, he got a couple of good shots in because is intelligently enough pressed Silva. In the 3 round when Silva got looser (as he does when he get's the feel for his opponent), he almost knocked Sonnen out with that elbow. Also, Silva was injured and Sonnen was on peds. ;)
@quathar Silva did land a few good things standing. Like that spinning back kick and that over-hand elbow strike. But Sonnen clearly won the stand-up all told. The threat of takedowns is just part of the game of striking in MMA. How good you are at that game is how good you are at striking in MMA.
@pocketfullofstones Sonnen had an excellent gameplan and was probably the worst match-up for Silva, even though it seems that Silva was injured before the match, and that Sonnen was on peds. "Owned him standing up" is a gross misrepresentation though, since there hardly was enough time standing up to determine that, again, which Sonnen wisely made sure of. But at the end of the day, Sonnen got submitted, even though he was controlling the fight. That's the ultimate ownage if anything.
@quathar Sonnen won the standup THAT NIGHT. What might happen in a 5 round K-1 match is irrelevant. Silva won and good for him, but let's not distort what actually happened simply because you might be a fan of one guy and not the other.
Silva's injury and the ped thing is just speculation. All we have to go on is what actually happened in the fight.
@pocketfullofstones I totally agree. Silva rocked Sonnen just once with elbow strike. Sonnen got Silva rocked twice. I suspect that Sonnen is a better boxer than Silva peds or no peds. Silva is a great muai thai striker, not boxer. Have you seen his training with Freddie Roach? He doesn't even have the boxing skills of an amateur boxer. Jake Shields, G.S.P. and Sonnen can surely beat him.
@pocketfullofstones 2 factors also came into being. Sonnen used streroids, and Silva fought with a Brocken Rib, that surely affected SIlva's entire game. I'd love to see rematch with Sonnen off the roids, and a healthy Anderson Silva. I think in a rematch, SIlva would get a more decisive victory.
@pocketfullofstones He didn't win the standup for me. Was far to close too call as I remember it, including that sick elbow that was close to knocking sonnen out. The injury isn't speculation, since Silva himself said that his/a doctor didn't wan't him to fight with the bruized ribs. You could call him a liar if you want, but that would then instead be speculation. Even if you say the submission was "lucky", Silva seems to get "lucky" a lot. Wonder why that is.
Nice videos, flawless fighter. But I don't get that weight training...first superset is repeated 3 times and those other 3 superstes are repeated too??
@Submitguru Anderson Silva is the Best after there are a few great fighters.
You see I love GSP he is one of my favorite fighter. But I still think Anderson Silva is a better fighter P4P.
I don't see why I have to hate someone in order to like someone else.
AS, GSP, Lyoto, Shogun, Maia, Chuck, Forrest, Belfort, Rashad, BJ Penn, Fitch, even Lesnar ... they all deserve our respect. There are a few that we don't like.
@travismonds So much HATE in your heart. So little respect. You may dislike the guy, that's cool... but what with the HATE ? Is bad for you ! Channel this anger to your productive side and you will go very far.
He is a champion ! How about you ? probably not. 'Cause if you were, you would understand what it takes to be one, and would respect him for it.
