Try reseting it by holding top button and home button for probably 5-10 seconds. If it doesn't work then you should go 2 apple

It sucks...I have to bring it to apple store...but hell it's really far!

jailbreak your ipod it helped me, mine crashed every day and now not once has it done it again.

you do know how to do a hard reset on those eh... hold top button and menu button (round one) for like 5 seconds or so and it flashes black and basicly does a hard reset... (all ipods have this feature, tho the ones with a clickwheel its center button & menu for somethng like 6 seconds.) hope it helps next time :)

Run Free memory and hit Free memory before every few apps so you have more RAM for those apps to run. iStat is harder -- you start it, click your iPod, and hit Free Memory. This, even though it's harder, frees up as much as it can, not 20 MB like Free Memory. Hope this helps. (This happens to mine too.)

ok, restore your ipod on itunes. Thats what i did when my screen froze black. plug in your ipod and restore it on itunes!

ok i have gotten that he held the sleep/wake button for 10 sec it should shut down immedialty so if that doesnt work you are going to have to wait for it to run out of batt after that charge it and turn it out that should work if not go to the apple store and try to get them to fix it or exchange it for you
