That was really sick! Ironman is my favorite superhero and it annoyed me when I first got the game and felt he wasn't great, but after this I will definetly be trying to use him again. Thanks!

I don't understand how in under a month people can assume a character like Tony of all characters will end up in the bottom 5. It's ridiculous, within the amount of time I've been in training mode with him I'm already finding interesting tricks his air dashing and flight mode.

Yes, he's very different compared to vanilla but doesn't mean he's ass. He's simply not a flow chart character, you don't need everyone single one of your tools to be BS/abusable to be viable in this game lol

@CrouchStrong Vanilla WAS all about flowcharts, you could win with other characters, but you'll have to think. Why think, when you could simply flowchart? That's what hindered the game and garnered it so much scorn after 6-7 months of its release.

But like I said, Tony is strong, he's a high execution who requires thinking to win. He doesn't seem to have outright abusable tools, but if you know how to play him right, he's a major threat.

I beat ragna's all the time in blazblue online/offline. Does that mean Ragna sucks, no. You could body me if I use wesker, doesn't mean wesker is ass. It just means I'm ass.

@k0rr1 Well flash essentially replaced Tony with MODOK. And MODOK is the least changed in the game, so I don't think that's a clear demonstration of "Iron Man sucks". While you do make some strong points, I have strong character loyalty which I won't deny. But I also feel that it's too early to tell if someone is complete ass.

I also think that they killed Ironman in Ultimate. Right now he's a pain to play. I still don't get the point of that S L O W / weird diagonal airdashes.

@hci85 The only slow part of it is the start up. Diagonal airdashes with IronMan pick up insane speed, which makes them fantastic with flight mode. He's all about flight mode, since that keeps him from hitting the ground on the diagonals.

For God's sake, give Iron Man a chance, people! You know, some of us don't want to switch to a "better Iron Man", like Magneto or Dr. Doom. What right do any of us have in calling a character bad, awful, or worst when there are other players that uses those characters with remarkable skill? Iron Man isn't bad, just hard to use.

@younglink615 he has one of the worst tri-dashes in the game, his damage output is ridiculously low despite being one of the most technical characters in the game, and his normals have really bad priority not to mention horrible recovery. Need I say more?

@CrouchStrong like i said to that other guy its a matter of getting used to him. He is on one of my main ranked teams and i have a 2.0+ win/loss in ranked. I believe im 55 and 23 somewhere around there. He is my anchor i personally like him.

@younglink615 No offense, but online means nothing. I had an over 90% win rate online in Vanilla and I still know it's completely meaningless.

I'd like to say he was good, but he's really really not. I know how his airdash works. I know how to theoretically get in with him and use instant overheads, but none of it works in practice.

He's a sub par zoner, sub par rush down character, has middling life, unsafe normals, difficult hitconfirms etc etc etc.

He's just plain bad in a game like UMvC3.

@CrouchStrong Sub-Par rushdown? You mean complete ass since his airdash got nerfed. This character blows, for the amount of work you actually have to put in with him and the results you get aren't worth the effort. If you want a better Ironman, just pick Magneto.

@CrouchStrong I'm actually much more hopeful concerning Iron Man than you are, I think people vastly underestimate this character. His air normals are amazing, and his flight mode allows for sick mix up if you use it with the right assist.

He's really hard though..

@CrouchStrong Haha, and I respect your technology a lot. Don't give up! His air normals are the biggest of any character I've seen, at least of those with flight mode. Abuse grounded flight S, and grounded flight downH S, they're both vicious. Repulsor blast is godlike safe footsies and frame traps.. he's just so counter intuitive.

@Dacidbro I agree that he's potentially really strong up close with the super fast downwards airdash and instant overheads from flight and backwards airdash, but the problem is getting there in the first place. You really need an assist to hold them in place.

@CrouchStrong If you use a beam assist, you can punish a pushblock with cr.L + assist >Flight, float up down forward air dash jdownH jS/jS crM for solid pressure with a vague high low. Or you can use that as an approach, at neutral.
