Data log, radar gun and speedo agree on our speed. And the other drivers and our radar gun agree on theirs. The cars just fly differently.

Will is mostly right - the cars are evenly matched in normal race conditions. But they fly differently. We lanched at perfect Subaru takeoff speed - 44.mph. Turns out we would have done better at 48 mph - a speed that sent one of the Subes way long in practice. Lesson learned: Evos like to do everything faster - including fly.

If you are basing your opinion of Evo's off road capabilities or how it stacks up against a Subie on the XGames glorifies Rallycross course then you know zero about rallying. Subies are fine cars, but they have gotten their asses handed to them in PWRC all year, a class that guys like Travis and Block have yet to place in even when they've tried. ACP is a good driver, the crash was really too bad.

These cars are very evenly matched for this competition. If he won, it would be all driver and very little to do with Evo vs. Subi.  Just as the crash was all driver, not because it was an Evo as Aflac515 said. The jump just has him totally psyched out. It's all mental, he just needed to give it more gas!

I dunno, I was there for this and the Evo is definitely faster than an STI. It all comes down to driver in the end, but with two evenly matched drivers, the Evo wins every time.
