  • Wercome to Wan Chai Mahket.

  • Everytime I'm playing deus ex and hear this, I start doing a retarded dance with my head :(

  • Why is the quality so poor?

  • You wanna do business in wan chai?

  • @umyafzal Yeah.

  • I don't know why I like this song so much. I just do.

  • I CAN TELL THEM YOU'RE A SPY, AND THEY WILL KILL YOU. Fuck you, Louis Pan! *stabs with sword*

  • This track was like air to a drowning man when i first stepped out of the MJ12 complex. Suddenly i was on the streets of Wan Chai, escaped the grasp of MJ12. It felt like freedom.

Not many games have the ability to suck the players into the game like DX1, this track in particular never gets old and makes me want to visit wan chai in real life, listening to this awesome track.

Thats achievement no other game has gotten from me.

  • @Propaani Imagine the feeling we probably both got as "Enemy Within" started playing after you got out of the MJ12 holding facility and realized you were in the middle of UNATCO. Everything you knew was wrong, the entire time you've been working for the wrong people, the entire concept of the world you had up until this point was shattered and the mix of confusion, rage and shock was pretty damn intense. I couldn't name a single game managing that today.

  • Bob Page and Walton Simons disliked it...

  • This music makes me want to 'BURN LIKE THE BRIGHTEST STAR!"

  • I KNOW THE DRAGON HEAD.

  • @coolsi04 Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.

  • Can anyone recommend any games similar to Deus Ex

  • @coolsi04 Chaser (it's far from perfect but always reminded me of a more shooting oriented deus ex.... 20 hour long story, interesting storyline, lots of varied locations, great atmosphere and soundtrack). Also try out the Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from butcher bay. it's a classic, and has stealth/shooting/and even role playing elements (and lots of conversations) thrown in for good measure. :)

  • @coolsi04 Yeah Chaser is a really great game. Also try out Oni. It's an early Bungie game that is imo better than the entire Halo series altogether. It's not (just) sarcasm :D. It has a really killing atmosphere and storyline.

  • 2 dislikes? wow some people just have no taste

  • "I speal my drrink!"

  • Not advisable for tourist to visit canals at night

  • Oh my god JC, a bomb !

  • @Gegarf A BOMB!

  • @Gegarf A BOMB!

  • so much nostalgia, its unbearable sometimes.so many memories from this game and real life pops up while listening

  • deus ex the best game ive ever played.

  • Visitors in Wan Chai should stay near the market...

  • @Hutch4111 What a rotten way to stay near the market.

  • In this game i am totally transported to another world..this game is EPIC!

I reinstalled it every time i heard about it!

    \ROCKS/

  • "I know the DragonUHHHHHHH..."

  • Every time I hear this song I have to bob my head like JC does while he's walking. XD

  • @ZetaMan117 hahaha, dude that's awesome, I think I did that one time tooo XD

  • @ZetaMan117 Same here. X)

  • This isn't a MP game, but the singleplayer is simply in another dimension then all other games.

And alot of people don't probably even know the game.

  • "I bet you came from the market. That's where I want to go."

  • No one playes Deus Ex sor the multiplayer.

  • the music is what saved this scene in the game.

without it the offensive chinese accents whould be even more annoying

  • I'm off to get the Dragon's Tooth, excuse me...

  • JC DENTON... IN DA FRESH

  • hoping for at least a re-mix of this in DE3.

Its one of the most vivid tracks from the game.

  • I remember buying this game alongside diablo2 on release day! such a great game... memories :(

  • what a shame

  • If someone doesn't like this song, he has no soul and must be terminated.

  • @UziRider2 It's not a song, it has no spoken verse. A piece, or more recently, a track, is a better word to describe it.

  • @UziRider2 or sent to VersaLife for some experimentation...

  • @UziRider2 Target aquired

  • @UziRider2 People rate up the dumbest comments. This is good music, but what's up with terminating someone who doesn't like the same music you do? You would have been terminated a long time ago by somebody ...

  • @UziRider2 seriously i mean this sound is just so epic and i think its a real shame the new deus ex has nothing that can compare to this game soundtrack wise :(

  • If you die,our plans will fail.

    Locate Tracer Tong.

  • "And you... you... are a bad actress." -YK

    -unknown sound

"And you have one less finger." -MC

  • What a shame.

  • You're the only person to post What a Shame on a Deus Ex video and get downvoted. Strange. And what a shame.

  • @Mrster Maybe they just listen to music and are unfamiliar with the game's dialog.

  • Seems like it.

  • best song in any game ive ever played.

  • Ti Ni Po Ni Sez Wai Yu Gei Chai Nees Dood.

  • fucking awesome

  • The Single Player is what blew people away (rather, sucked us all in).

  • @TheCanadianSoldier He's got no clue. I still check on the mod progress for Deus Ex, follow Human Revolution actively, suck up everything on youtube about it (watched a 2:44 hour long special of some british reviewer called TotalBiscuit just playing level 1 until Unatco) and from time to time even play this game. The music alone makes me smile no matter what. I guess you know that's how it is, but damn, this is THE game for me. Nothing else defined what I like about games like DX did.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheCanadianSoldier Yeah, I didn't even KNOW Deus Ex had multiplayer.

  • DX MP is still alive lol ya just gotta get on at the right time ESPECIALLY THE RPG SERVERS

  • personally, as much as I admire the game, I don't think so I can play it again without getting bored. but I know if I make it past liberty island i'll get hooked again

also, a lot of people move on, and have. games have become all about graphics

  • Your right, and wrong. Alot of people bring up the argument of graphics over script writing and other game aspects... But have you seen some of the games that are already out and are coming out? Assassins Creed 2 if a fantastic looking game, while still maintaining a gripping storyline throughout, and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has amazing visuals and an awesome multiplayer, arbeit lacking in the story department. In 2010, for those story orientated people (I am one) [Continued on nxt thread]

  • We have our Final Fantasy XIV of which i am a big fan (I will finish this next one! I swear.) and Alan Wake, an author who visits a small town with his wife to cure his writers block. When shes kidnapped, he discovers a thriller which he cant remember writing and every word of it is coming true. Very stephen king, and hopefully very max payne (The team who made max payne are the team developing Alan Wake.) The last few years have been very graphically orientated but i saw this as -

  • Necessity. With the upcoming sony and microsoft motion control features we may never play games the same way come 2010.. or more likely 2050!

  • @Balajimes

I think I,ll stick to a hand-held controler its the standerd for over 30 years and works pretty wel

  • I know I said a lot of people move on, but I was speaking of other people, not myself at all, strange I know. and that would be justified by my 2-12 month old comments on several DX soundtracks. I just can't move on from this game. it's partly ruined SPlayer-FPS games for me because I always compare it to DX

and I'm not one to go gaga over a game if it just has graphics, but the storyline/music. COD4MW1 had great gameplay, but lacked a good storyline hence non-immersive experience

  • @WhackAChicken This game isn't really designed for deathmatch, it was patched in after the release with the GOTY version.

  • @WhackAChicken What a shame.

  • @WhackAChicken People still play it SP or on local net.

  • @WhackAChicken Why would anyone care for the multiplayer in an RPG? Besides, loads of people play and replay this game even to this day.

  • @WhackAChicken You're joking, right?

  • @WhackAChicken

I don't know what you mean. The game is still played in multiplayer, but there aren't many people on the server.

  • @WhackAChicken We shall organize ourselves! Produce more mods! (And augs!) Viva la conspiration!

  • the gretest game in history of mankind

  • Yeah man i love this game so much but i lost the disc xD

  • what a shame.

  • What a rotten way to die

  • reinstalllllllllllling

i use to love walking around hongkong

  • This game gives me orgies hit me up on Multiplayer my alias: Revan

  • top notch just like the rest of the music (and voice work) in the game :)

  • This song is le god ^_^

  • I can tell them you're a spy, and they will kill you.

    I know the dragon head!

  • Luis Pan was such a punk. Crowbar to the head was my only option.

    What a shame.

  • Yeah that kid is a total jerk...I used to actually enjoy hacking him to death lol

  • Disgustiiiing.

  • Umm guys, I don't think marowwindsky was commenting on the actual song, but the fat Chinese chick wearing the green dress in the Lucky Money, or wherever she is. So no need for useless thumbs down. And you guys call yourself Deus Ex fans.....SHAMEFUL!!!!! Nah I'm just kidding.

  • Thank you! It's about time someone figured it out.

  • You guys kill me! I can't allocate any more thumbs up, lol.

Y'all so right. Hong Kong level was the icing on the epic cake that is Deus Ex.

So let's end with saying: Flatlander woman. Ya know. :)

  • man listning to this and all the converstations around the market echo through my head!

    "please look around"

    "i am a good watchman"

  • awesome track, awesome game.

  • I like this.

  • awesome!!!

  • the most amazing game i've ever played....

and the music complemented the game towards perfection.. thanks for uploading

  • meecka

  • The tracks complented the game prefectly.

  • I'd say REINSTALLING but I'm not.

Because I NEVER UNINSTALLED THE GAME.

  • lol same here

  • this is on my all time favorite game song compilation..

  • one of the best games i played, maybe THE best... even the sountdracks... unforgetables

  • this game was just perfect, as is its music.

  • Any one know a URL to this song on a piano?

  • ahhh the Synapse :)

  • its so wonderful to play deus ex. except I dont like the end that much. new york, paris and hong kong are very awesome levels in the game. I'm sure I love hong kong now cause of this game. its so hard to wait to go there.

  • Yeah, I remember staying in this level for hours only to listen to the song. Occupied my time by bugging Hong Kong's citizens :p

  • Deus Ex... Epic succes! And first time I noticed that MY actions affected what would happen next (Srgt Carsson in the armory telling me I dont need ammo because I'm trigger happy) I was like ''HOLY ****!! COOL!!'' then I went back and played that part over ^^

  • Great game, great music, great memories! Might have to play it through again now...! :-D

  • Man, do any of you remember when you got out that elevator and into Wan Chai, this music kicked in, and it felt like the whole game just opened up. I remember being awestruck. First time I ever had that feeling in a game before, and it's still the benchmark...

  • Yeah I know what you mean.

  • yeah no one would say that about any other game, its funny i have "great memories" about a videogame.... with a crappy engine. but better than any book i ever read or movie i saw.

  • its not entierly true that no one would say that about another game, system shock 2, i think is as good as deus ex, because both of the games, are not really games, but more of a virtual experience.

  • I played that too. also liked that a lot. But DeusEx1 and Fallout2 i found the most impressive.

  • I love the game. It's the best game, IMO. But I've read better books and have seen better movies. There are especially a lot of books with a story that is way better than Deus Ex. You should read more.

  • What movies, what books:O!!?!?

i want something IN THE VEIN OF=)

  • A videogame can't have better storytelling than books and movies. Some games have tried it and it just ends up being a movie more than a game anyways (MGS4 anyone?)

  • A game beats the movie in storyline depth and the book in special effects and artistic directing. A game shouldn't be considered as any lesser than the other two.

  • Me and Marc Laidlaw agree.

  • what movie do you mean??

  • if a video game has a story it is a movie you control. fun huh more fun than watching a movie. take that back about MGS4!

  • so true dude;) its truly a masterpiece

  • This was the game that really got me into video games. I think this is the greatest game ever made it just brings so many good feelings and memories.

  • this should play in the Bejing Olympics :D

  • With mysterious guys in black suits with sunglasses running around.

  • this song brings back so many memories. i remember killing that mean little kid who tries to steal the newspaper. yeh i got him good.

  • I never liked him either.

  • I stood on his shoulders till he decided to end himself.. that or i just crushed him idk :)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • scratchy

  • øldrælt

  • scratchy

  • The tune is so catchy. :)

  • I jumped into the Luminous path triad complex by jumping on a smaller part and then into it with super legs biomod. The chinese people weren't happy that a westerner came and proceded to chop me up with blades. However I caught em off guard and jumped on their heads and killed em all. I might upload vid of this if I wasn't tryin to get as many views as possible w/o vids.

  • a present for your girlfriend?

  • If I was in Hong Kong I would want this song to be played in every corner of Hong Kong.

  • I went thru liberty island without killing eny1 (except for the ocasional blowing up of the tnt crates)

  • WE WANT DEUS EX 3

    WE WANT DEUS EX 3

(and hope it ll b better than the 2nd)

  • Icarus and daedilas are helios BEST GAME EVER unfortunatly Eidos and other games designer only care about money crushing the Dreams of their Fans i can make Deus Ex 3 the best but Money is more important than a Fans love for the game

  • Well, yeah, that's business, but caring about the fans is business too..I'm sure they learned a bit from the last game. I don't believe we'll get a game as good as the first, but the best that is possible(if it goes multi-platform). Like the menu system etc.. And NO DX2:I.V. CAMERAS!! Dear GOD!

  • if you'd own a business, you'd understand how crucial money can be... I don't care... call me materialistic, but we need money to survive and what not

  • Love this song!

  • My fav game I think or at least on the same place with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Diablo I :D

I've heard they're making the Deus Ex III. I just hope it will take after the original Deus Ex!

  • We all hope so.

  • The two creative directors from both the original and sequel, Warren Spector and Harvey Smith, are NOT on board for Deus Ex 3.. I think it's going to be different but lets hope it's like the original, it's my favourite game.

"ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!"

  • Nonsense! I destroyed Icarus!

  • "I now have full access to your systems..."

"You bring the illuminati closer to regaining power, examine what you are doing..."

    :)

  • U can kill icarus in first ? I dont member that...

  • no icarus and daedalus can emerge if u want to

  • Don't you have no choice if they merge or not ?

  • yes your right. bob page makes them merging and creates helios. and you probably kill helios if you follow tracer tong's plan.

  • yeh

  • Yeah Deus 2 Suck the first was way much better

  • stalker any good? is it anything like deus? lots of ppl saying it is

  • I don't know if Stalker is THAT similar, but my buddy is totally into that game. He told me you have to eat and sleep to stay alive and it's really cool.

  • Seems nice.

  • STALKER is not like Deus Ex. Basically there are 10 areas, in each area you get closer to the chernobyl plant which is obviously your goal. But the game besides that can be very non-linear. The most unique thing about it is the wildlife, it's different every time! It's not scripted, but dynamic. The game is not perfect but patch it and try it. It's very good and different.

  • The best piece of music from DE1 in my opinion, closely followed by the main theme

  • The complete soundtrack is available at edgevoltradio(dot)com with no registration required.

  • well, i saved before i try all the ends :) (sorry the english).

  • A finished the game once again yesterday! YEAH!
