  • 36,292 people have too much time on their hands

  • @20cFilmWannabe lazy bitch

  • @Thatradomguy smelly turd.

  • @20cFilmWannabe fucking terrorist.

  • this is not the proper way lol there is no proper way lol

  • @aceofspaids98 There is a whole history as to why we fold the American Flag this way. This folding technique is supposed to be for the US flag only as it represents something historically important when folded into the triangular shape. I left a comment to "TheFireDiamond" below explaining it. This is the true and proper way to fold a US Flag. :) Pretty Special.

  • @dspurg7310 under the US flag code there is know proper way to fold the flag. The way you are showing here is the honorable way to. You could look it up and they dont even mention it.

  • Any of you. & I mean any of you sleeping Sheep ever wondered?

Why is the flag folded into a Triangle?? Wake-Up.

  • this is how u make a paper football to lol

  • I needed to watch this video because folding the flag after taking it down is part of my condominium security guard job. Nobody really cares how I fold it, but why not do it correctly.

  • I did it YAY!!!!!!

  • i tried praticing with a 3 by 5 and it doesnt work out for some reason

  • I folded the flag of my country this way , it is not the same size , it is 2:3 proportion , but it is plain tricolor so when it is folded , the whole flag is red .

  • Thanks...

  • Is this proper for other flags as well? Like the Chinese flag or the Icelandic one.

  • @TheFireDiamond According to a quick history lesson I looked up, this method of flag folding is supposed to be ONLY for the US flag. It gets folded into the triangle shape that is supposed to represent old colonial hats of those who served under General George Washington.

  • Cool just like making a paper football.

  • Theres actually only supposed to 4 stars showing

  • btw We have a folded U.S. flag from the Coast Guard after my grandfather passed away in 2002,

    RIP GrandFather :(

  • Me too yesterday my grandfather's funeral took place and he was in the army so they presented me w/ the flag... Great presentation the had made....

  • BTW RIP Grandpa

  • is it true that if an American flag touches the ground, you have to burn it?, that's what I heard

  • in the military, i worked on details that helped fold the huge flags (30' x 50', i think). the military police was life-and-death serious about that thing not touching the ground. they were always shouting things like "don't make us have to burn this flag today!"

proper flag etiquette says a flag must be honorably burned if it touches the ground (or if it otherwise requires disposal due to wear, destruction, etc)

search "flag code" or "flag etiquette" you'll find plenty on the matter

  • its 50 stars and 15 strips

  • I am european. Even I know there are THIRTEEN STRIPES - they represent the original thirteen states that declared independence . . . can't you count?

  • In 1795, two stars were added, for Kentucky and Vermont, bringing the number of stars to 15. Two stripes were added to make 15. This was the only U.S. flag to have 15 stripes. In 1818, Congress proclaimed that one star for each new state would be added on the 4th of July following the state's admission to the union and there would be thirteen stripes representing the thirteen original colonies.

  • Dude chill out. Some people don't know.

  • do you make the star spangled banner, you know the 15 stars and 15 striped american flag?? It would be awesome to have one of those flags.

  • it helps a bunch if you have a third person to help hold the base of the triangles when folding them.

  • Yes, you are correct. The more people you have assisting the better. I would like to point out we often times receive calls from people folding an American flag without any help. A good triangular fold can be accomplished by laying the flag on a table and using welding clamps to hold the hoist end of the flag while folding the triangle's.

  • What is the proper way of cleaning Ol Glory?

  • Our Endura-Nylon or Poly-Max American flags are commercial quality. These are tough American-made flags that will stand up to laundry detergent & regular warm washing machine settings. Pre-soak a few hours in detergent will help. You can expect a 20% to 30% increase in color brightness. It's best to hang and air dry.

  • Im looking for a donation of the US flag for a local Boy Scouts of America Venturing Crew. We lack one and we are going to be talking about the folding and history of our flag. Please respond to see if you know someone or are able to.

  • Because of high demand we are over budget on donation requests. I think you'll find this to be true with most manufacturers. I recommend contacting local merchants for monetary donations. It's been our experience that local banks, realtor's, grocery stores, restaurants and motorcycle dealers are good sources for monetary donations. Our commercial quality 4' x 6' American flag shown in the video is only $39.50. I hope this helps.

  • Thank you for thise vidieo we are refolding my uncle's flag whos life was lost in vietnam.

  • Even though it was many years ago that your uncle died in Vietnam I would like to extend my deepest sympathies.

  • Is it the same procedure with the 48 star flag?

  • Yes, it's the same procedure with 48 stars but, of course, you don't end up with the same arrangement of stars on the top fold.

  • my dad didnt know to do with my grandpas flag so i searched for a video and yours came up i wasnt gonna let him get rid of it becauseits been there since WWII

  • another goal (not to difficult if this video is followed closely) is that none of the stripes or the white hem (at the eyelet end) be showing

    great video!

  • there is a God.

  • that's great. but these comments are meant to discuss the flag video

  • @THEREIZNOGOD: Honestly, you are the first person I've encountered that didn't retort danemaricich13's God comment with an insult or evidence of no god. BTW, this reply isn't meant to incite a flamewar/argument/whatever.

  • Glad we could be of service.

  • I have been trying to find someone to fold my Dad's flag for the longest until I decided to do it myself, and this was very easy to follow. Thanks for the instructional :-)

  • Thank you Sir. I'm glad our video was helpful and you received your American flag quickly. Thomas J. D'Amico - American Flags Express Inc.

  • This video made it easy to fold my new American flag, looks terrific. My thanks to American Flags Express Inc. I also received my American flag fast. You guys are great!

  • its actually fairly easy that I thought, thanks ;)

  • Yes, it does look easy but it may take a couple tries to get the stars in the right place. If the flag is made correctly, like our flags, you will able to get one star position nicely at the triangle top. The trick is to keep each fold very tight and straight.

  • Great information for the first time owner or the individual who wants a really nicely folded flag for their case. Thanks guys.
