At last, I've got to hear it on a 78 and the start of the century before I hear someone play the lost first verse. Not even the fames from the 40-50's play it anymore. Marty and all the rest just drop it. Thanks Shane. If you come on over to my place I'll pop a couple of cold ones and I'll give you a rendition on my Epiphone.
An absolutely fantastic song sung be the greatest singer of all time! The great unique voice of Slim Whitman will live on for centuries!! Marje Morgan Wrexham North Wales UK. And a member of The Slim Whitman Appreciation Society on Facebook.
Another of Slim Whitman's fantastic recordings.I never heard a lousy song from Slim.Went to see him in Blackpool in 1958? I think.I was hooked from then.I have still got the programme I bought that night.

The best rendition of Bob Nolan's song, sung by the Sons of the Pioneers, but Slim's is the best.

I honestly did not know that Slim was still alive...
I have a fondness for these old country western songs as it is and Slim can yodel with the best of them!

Is that a RCA VICTOR RADIO?RECORD PLAYER- or A PHILCO? nice one thanks for sharing the tunes.

It's an HMV 202 re-entrant, made between 1927-31. It's an acoustic wind-up machine much like Victors Credenza, only bigger.
