Not really the game was already tied at that point ,there would have been extra innings and that is assuming that a hobbled Buckner did not get beat to the bag by a speedy Mookie Wilson on that slow roller and if it went into extra innings who knows what would have happened though the odds would have been in the Mets favor since they were the home team...The superior team who should have won ended up winning..
