The claim that our #2 chromosome is the result of the fusion of chimp chromosome's 2A and 2B was always speculative.

The chimp genome project took a closer look at 2A and 2B and discovered our #2 has 150,000 sequences not in 2A or 2B.

That means chimp 2A and 2B couldn't possibly be the origin of our chromosome #2.

It's that simple.

There is no gray area here.

Being that the chromosome together is universal and can be repeatedly examined; you've got a working experiment yielding consistent data. Human evolutionary development predicts and explains the data. Though I'd like to see more of these experiments carried over to all living genomes and see what the 'collective' mapping could tell us?

Even now biologists are still unable to decipher so many segments in the DNA, how could they possibly be so sure that fusion if it ever occured proves relation to common ape like ancestor. What is coded in the DNA strand will determine if the creature is a chimp or human, not the number of chomosomes. It has been proven that chimps mtDNA falls way outside the human mtDNA, and we dont have any DNA from so called apelike common ancestor.

We are not yet able to understand the genetic data we are seeing yet the evolutionists always have an explanation for everything.

The point of this is that we have found more evidence that fits into the evolution theory. No one is saying that this "Proves" evolution by itself. Bloody creationists. lol.

This + the huge amount of other evidence is why evolution is a science fact.

Having the same number of chromosomes DOES NOT equal evolved from each other.

Rabbits and Potatoes also have 24 chromosomes and I know I didn't evolve from a potato. Some of you probably did though, and that is where you get your mental abilities from.

this doesnt prove anything except that human dna has corrupted over time (which we already knew i.e, heredetary diseases etc). The original adam had 24 chromosomes but at some point they fused to 23. That doesnt mean adam was an ape just because apes have 24 anymore than welding the back doors of my sedan shut means that it was evolved from a coup.

To clear up some confusion. Evolution is NOT a fact.. I do believe in evolution for many reasons.. But none of them are facts. Those saying these theories are facts are no better then religions saying that Genesis is a fact.. Evolution is only.. what we came up best with, so far.. But it don't prove jack..It just give us great insight on how IT MIGHT have worked out over time.

The fact is that this does nothing to "prove" our descent from apes. Here's why: If this mutation occured, it would have to happen twice in one generation- to one male and one female. If one or the other had this mutation, it could not possibly produce fertile offspring with the original population. So, this male and female would have to find each other, mate, produce another male and female and multiply. Odds of this mutation by chance are phenomenal. Looks like the same guy made apes and man.

So what mechanism decided that fusng these chromosomes would lead to a mega transition into an intelligent hominaoid. Try to calculate the odds of an accidental mutation such as this. To put it into perspective, let's say your running windows xp and your computer gets hit by lighting fusing two section of the programming code. Afterward there is such a dramatic improvment to XP that it can now read your mind!

Regardless, there is no difference between micro evolution and macro evolution. The only people stupid enough to try to distinguish between the two are people who say they believe in one but not the other. These people are also often dumb enough to think that the big bang has to do with evolution and also think abiogenesis has anything to do with evolution.

but if we have a fused togetha chromosomes then wouidnt that make some sort of mutation in us i mean theres a decrease in strength and we have alot more intelligence  and if there was a mutation then we mutated in to somethin greater and we might as well be apes
