I miss that beast! She was basically my grandpa's baby. Always thought it was a 1950. I saw it for sale in 2009, and I had the money. Just no way to get her home to Seven Valleys. By the way, it's a Waukesha engine and Waterous 500 gallon per minute pump. Please keep us informed of her location!
I'm an active firefighter for the seven valleys fire Co. And to see this truck still alive and still in good shape is very impressive!! we have been trying to locate this truck for many years now
chick magnet!! well if you fixed it I bet you could fit a lot of them roosten in the ladder rack lol. But it takes a back strain to get all that work done. For the chicks you might attract better call it the Red Rooster HA HA !!!!!!!!!!!!
This unit was originally owned new by the Seven Valleys Fire Company in York County, Pa. The 2-spark plugs per cylinder is not special at all- most larger gasoline engines at the time were equipped with dual distributors. I believe this engine is an International. I own a 1958 FWD Model F-725 firetruck, which has a 140GZ (F554G) Waukesha gas, also with dual distributors.
Do you have all of the accesories, such as the headlights, hand rails, pump gauges and other chrome items that were originally on the fire engine? Also, what is the asking price?
