So many memories this brings back, to this day (IMO) this was and still is the single greatest series ITV ever produced and the BBC have always been jealous of it. Hence that awfull robin-hoodie-hollyoaksafterdar­k remake series, jesus that was bad.

The first two series with Michael Praed were the best.Guy of Guisburne always seemed to have a pretty rough time at the hands of the Sheriff and Maid Marian

was such a cute redhead.It had it all.And notice how any of the sheriff's soldiers dressed in blue usually got the arrow...Don't wear blue in Sherwood Forest!.I always felt sorry for those soldiers..

What can be said..apart from truly brilliant. I was lucky enough to catch this when it first aired in 1984. Owned the lot on VHS, and again on DVD (hopefully BluRay as it's just been released). I can say with total and utter confidence that Robin of Sherwood is THE greatest version of Robin Hood ever seen. Every single cast member was outstanding, magnificent locations, inspired music, exceptional writing from Richard Carpenter. Mr Praed is the definitive Robin. Unmatched to this day. Class.

This is a superb tune! Robin Hood did exist but he was not from Nottinghamshire but whether he DID steal from the rich and give to the poor is up for debate; King Arthur is the same, he existed at the time when the Romans were giving up on Britain to try and stop Rome from getting invaded by barbarians but he didn't ride around with 15th/16th century armour like in the film Excalibur - more as a tribal leader with basic 5th century leather. Sorry romantic/Hollywood people!
