They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • Ashlene O'Gaea writes some good books on pagan parenting

  • @CinnamonC Wow, thanks for that post. I never seem to be able to find any good Pagan books on parenting or children's Pagan books. :)

  • it isnt about that , not about how good or not people are its about needing to enforce their own faith by telling everyone else how wrong they are, they dont want to be enlightened

  • i agree with you, i also think that we are all childeren of god. now i was raised penicostal, i dont agree with it all, and my dad is a preacher. lol hear is my veiw. god made us all,his son jesus, and a angel that fell and became just as powerful as god his self figurely speaking, now god made us of different religions and culters, right? now wouldnt be safe to say that he would want every religion to serve him, to keep the good of man? so why can't he make his self to what ever religion we are?

  • I'm Pagan and raising my eight-month-old son in a Pagan tradition. I want to expose my son to Paganism, but not force him into it. So he'll be participating in rituals and things like that, if he wants to. Here are some books I would suggest: Circle Round (Starhawk/Diane Baker/Anne Hill) and Pagan Parenting (Kristen Madden). Kristen also wrote Pagan Homeschooling, if that also interests you.

  • My problem with this is that a lot of Wiccans claim to practice "White Magick" and claim to walk in the light because that's "good". By doing this, they aren't acknowledging the balance, thereby being just as damaging to the natural order of things as the "evil" people.

BTW, people who don't do wrong things simply because they are afraid it will come back to them are just as bad as people who do wrong things all the time, on purpose. It's the intent, not the action, that defines you.

  • I don't think that's necessarily true. If the difference between right & wrong is clear to you, than it shouldn't matter why you chose the 'right' path. Sometimes doing the right thing isn't always the easiest choice. There have been times when I have seen something I could have easily stolen & knew I wouldn't get caught, but I didn't because it's wrong & I really don't need that kind of Karma in my life. Lol

  • @TheMsJohnee i agree with you, i was raised penicostal, a preachers daughter, lol but i practiced certain wicca things as young as 6, it came natural. it scared my dad big time, i dont remember it except for like pictures and lil books a kid makes, then at 16 i started meeting american indians that were into their religion big time. i started haven alot of strang stuff happen like tarot cards apearing, dreams of a lady that turned out to be my mother great aunt, that was irish. she was a witch.

  • @jenniferlbeach i have never arrested a true wiccian. i have satanic worshipers. now i have actually saw a wiccian knock on someones front door to ask permission just to pay respect to a oak tree. they got the cops called cause it alarmed the person, things something was wrong with the wiccian. but no harm was done, wiccian beleive in the 3 fold rule in a chrristian world do onto others as u would have done to you. , what goes around comes around times 3. meaning that same quote but it far worse

  • I here the book Circle Round is good for parenting and stuff like that!

    YAY Coraline!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love your book recommendations. I read alot myself, and I can definitely always use the book recommendations, especially for non-Wicca/non-Pagan books. I love your videos; keep it up :)

  • I'll definitely keep giving suggestions, I read ALL the time.

  • YOU GO GIRL!! I love your vids!! :) OOh..and I'm such a nerd soOo I loOove your book suggestions! looks like good reads and so definately will get...

    *huggs*

  • I'm glad you like my videos!!

  • Is that a cat meowing in the background? lol. It was giving me the giggles! Cool video!

  • yeah, my husbands cat, whom I do not like! lol he's always crying.

  • Hey, don't know much about pagan parenting, but maybe charmingpixieflora has a few gems of advice? I know her videos include her sons a lot. I must admit, I've not seen the hate wicca videos on here (yet) either, but perhaps that just because I've not been looking for them. I really love all my friends and subscribers on youtube. Keep the vids coming, excellent - 5/5! x

  • It's so strange that I never come across the "Hate Wicca" videos. I guess i'm just not looking for it. Everyone always talks about all these people out there hating Wicca, I've seen nothing but acceptance on here.

  • oh, they are out there. I watch a lot of wiccan/pagan channels and sometimes those videos just come up in my searches. It stinks, but oh well.

  • "Ask five Wiccans a question, and you'll get six answers."

According to The Everything Paganism Book, that's a common saying in the Wiccan community. While I've never heard it spoken in those words, it's so true.

I read Coraline this past year, but I've yet to see the movie. I didn't really get the super creepy aspect of it. Just that it's weird. The Graveyard Book is also fantastic. Gaiman <3
