well, i finally figured out why I was having problems with the sheet music! i forgot about the sharps! i got the right hand part's notes correctly identified, but the left hand's side still sounds wrong. i noticed in the beginning for the sheet music that (for the left hand side) the notes were: dd-cc bb bb cc cc, however you did: ff#-dd cc cc dd dd. what am i doing wrong for the left hand? Please help!

You must have been reading the notes on the left hand as the right hand which is how you got D C BB CC for the first two measures. Remember that the bass clef starts on a different letter than treble. The bottom line of the bass clef is G while the treble starts with E. The correct notes in the left hand are F# E DD EE. Would a Synthesia tutorial be more helpful? I could make one for you :D Let me know if you have any more questions!

yes, i went and printed this songs sheet music, and since I'm not very good at reading sheet music, I'm going and labeling each note, so its getting pretty tedious. now im listening to you play, and i'm like "stupid piano, why cant you sound like that?"

Thats a good way to help you memorize and recognize notes! It takes time and effort to play a song well. Don't be discouraged by my playing but inspired to try harder instead. You already have a head start by actually trying to learn and read sheet music. Many others do not and try to play visually or by ear at first which is not recommended by good pianist.

New pianist also tend to rush new songs because they want to learn it as quick as possible, but practicing and making mistakes is part of the process that will make you better. The training pays off in the end when you can play the music you like very well.

thanks for the advice!!! i can understand about the 'rushing' part, because im naturally an impatient person. i also understand about the mistakes, cause i've already learned several songs, like "Lilium" from Elfien Lied, "Fukai Mori" from Inuyasha, and Im learning "Sadness & Sorrow" and "Hokages Funeral" from Naruto and "True Light" from DN Angel! they are pretty songs. I know that I've screwed up several times on them! but, I will keep on practicing because i really enjoy playing the piano!

My comment was simply implying that beginners are better off learning to read sheet than to play by ear "at first". I never said it was bad o.O

Which chords do you think are wrong? A transcription is a persons interpretation of the song, its up to them how to arrange it so it may not be 100% accurate.

sorry as i said before, i'm a beginner in this and i don't know how to read a sheet music, but i use to get chords by ear, according to the midi which is based in the same sheet music, the second verse of the song is E Em D Dm A B Fdim C# that's what i saw, but instead of Fdim is C#sus4

The TOEI series did have its moments music wise, but the Duel Monsters soundtrack (Japanese, not the synth pop crap 4Kids replaced it with) is simply breathtaking. I was kinda surprised with that myself when I started watching XD.

Well alot of songs include a first part, a transition then the middle part (which is basically the first part again), then a part w/o words then the end part. And for piano, to me, i think unless the transcriber does a good job on making the 2nd and transitioning parts really unique, it just gets too repetitive. But thats just my opinion lol. The main reason is time, to transcribe or make an addon to the original. So yea maybe who knows :P
