  • I learned a lot in this video as a beginner painting figure hobbyist ,,thx

  • @warlord69enrico i´m glad it was helpful for you :)

  • Maybe stippling or wiping technique would be perfect for you (i talk about oil paints). I was said that painting miniatures with oil is somehow easier than with acrylics and that got me into painting with oils. I have one image that explains stippling tećhnique and if you're interested I can send it to you. It's in Czech, but I will provide you with instructions in English. It¨s from one of the best miniature painters in Czech republic. You will love it ;)

  • hi thx great tutorial i do use oil paints along with model color all my base cotes are acrylic thx again hope to see more of your models pls:)

  • for a minute when i watched the oils coming out i thought damn, your about to lose

all your work by making them oily, but you have pulled it off, spot on.

im 100% acrylic when i paint figures, and 95% airbrush even on 48 scale figures

apart from hair eyes and mouths.

    well done, good job.

  • @a24218361 thank you :)

i don´t use oil paints very much and the effect is very small in the end, but somehow the figures look a bit better with them, although i just put very little of it on the figure.

i´m not a good figure painter at all, i just enjoy it to paint some historic figures from time to time. i usually stick to tank models.

i will upload a new white metal figure soon, it will be a roman triarius in 70mm scale from ares mythologic.

  • Excellient work . Will be looking into these oil paints and how to build them into my paint method . Thank you

  • most helpful well done

  • Thanks for this excellent series of videos. They are some of the best produced I have seen.

  • well done mike

  • nice tutorials and very usefulls. You could make the same but with ww2 figures

  • Ups. fast vergessen. Die figuren sehen fantastisch aus :)

  • super tutorial.

  • You make it look so easy! :) Those figures are amazing!

I've tried the Mig Abteilung oil paint before - their engine grease mixture - but how long do you find they take to dry, as I like to try to use them for panel line and weathering effects on aircraft?

  • @MakingModelsAgain thank you :) it may be not as easy as it looks but i can tell you, it is not as hard as you might think :)

the mig oil paints need more time to dry than acrylics, but after 24 hours it will be good (as long as you used them with the drybrushing technique). i primed a whole face of a 120mm figure with oil paints once and it was not dry even after 3 weeks.

a oil paint wash will dry quite fast, about 6 hours.

in my opinion these paints are good for weathering effects.

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 I cant stop watching your videos, almost every day I watch at least 10-15 minutes, and you are embarrassingly good!Keep posting more videos,I really enjoy them

  • @lodhol thank you very much my friend! :)

  • Thanks for sharing your oil techniques Mike. The figures look great. I haven't been using oils for some time now.:)

  • Excellent work on the figures, they look wonderful! I have not tried oils yet.

  • @Generalsplatton thank you sir!

  • Nice job! Better then anything I could produce!

  • @MrCrazySnail thank you :) but my techniques are not very difficult. i believe with some exercise pretty much everyone can do this.

  • outstanding, do you make them to sell, or just display? enter contests?

  • @bohemianh uhm just do display it in my room. i don´t take part in contests very often.

  • the figures look very realistic, nice technique

  • @thehjupo thank you.

  • Awesome. I love the tuts.

  • Great tutarial, my friend. The figures looks really good too :)

  • @ModelloursWorkshop thank you very much :) i´m working on a sd.kfz 251 at the moment and will post a building review in the same style, i hope it shows more than my previous videos.
