Warrren is the brightest light in contemporary guitar. all those other artists who play with him know it and he does what he does with style and quality. Besides, when he helmed the Dead, he proved he could play Jerry but I regretfully say, Jerry couldn't play Warren
Warren H seems like a great human being. The Xmas Jam, his contributions, and I see the fans give him and Mule the love lately at shows. No, not like Trey or DJM, but anyone that likes loud music with guitars and drums usually ends up respecting the hell out of Mr. Haynes.
Maybe it's because Warren is maybe just a couple of years older than me that I relate so much to Warren's musical selections and love them. Like "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"-- you'd never have expected to hear an Allman Brother play Pink Floyd before him! Or the blues hit Red House! Grace is a great vocalist. I've long thought Govt Mule could use a "chick singer" though she's far more than that!
Warren Haynes has never gotten the credit due him.. always overshadowed by others in the spotlight, but damn, he's great with vocals and guitar-- slide guitar, too.. and keeps the flame burning!
Yeah, but I wonder if HE really knows how much he's appreciated. He's contributed to so many bands.. I mean, at the Jammys for example, Phish, esp. Trey (both of whom I love) get a lot of adoration and well-deserved respect. But Warren has never been such a recipient of straight out total love fest from the fans --a flood of love, in the manner that they, or Dave Matthews or many, many others have experienced... if you read me, unless I've been missing something. I don't hit the festivals much
@4rainbowed I don't think Warren gets the same love fest as guys like Trey and Dave because he isn't particularly charismatic. Let's face it - the guy is the epitome of the anti-rockstar up there. He IS the 500 lb elephant in the room. You look at guys like Trey and Dave and they're pretty, lovable, charismatic. Warren looks like he just stumbled out of an 18 wheeler and onto the stage. Many (like myself) find Warren relate-able in that way, and we love him even more for it.
@Medijuana420 Absolutely. Mainstream means shit these days, amazing musicians like Warren will simply not be world renown and it is unfortunate, but let's be glad that *we* can appreciate it!
If Warren Haynes can make millions and not have paparazzi following him everywhere then what could be bad about that? He may not want huge fame. Look at Ben Harper, Richard Thompson and other great musicians who stay just-this-side of fame. It's on purpose.
warren haynes is well warren haynes, but grace is a gift from the gods shes an awesome woman and incredible singer

This was a bitch! I remember it clearly. Nixon authorized the killing of 4 students. Fuck him!

@vinegaroon1 BS- Bad decisions and judgement with both the National Guard and the students. Nixon doesn't get the blame on this. GTH Moron !

@GOODY61 Yes, the students should have been given the same weapons the Guard had.

@4rainbowed Warren gets credit from the people who matter, the fans. I kind of like him being our secret :)

I see what you're saying now and I agree. The average fan doesn't quite realize how incredible the man is.
