Love this video. Is that a beer bottle on top of the net in the opening?! Love it! Hextall's number should be hanging from the rafters of WFC, Cup or no Cup. The man changed the way the game was played and played the definition of Flyers Hockey.

@st393736 Remember, it takes a TEAM to win a cup. There are MANY great players who retired without one. Looking at Hextall specifically, I do not think there is anyone who witnessed what he did in 87 who would disagree that he did as much as one goalie could possibly do against arguably the greatest team ever. No, in the end he did not win it but he did a HELL of a lot more than was asked of Fuhr in that series but Fuhr won. So what does that tell you about using cups as a measuring stick?

@st393736 Consider the fact that goalie equipment are also damn small back then, look at the NHL now, all the goalies have super huge pads/gloves, while his are quite small. He also scored twice :)

@TYLERLEGION Seems to be a common mistake. They do look alike physically. They are MUCH different as players as you probably know. Jagar was great. Brown was not… although he played great in that game which was part of the reason Hextall was hunting him down. Got tired of that ridiculous arm swinging, windmill goal celebration he was subjected to watching multiple times that game.
