A Z1 engine (Z06 powerplant) is large because many Z06 owners use them ultimately for drag racing - the engine has a maximum output of well over 1200HP. Show me any BMW that can do that.

yea it makes more horsepower per liter but the M3 engine actually weighs MORE than a 7.0L Z06 engine, also it doesnt even come close to the amount of torque. why do people who always claim they know so much about cars always forget torque?! also the vette engine is only MILDY tuned, not because they dont know how but for reliability and weight issues. you can run that engine wide open throttle for weeks on end withut ever stopping and it wouldnt break. 1990 or so Z-R1 still holds record.

lol believe it or not it's just an immobilizer. I drive a 95' bmw e34 530i and the same kind of thing was in my stock radio head unit. I could set it up so I had to punch in a 4 digit code before I could start my car. I figured it would get kind of annoying so I never used it. I've replaced the head unit so I can't use it anymore though.
