there's a filmmaking glitch. during the conversations, it seems that the dialogues by both the women and the man have been spoken at different times. also, it seems as if the man is seeing the girl lip-sync. who has her hair tied, when she sees the man, and hair straight when the man sees her.

Good way to maintain steadiness, and be able to do good editing, but somehow the whole thing was distracting me.

I appreciate the film from an acting perspective. Words usually sound nicer, when spoken in the films, but things happens quite differently in a real life. As the uploader states that 90% of the marriages in India are still arranged, the divorce rate is less, not because of the marriage is arranged, rather India has roots of least divorce which prevents in frequent divorce. Arranged marriage has nothing to do with that.

And as cashewnutcracker said in previous comment, divorce rates are very less because in Hindu law, one has to wait 6 months to get divorce. And its only the educated and rich - middle class women who fight against their abusive husbands who harass them and get divorce. Most of lower income class men drink everyday and beat up their wives and the women continue to live with such husbands. They just accept it as fate.

None of the arranged marriages in India happen this way. Its just guy and his family come to meet girl and her family. They first talk on dowry and once that's settled, its only then the guy actually sees the girl. Its usually a yes or no on the guy's part by looking at the girl's face. The girl isn't really given any choice by their parents. Except for some 10 % of the upper middle class to rich people in urban areas, the girl and the boy never talk to each other before marriage.

Seriously? Maybe divorces are not common in India because Hindu law did not permit divorce until a few decades ago and divorce is still frowned upon terribly. Perhaps divorce is not common because women stay in abusive or at the least oppressive marriages because that is what society has told them their worth is. Do some arranged marriages work? Sure, though perhaps more by chance than anything else, not because there is something objectively better about them.

@braj87 : Well, it is reliable in India only to those families who adore the concept of Arranged Marriage and are passionate about it and even value it more than Love Marriage. Arranged Marriages are not best for people who are brought up with a non-arranged, high-ambitious, self-supporting kind of society. Because the latter usually keeps Arranged Marriage as a sort of back-up for their life, which in one way sounds selfish.

me being a designer...i wud say its well crafted & the technicals are really good, I even liked the ending & the main theme that arranged marriages are more successful. But frankly saying, I really didn't like the girl's attitude....it was really lukin like 1 of her pshycatric session with a patient as mentioned by the guy. And come on....it cud have been a bit more casual.

I believe that marriage should be out of love, when you fall in love with somebody...not like going on a job interview to pick a husband. Also, it seems like you have never stepped foot outside India because if you come to the West, you would know that 98% of the women in the West cheat on their spouses and have extra marital affairs, I know none of my family or friends who have done the same in India, however, over here it's extremely common. I loved it. I think there is a good middle ground. The US makes marriage so much about love that it has become more about infatuation. Marriage is like a business contract now in the US, we stay married as long as it is beneficial, if it becomes less beneficial we end it.

This didn't seem like an arranged marriage. It seemed like they could decide they didn't want to get married. That seems more like match making than arranged marriage. Arranged marriage removes choice it would seem.
