  • Jenny had some nice eggs.

  • I remember this being in shit in 1984 when i was 5 and it still is now

  • Why hasn't jenni mentioned that cosmo and dibs only have two arms between them?

  • I thought that racism in society would have been sorted out after 'Cosmo' and 'Dibbs'. Ah well, never mind...

  • "Ever get the feeling you're getting older?"

  • this is gold!

  • cosmo and dids look so gay at the start.

  • @thepiper84 is it not Dibbs?

  • @DirtyHarry69a yes sorry! Dibbs! But they do look so gay! :P

  • @BassX0 You wouldn't be able to fill it with commercials as it's the BBC.

  • @SiStersOFthe80s I'd rather wipe the 80's out of time & existence!

  • they is BATTY MANZ! LOL

  • Cosmo looks like Kelly Rowland.

  • @johnclifftop I always thought Cosmo was black

  • We used to watch this at school! :)

  • OMG lol i used to watch that cant believe i used to think it was gd naieve very and one of them sounded lke a geordie lol

  • LOLOL@"disaster, heaped upon disaster"!!

  • @SiStersOFthe80s You cannot understand the trauma, Sisters of the 80s. My mum trusted me, and I let her down. I was being silly. I was holding them up by one hand like I'd seen waitors carry trays. Only, I don't think I had the balance. I still don't. I managed to break three plates in the kitchen only the other week.

  • "Jenny what can I do?.............actually I'm not doing anything until you give me a flash of those huge tits."

  • @rightwingpob Fucking funny!! Made me laugh.....thanks!!!

  • I ment cosmo right

  • Was dibs a Geordie?

  • oh god! I remember this from my childhood! It was sooooooo dulllll!

  • Thanks for the memories.

    :)

Now I'm off to find clips of how magic pencil writes letters. "Top to bottom, round and flick!" lol

  • The terrible thing is I dropped a tray of eggs just like that when I was about five. I remember my mum scooping them up from the gutter. I was in tears. Only one survived.

  • cool the sweetcorn on their stalls was only 8p and it`s the good stuff! i would buy two cans and then jizz all over jenny`s tits.

  • @rich15000

    Standard

  • Jenny's a bitch ,don't like her attitude!!

  • WHat were those puppets mwant to be?

  • My God! Look at Jeni Barnett!

  • Bugger me I used to love this when I was ickle. So weird seeing it again!

  • such a shame cosmo caught aids and bit those kids.

  • Why did they have cards like that before a show? Why not just fill the gap with commercials and make some money?

  • "Jenny, what can I do?"

"Well you can start by telling me what the f*ck you are, Dibbs."

  • @russel1311 I laughed out loud when I read this.

  • @russel1311 Hahaha

  • @russel1311 ROFL!!!

  • @russel1311 Pwahahahaaaa quality mate XD

  • A Geordie speaking puppet! Wai aye.

  • oh gosh, I remember watching this when I was off school sick, lol

  • Ah, yes always remember watching this, and having to sit and wait for the exact time for BBC 2 to get their shit together :-)

  • I remember this episode, as a 4 year old

  • What A Fuck

  • "That is'nt much better is it?" NaaaH. It's fookin shite pet."

  • Used to love this

  • Is it wrong I used to fancy Jenny when I was 4?

  • Of course it ain't! She's 100% woman!

  • @tsangari she was then - cshe's now about 10000% woman

  • @hazymat Jenny is a bit Schoolmarm in attitude but she has a great pair of Boobies.

I was not really into her at the time but now I am a fully grown adult I can appreciate her natural large Titties.

  • @DippShits I wholeheartedly agree

  • @hazymat Course not!

  • you notice their are no eggs on the market stall the second time around even though they continue to make the sign.

  • Can't believe I didn't notice that!

  • this was great i`ve been look for this for a while i wanted i child to see it.thank you for the video

  • Ehh- doesn't one of them work in the Minute Mart in EastEnders??? lol

  • oh Dibbs, what you like

  • nice post

  • Is the Cosmo accent geordie?

  • I'd completely forgotten about the gap in schedules they used to have. Remember when they had a spare 5 minutes & would throw out a Tom & Jerry or something? I'd love to see that happen now

  • Absolutely. It's interesting how much silence there is when the characters are concentrating on something - we don't get that in children's programmes anymore.

Thanks for posting this! Used to love watching it.

  • @hank3rox They still have them, but usually late at night. Strangely, the popular filler choice now appears to be "Everything Sounds Like Coldplay Now" by Mitch Benn. Surreal.

  • @hank3rox nice thought but the advertisers would go absolutely fucking mental

  • damn! i havent seen this in 20 years. ahh the good old days.

  • i've been looking for this for ages, really takes me back, remember watching it with my Mum

  • Good lord I remember that Jazz they would play before a programme was due on.

  • ANOTHER show i'd completly forgotten about! mind you, i'm 27 now, so only three in '85.

for years i had the theme tune in my head, never knowing where it camew from... although i did use to sing 'Poo and wee, wee and poo...'

  • Quality! Took me right back... nice one uploader :)

  • I think the introduction of different kind of accents was meant to reprasent the cultural demographics in the UK at the time. To make the programme more modern. :)

  • Classic show - thanks for the upload :)

  • bloody hell, takes me back

  • I remember this - can't believe what we used to watch ...He doesnt sound rasta he sounds scouse or geordie or something.

  • this is class, I can remember how funny it was, looks old now, but you Youngsters dont know what classic tv is

  • dibs was gay

  • Ha ha ha ha ha dibs is SUCH a cunt and why does cosmo sound like he has been smoking 40 bensons a day.

  • lol

  • What are those animals suppose to be?

  • i have no idea that confused me as a kid and still does. And why do they have rastafarian accents.

  • I think they're meant to be teddy bears. Thank you to tsangari for posting this programme- it brings back happy memories from childhood.

  • I've got some eggs for Jenny.

  • we used to call them spazmo and nibs

  • What the fuck WERE COsmo and Dibs? Monkeys? Lions?

  • They were Gummie Bears with bums for faces.

  • Fresh farm eggs,LOVE IT

  • GET YOUR FUCKING TITS OUT JENNY!

  • Haha! Wish she would.

  • i remember watching this episode at school when i was 7 and thinkin 'what a strange accent 'dobbs' has', sort of half geordie, half scouser..................but what i mainly remember, was watching it and thinking 'i hope jenny gets them massive tits out and flicks her bean at the same time' before going to the junior toilet and wanking off over her

  • HAHA! Brilliant. Yeah weird accent sort of West Indies meets Newcastle meets Liverpool

  • Remember laughing at the gangly black kid in the intro, when we were 6!

  • Yup we did at school too, ah the childhood niavety of racism

  • Comment removed

  • yeah but dont think we laughed cos he was black just a bit gangly!!! ha ha...

those puppets are so shite, but iconic!

  • Was this set in Birmingham?

  • That theme tune...sounds a bit like UB40.

  • it is UB40!

  • Jenny, Jenny, Jenny i would give you 1

  • fucking right son

  • Oh dear - Product placement! Naughty!

If this programme were made today, that 'Green Giant' brand name would have been covered up!

  • Yep I used to watch this when i used to be ill at home otherwise I would be at school at this time. Being ill meant I had the tv to myself with none of my 6 siblings! good times my friends good times

  • UB40. wonderful.

  • Brilliant. The 80s must have been the golden age of kids TV :)

  • Now, I'm thinking that the puppeteers are the same guys who did Zig and Zag ? Is that right d'you think ? In those days, we KNEW how to do good theme tunes for children's programmes !!!

  • Actually I think you are right. Cosmo's voice was nearly the same.

  • Frances Kay was Cosmo, and Francis Wright was Dibs. :-)

  • Fab!! Isn't Mog the cutest cartoon cat EVER!?

  • LoL I remember those monkey things.

  • thank you very much for posting this i loved this show and remember bunking off school jus to watch these 2 monkeys my friend actually looks like cosmo lol

  • these seemed like such easy days back in 1988 onwards

  • lol i remember them! what r they though? r they a type of monkey?

  • Ah the memories of bunking off school pretending your sick cos you couldent be arsed with school. Didnt ub40 do this version of the theme song ?.

  • I wish you really could turn back time.

  • Great memories! Thanks for posting this. My Mum used to record this for me as a kid- I watched it when I came home from school.

  • Cosmo sort of reminds me of Norma off Shameless.

    Quality upload btw.

  • I LOVED THIS!!!! Hahaha i remember if you took a day off school, this was always on in the morning on tv, rock!!!

  • oh my god I remember this I also remember when the new theme tune came in and it was done by ub40 I nearly choked on my findus pancake!

  • Go On The Old Lefty. lol Now on LBC 97.3 between 10-4 Monday - Friday. Now Bogoff!!!

  • I mean 1-4

  • This brings back memories of nursery and primary school...painting on thin waxy paper...the shine of the wet paint...those kids paint pots with primary colours in them, always a little dry and crusty on top....you could almost taste the colours couldn't you...

  • Ahhh, the memories. Couldn't have summed it up better it I tried.

    Nice one mate :)

  • Thanks for uploading this. It reminds me of being a kid in the 80's.

I don't remember Cosmo being a Geordie though hahah poor bastard ;)

  • Fantastic, haven't seen that in years.. was actually looking for Duncan the Dragon,,remember him? I was terrified from him when i was 5yrs old,ha think i might still be;)Can't find a pic anywhere to find out,,Help, please?

  • I remember duncan the dragon, wasn't he in a shop? Also remember Alice and Crowe (a gerbil and a crow)

  • I'm glad you remember him, no one i know can visualise him, was starting think i was mad,lol Don,t remember the surroundings DD was in, but always remeber those snapping teeth..scary

  • awesome, thanks for posting this. Btw, does anyone else find it amusing how excited dibs was about stacking those tins? Presumably that job will take him the rest of the morning...

  • Jeni Barnett is still gorgeous!

  • well done!

  • Wow I been trying to search for that show for years, I did not remember what it was call but now I found it

  • ohhhhhh dude lol. You are a legend. I rember these guys. Loved them. Use to watch them with my mum. Happy days

  • Dear tsangari, you have made my day......

  • My pleasure :-)

  • Edited for content? Who edited this and why? There is a strange edit at 7:40. Was this how it was broadcast?

  • Hello - it was me. I removed a scene with children, at 07:33. The bit you mentioned wasn't an edit, it was me pausing the video and then record (I was aged 5 at the time).

  • I always wondered why the orange coloured character Cosmo had a strange husky voice!

  • Ah wow! I loved Cosmo and Dibs! Thanks! What other schools shows do you have if you got them from the school you worked at? I will take some off your hands if you are giving some away, on DVD! I collect them!

  • Heya. This one was actually one that I recorded. The Betamax stuff I have are proper schools programming, which I will wish to digitise at one stage or another. Would be interesting to see if there is stuff that is relevant to today's curriculum.

  • This is legendary. Your the king! I loved this shit, and the reggae theme was quality

  • Oh my God! I remeber this from when I was a child! Jeni is the same Jeni Barnet who presents a radio show on L.B.C. I never realisede it was the same woman!!

  • The very same indeed. Got to admit her show is actually alright on LBC, but only in short doses! Getting fed up of the same music playlists on all other radio stations, so LBC will suffice!

  • I've actually got two boxes full of Betamax-recorded schools programmes, but no Betamax video! I work at a school and I bought the boxes home when they wanted to skip them. I do have half an episode of Words and Pictures on VHS, but until xmas I will have no personal time to upload anything, due to work responsibitlies.

  • look forward to xmas then, be a good present - thankyou!

  • Send em my way, My Betamax will love them.

  • I Was a year old when this was broadcast! but have been looking for an episode and this is fab! I would of watched it from around'87-90. Remember it fondly one of my all time faveourites along with ''words and pictures'' Am I right in thinking that as opposed to ''words and pictures'' ''you and me'' wasnt billed or intended for ''bbc schools and colleges'' I suppose it could of been intended for the reception year 4-5 years but it seems more pre-school liker 3-5, anyway thanks VERY much! legend!

  • fantastic. I remember this from when i was a kid. Thanks for uploading it.

  • I'm afraid that's the only episode I have.

  • Thanks very much for uploading. Its weird to look at Jenny being slim. Hmmmmm maybe eating too many "eggs" caused her weight to go up !!! Anyway I'm curious to know do you have any episodes which features Gary Wilmot ?
