The only time when the country was prosperous in recent history, was before the 1950's, but hasn't been since, because of oppression by the Shah and the current government of the so-called Islamic Republic.

Most former iranian citizens I've talked to, think the government should be overthrown by an outside force, and bring back democracy or constitutional democracy.

If american journalists like Brian Williams and Mike Wallace didn't go there, the only thing we would hear from Ahmadinejad, would be from the government controlled TV.

yeah, you're right, ahmadinejad avoids brian william's probe into his statement of "death to israel" in particular. i agree that a harder edged stance is needed in order to properly interview an individual like ahmadinejad, but my criticism of brian williams is more that he didn't afford him the respect a world leader deserves than the pressing and argumentative tone of his questions, more that he wouldn't let him finish. thx for the info, i'll watch mike wallace i think.
