oh please if we put what kind of music Mercedes and racheal sing ASIDE and they just sang acapella on the spot. going by pure vocal mercedes would blow racheal out. Sure racheal can sing and has more control and can sing in "more genres" which i don't think is true cause mercedes song in different ones as well. but Mercedes has sass, attitude, more emotion(though racheal get into it haha), a whole lotta soul(well racheal has none), a bigger range(belts to a C6), and CRAZY riffs and runs.

You can't really compare Mercedes to Rachel because they have different music styles. Mercedes is funky, and sassy and Rachel is better at more songs for musicals and stuff. In this, Mercedes would be better but are we really saying that Mercedes would be really good at Faithfully???

The reason why Mercedes is not the main leading lady in the show, even though she is the better singer, is because she is a fat black chick. Not a good image. Rachel on the other hand is a great singer, although not as good as Mercedes, and is a cute skinny white chick with curves.
