I don't understand the hate Marilyn Manson gets for resembling Rozz Williams. They're both completely different kinds of artists, and Manson is definitely a Rozz fan. Rozz Williams didn't invent his looks, he borrowed them from other things. It's the heart that matters, not the costume. Media Blitz was an early eighties punk rock cable tv show based in orange county but also telecast in parts of LA and San Diego. Thanks largely to the help of Flipside magazine and GoldenVoice concerts Media Blitz was able to get some really great bands like Christian Death, Specimen, Black Flag, Toy Dolls, Tones On Tail, The Addicts, to name a few... The show was never syndicated and last aired in 1987 which is why you've probably never heard of it...

Rozz (Roger Alan Painter) was my friend, and I'd thought I had convinced him to not commit suicide in 1988, however sadly I was wrong, and still to this day my favorite poem I wrote for him.

I love Rozz and I believe almost everything he dose. I hate the fact that his band got stolen from him it was unfair. I love this song - it's probably my favourite Christian Death song. To me, Rozz is dealing with his struggle understanding the world and Christianity. 'Burning crosses on a nigger's lawn' could refer to the KKK and 'take off your clothes, I'm so tired' relates to his homosexuality. Also, since the album is titled 'Only THEATRE of Pain' he feels that all this is all on show. That's my interpretation of it =) It's a great album, and this is a great song!
