We are thinking about installing eight bells for ringing in the tower of our church in California (there are no other bells hung for change ringing here that I know of). What do you suppose the minimum dimensions for the ringing chamber ought to be? It looks as though this room is about 20 feet across.
it can vary upon place. I have rung at some really small towers, and some very large ones. If you only have a small space then installing a light ring is advisable.
I'd been ringing for 20 years and I would get some smart Alec who'd probably only been ringing for five trying to tell me how to do it! You needs lots of patience since, as in most walks of life, there's lots of ego's in the belfry!
I thought St Clements although there were so many mistakes that it is hard to be 100% and the sound die's about 2/3rds of the way through the video, interesting anyway
You're so lucky - I was only allowed to chime until the age of 12, but since my 12th birthday was 15 April 2000, my instructors obtained special permission for me to ring full-circle for New Year's Day 2000!

I've only been ringing for 3 months, yet I'm now ringing patterns; I've rung grandsire already only 12 weeks in.
