  • Finally, a car of today. Love it.

  • its rocket i love

  • Why would you whant to chage the rear tires alot of cars now have run flat tyres and I suspect that they are runflats so they don't have to carry a spare tire it give more room and less weith to haul around but as far as remouving the rear side cover i dont think it would be that hard to remouve for service remember the old car with side skirts you could remouve them without no tools. I love this car.

  • It´s a plug-in-hybrid-vehicle! That means, you (can) charge the battery with energy from the grid. The claimed 261 mpg are just possible for shorter distances with a fully loaded battery. Volkswagen says, the car has a range of 550 km with 10 liters diesel. That´s a mileage of 130 mpg. Not bad, too.

But I´d prefer the predecessor VW L1: The half weight, tandem-seater and a REAL mileage of 170 mpg.

  • Looks like the rear of the car is floating

  • Daytona Beach is a shit hole compare to this landscape in Qatar...

and i bet people live better to, over there.

  • The reason the back wheels are covered would be presumable to reduce drag, which gives the car better mileage. Do you think the inside monitors are just there for looks? External mirrors create a good deal of drag. They do have been removed from this car in a practical manner. The fact that it gets such a high MPG would make me buy this car tomorrow regardless of its looks. I cant afford 100 mile trips a day at a whopping 7 miles a gallon in my 98 dodge ram? Who gives a fuck if its "cool"?

  • big differnce btween gas and desile cars in thos countrys.

desile cars are more relaiable than petrol cus its cheaper..

good combo!!! desile + electric rear tire is the problem unless its makes with thick ruber you have to change it every few years... lol

  • a lotta fags in san fran will love this.

  • @guyincognito84 no, i live in upstate new york on the border of Pennsylvania dumb ass. get it right! JESUS!

  • @guyincognito84 yeah and a lot of buck-toothed, red neck homophobes will no doubt hate it

  • only the front looks good, the side and back look ugly

  • I'm sure the people of Qatar weren't happy to hear about a landmark, gas-sipping, 261 mpg automobile!

  • @moaski even if all of a sudden all new cars in the world achieve 261mpg overnight, Qatar will still produce and sell all the gasoline they can. They just opened a new refinery a couple of months ago. Quite huge, by the way.

  • @moaski people in quatar like to drive lamborghinis and such so many rich people there

  • I love it and I am not really a fan of VW. It looks really cool and stands out against all the boring cars of today...I would get one :)

  • Good luck at changing those rear tires if one blows out. lol

  • @JoeBird76 back in the 30s-40s alot of cars had coverd back wheels like this. basicly they would jack the car up until the lugs where exsposed

  • @RadRocker9 whats the point of that? aerodynamics? it looks really ugly to me

  • @Aratixwrx Aero? Pretty much.

However, Older cars used to use them for style and it worked for them. Can't say that the integration of the wheel well covers is NOT flattering at all, but the concept is sound.

My mother had a 1970 Buick Riviera. Beautiful in silver. The covers looked like part of the cars overall design.

  • @JoeBird76 Call AAA :)
