I would say they are as close as you can get... but there is difference... the 10s clean it up a bit, and quite them down enough to make every day driving do-able!
recently switched out my flowmaster 40 series for flo-pro f4 series twisters(equivalent to flowmaster 10 series), ive tried slp, magnaflow and flowmaster. the flo pros are the best sounding muffler ive tried to far and for half the price of flowmaster 10 series they are deffinetly worth the switch. ask an exhaust specialist how they would approach building a system for your car. straigh pipes will float your vavles, you need the right backpressure. so ask a professinal before u hurt ur car
i know this isnt straight pipes, i wast just stating that it fill float your vaulves due to lack of backpressure.. i am currently running a custom made 3" H-pipe.. its a good setup, if you like an aggressive, loud car..
o ok, got ya. checked out your channel. sounds awesome. Are you custom fabbing a turbo kit or buying one to install. Ive being wanting to turbo my notch for a long time.
@GMCMan29 there's more the one way to float valves kid. lets talk about ur car for-instance.. 281 16valve, 2v per cylinder(i know im statin the obvious).. so yes when the engine is bouncing of the rev. limiter, your float both your intake and exhaust valves.. but there are 2 other ways to float valves.. one being lack of backpressure from running improperly fabbed straight pipes, the other being timing.
@604KINGfiveohh wrong man. Floating the valves is what happens when the RPMs are too fast for the valves to open and close fast enough for the valvetrain to handle. If your talking about my car, the rev limiter is set a 6000rpm and these engines without a rev limiter can handle over 7k until they float the valves, a rev limiter is there to prevent this, so hitting the rev limiter is not floating the valves. And straight pipes will never float valves EVER
@GMCMan29 because if that was the case, top fuel dragsters with open headers would run according to your logic. So you lost all credibility. King 5.0 my ass. Your probably the jackass that runs 2" exhaust because you "need" backpressure hahaha, I had an 82 Olds Firenza with a 1.8 4cyl with a straight pipe, its been straight pipes for 7 years now and she is still driving around and works like a top. Also she would spin to 8K RPMs before she would float the valves, you dont know how that sounds
probalby the dumbest things you could do is put 1 chamber's on there... That will mess with your engine unless you have over 430 Hp which i doubt you do.... Sounds good though
How did you come up with 430hp? It won't mess with the engine. If you're talking about backpressure, that's not an issue with this set-up. SLP sells a LM1/LM2 kit that has a straight-through resonator (no muffler) with less restriction than these 10 series...I doubt all the people runnin these are messing with their engines. The X-pipe creates some backpressure by itself anyways. Thanks for the comment though! This is my cousins car now, I bought another one, with a similar set-up.
Not really.. you should only be lookin to spend about 3k or so for a stock one in decent condition.. if its gonna be 5k, it better be REALLY nice and low miles. and its an LX too, not DX
well I sold it to my cousin alittle over a year ago for $3,500! haha but I would say, including the car, it would cost you somewhere around 8-9k to duplicate it.. OR you could find one already done and do all the small mods yourself, and be into to it for around 6k
yes, it is a 5 speed with Pro-5.0 short shifter, and the rims came on the car... they are Weld knock-offs, the brand is Pacer (4-Lug), but I think they have been discontinued. That style rim is widely available though, you shouldn't have any problem finding a set for a decent set for cheap. Check eBay or craigslist even.
dude uve got way too much time on your hands if your filming yourself drive by your parents house not even going that fast with a little stock rebuilt 302
Come on man. We all love mustangs. Limit the mudslinging. Besides I think this was intended to be more of an exhaust video rather than a go fast video.
Buddy look at you taking your own time out of your "busy schedule" Im sure to make a lame attempt of hurting his feelings. Who gives a shit dude its called youtube for a reason dont ya think? Get a life bro.
you missed the point, this is a rough video--not an edited masterpiece--to show how the exhaust sounds at different levels of acceleration. You just stick to your music studio stuff and leave us true mustang enthusiasts to our videos
yes it is louder... I had super 44's before. They make them still, but they are hard to find. They are generally a track only muffler. They are built VERY small ( 6"'s a believe), so that if you NEED a muffler at a track but without a set decibel limit to be met you can put one of these on there. If you use the 10 series I promise you, you will be happy. make sure to dump it!
I bored it out for power. its normally a 302ci engine. and you can bored it and make the cylinder alittle larger (by 4ci's). Had to get bigger pictons and everything. And I did it myself at a machine shop... its a very common 5.0 mod, and any car machine that knows anything about the 5.0 can do it easily.
could you let me know , how you raised the rear end up like that , i have a 1991 LX mustang aswell , 5.0 .. and i want my read end that high , what wheels are you running , any info would help.
