@shawnhbkdx90 yes, that's option 4 I detailed above - but Peter Howell got it wrong - it was twice - Carnival of Monsters episode 2 and Frontier in Space episode 5. But Peter Howell is a music producer and not a Doctor Who fan - I don't expect him to get things like that quite right.
i love the pertwee era, this was the days before vcrs became common,my mate at schools dad had a vcr, dont know what it was,the size of a house,i always remember him being obsessed with this and paper lace the pop group,i stayed at his house and they were al i ever heard for a week, lost touch when we left primary school aged 11 and 12 in 1976
were can i find the version that was only used once? in jon pertwee's?

@shawnhbkdx90 There wasn't one that was used "once" in Jon Pertwee's
1) There was a version of these titles with the 1967-69 version of the tune (longer build up) used for a few stories in 1971.
2) The end titles for these were flipped upside down for a few episode of The Green Death in 1973.
3) All 1970 stories had experimental ways of showing the story names.
4) There were a couple of episodes with an electronic arrangement of the theme in 1973

Nice video.
But why do you use Spearhead from Space for the opening and The Green Death for the closing? Can't you just use the Spearhead closing as well?
BannedFromThisSite 2 years ago
Because the closing theme for Spearhead wasn't the one usually used, plus those were the only two Pertwee DVDs available at the time.

i like how they did the title [the "zoom-in" look had a suitably dramatic spin to it]
