Yeah... They did build the body, but they didin't want to give it back. So the BMW actually had to steal it back. I can't say it's 100% truth, but atleast that's what i heard. Also the Top Gear mentions it too
I would absolutely love to see one of these cars in person. What a beautiful noise from a flat 6. Not very flat 6 sounding, and not quite v8 sounding.. but whatever it "sounds" like, it's glorious.
That's because it's not a flat six. This is a BMW, not a Porsche, It's a 3.8 liter straight six, that in some forms (turbo) was capable of producing up to 800bhp. And to anyone who claims this sound is from another car... I was there in '06 at this very same tent, that is, in fact, how a big six with a nasty cam and a lot of power, sounds.

no, thats how the engine sounds, That was at limerock park for the vintage festival and it was in the bmw tent, NO V8's were in the area at all..

The M1 procar is really the Sportscar the the best Sound BMW ever built.. (my opinion)
