This song is so incredibly moving for me, this version especially. Makes me so nostaligic for the 80's. Nick deserved so much more accolade for his musical talent and beautiful voice.
Una de mis bandas favoritas. Su LP Broadcast (si lo oyes completo) es una bella pieza de arte y de producción de estudio bastante pro en su tiempo (80s) Te lo recomiendo. Saludos desde Cancun!!!!!!
Saw these guys at Bath University in 1987 - it was a fantastic gig and the crowd kept chanting Died in you arms - they ended up playing it about 5 times! - happy memories!
though without saxophone sound its still very rich with the wonderful guitar riff.instead. the record version the saxophone playing melody always made me picture of wide, mysterious desert area of sahara. both versions are wonderful.
Brill - followed Nick after The Drivers at East Grinstead, then the Cutting Crew. What a guy, pwoar!!! Loved those uniforms and pixie boots he used to wear in The Drivers - Tears on My Anorak - fantastic!!!!!!!!!
These guys were in my opinion one the best bands of 80's and 90's. The potential was huge, but was short lived from the greed of record companies. I dearly wished i had seen them..:( Then Kevin Mcmicheal died and it was done. THe sound he had was very distinct, equivalent to the edge for the sound of U2. RIP in peace, dude. Thanks for loving memories.
This was easily my favourite track on Broadcast! I searched for years trying to find this album on CD back in Canada. Finally I found it. Thanks for posting this live version. I hadn't heard it live before. It's even better.
I remember hearing that possibly a movie Sahara would be made and the song "Sahara" would be used as the theme song. However, must have fallen through... would have been #1 in my eyes if this was put forth. Love the song..... and watching Kev playing solor on guitar.....
