As for $ it all depends on how much pwr u want, if u want some great info go to xr5ownersclub. com we are all members there and all ur questions about modding can be answered. Basically I have spent about 10-13k extra on mine but u dont need to do that, if you spend about $500 u will notice a difference already small mods like an air filter etc will make her go better :)
@Trendywun Thanks mate! I will give it a crack! I really want to buy one but at the same time i'm not sure because there's a new one coming out this year/next with a awesome looking interior aswell, i'm not loaded lol so I can't trade her in straight away. tough decision.
@hawker1873 basically it come down to the $ the Golfs nice but look at what you can do to personalize the focus with the extra $5-8k you can save! Basically I wanted a car that was different from all the others on the road. Don't get me wrong the GTI is great but this cars now way faster than stock and looks sexy. Also I like the manual gearbox, there's nothing like the exhaust popping as you go through the gears :P Good luck mate with which ever one you get :)
@Trendywun cheers mate! now you're making me lean towards the xr5 :P do you reckon it would be easy to upgrade the stereo on it to an aftermarket one? because i don't want to rip the whole car apart just for some speakers lol
Are you in australia? i have a 2000 focus and after watching this video those cars have come a long long way. would love one of the newer ones

Awesome info in there also some on after market Head Unit installation :)
