  • Where did you get the shift knob?

  • Hey can u make a video on how u install it under the car because I have one but I'm confused on how to put it if u can just like take a pic or a small vid I will really apre. Thank you!

  • where did you buy this?

  • shouldve just bought a stick

  • @GuSSxxxBuSS813 Running a Viper T-56 6-speed now, and gotta say, for straight line - miss the built auto.

  • @MustangAficionado thats fuckin sick lol. i know you probly like the straight shifting but i totally support the t-56 6speed. you turned this car from being awesome to fuckin insane lol make more vids of it

  • @GuSSxxxBuSS813 This car is officially retired to the mustang gods, Future vids will be of my gutted and caged new edge GT.

  • where did you buy it and how much was it please give me a link where you bought it thanks!

  • Lol wow just realized what I wrote never mind I figured it out kool vid!!

  • foo aint got no shoes on!!

  • Now can you just put it in drive and drive around without having to shift and what about 5th and 6th overdrive

  • what exactly do you mean lock out 4th?

  • Comment removed

  • that shifter is badass!!! thumbs up for the barefeet lol

  • @TheMastaCheef First Off, Either your bitching because a Mustang will blow the doors off your Sunfire or you cant afford one. Second, An automatic is faster then a manual if it has work done. And Third Fuck Off!

  • @Chase389 Lol, you've never ridden in the fourth gen mustangs, have you? They're cheapshit plastic. All of it. Every piece of the interior is tacky, plastic, and shitty.

Do you even own a car yet? "BLOW THE DOORS OFF YOUR SUNFIRE BRO!!!!!!!!" Shit, that was intense. Go drown at the bottom of a lake.

  • @TheMastaCheef 4th Generaton? What the fuck? Im sorry dumbass but we tell mustangs apart by SN95, S197, Foxbodys, and Edges. Not "fourth gen" And im pretty sure I didn't capitalize "blow the doors off your sunfire bro" Or put 9 fuckin explanation marks. And "Go drown at the bottom of a lake" What are you like 10?

  • @Chase389 Yeah, fourth generation. SN95. Actually, I like fourth generation more. Fuck the fourth generation mustangs.

Yeah, I'm 10. You got me. Mocking someone requires that you be no less and no more than 10 years of age.

    WAY TO GO BRO!!!!!

  • @TheMastaCheef My mustang currently has no interior and a cage if that makes everything better.

  • @MustangAficionado I guess so. The cars themselves look kinda cool.. but the interior kills it.

  • @TheMastaCheef So are you a Chevy boy or do you just hate SN95's for some reason?

  • hey man thats bad ass where did you get it i cant find it on the web. can you tell me where you got yours?

  • whats the point of that when u can do all that with a stock shifter?

  • @smokinZ71 thats true

  • no shoes?

  • i have a question....does this do anything different from your stock shifter? because it seems like i can do the same thing with my stock one.

  • where did you get that circular knob? I am about to order but i dont like the T shaped one

  • @Mr04MustangGT Haha, no one likes the T knob. It was called the B&M quicksilver knob when I bought it, the ones i see now online the design is a little more fancy. See link in description for picture of it.

  • Im looking to get one of these for my 04 gt...what else is needed besides a stall convert? I want to be able to downshift w/o totally ruining my tranny...any advice?

  • @Mr04MustangGT A stall converter doesnt help shifting at all. Shifting is going to be based on clutch packs, but mainly in the customizable sense having to do with the valve body (and/or its modifcation) and the shift kit you use. The point is to not comprimise clutch pack overlap, so sustained line pressure is needed.

  • Someone obviously wishes they bought a manual.

  • thats fuckin sweet!!!

  • So when we kick the shit out of you dodge fags you know what hit you.

  • Aint it funny how you mustang gurus ALWAYS have to show us whats done to your cars before we see the video! why is that reckon?

  • Only of my only video's like that, may have one more out of 30 or so. In this case, im reviews a modification, so modifications are listed first....since that may cause a difference in using the mod over stock. Make sense?

  • can you put it in drive and the transmission will shift by itself or will you alway have to shift 1-2-drive...

  • y would u want this? a normal manual is alot faster and better... like i can see wanting it if ur driving your car to work everyday, but.... idk just my opinion

  • Because it allows you to shift up and down one gear at a time by demand. The shift itself, is still quicker than a manual, even if the request to actual shift event is longer.

  • how much does this cost

  • @kovam1812 Manuals being faster than automatics is a widely propagated myth. When an auto isn't set up for soft shifts and geared high as a cat's back (as many are, for comfortable driving), it all comes down to driver skill when all other things are held constant.

  • love this system.. full auto with manual control...

top performance in sport driving.. and top confort for normal driving!!

love it! (and i like mustangs too) nice ride man! ;)

  • dont these ware out your tranny really fast tho?

  • thats why its best to have a manual valve body if you get one of these shifters

  • well i was deciding between this and paddle shifters

  • either way its best to have a built trans if you want to shift it manually

  • did you have a shop install it? or did you do it? is so was it hard? and if not how much was it?

  • It took awhile, but it's not hard. Just a small space and ghaving it on a lift would help. My guess is it'd cost 160-200 for someone to install if for you.

  • Thanks alot ill be getting this soon!

  • how hard and how long does it take to take out and/or put back in a tranny?

  • in a lot of other videos ive seen people only shift down to first and up to second and then drive, but are those the only gears you can "control"? and if you use the shift function will it let you keep the revs as high as you want? say if i was doing some crazy donuts i could keep the revs high without it automatically shifting? thanks for your time

  • hey a friend of mine wants to install the shifter on his 03 GT and we are stuck with the over drive bottom what should we do about it?and will this shifter will fit his 03 GT ?

  • Sorry....Just seen the name on your link

  • Im thinking about getting this same setup you have, I cant seem to find the knob on summitracing, do you know the name of it? Also I have an 03, is this the same application as 94-00? Thanks

  • Where did you find that knob? does it use the stock boot?

  • Off summitracing, yes it uses the stock B&M hammer shifter boot.

  • did u just put the shift ratchet in or do u need the whole kit

  • It sorta is a kit piece, look at the pictures in the forum in description. That's what's put in.

  • can get much faster also....

  • nice

im gonna get one 4 my lt1

  • is that an automatic?

    sick car

  • Yes, automatic built for 550 horsepower to the ground.

  • Very nice! I have a question for you... My friend has an 06' Mustang GT (5AT) & he has been looking for something like this with a Trans Go shift kit. Is this available for the 05+? & can it be used with the Trans Go shift kit? Thanks alot & thanks for the video. ~Chris

  • The transgo shift kits i know of are put in 4R70W's like mine. Your friend has a 5R55 5-speed auto and is different. Although, i have heard that the transgo kits made for the older 5R55 E-seriers for vans can also work for the mustang's auto but you'll need a new tune and i have no experience with that so can not recommend it myself. Let me know if you have any more q's through pm'ing me.

  • Thanks for the reply, I will show him your video & let him read this. He just got the car so he really just started looking around for this stuff. He was going to get a manual but his wife drives it sometimes & she can't drive stick, so he went with the auto. Well, thanks again for the help =)

  • man your mustang hauls ass

    4.6L?

  • Thanks. Yeah it's a SOHC 4.6. With basically the mods shown in this video. Now has PI Heads, 10.5:1 compression and stage 1 cams, i'll put some vids up as soon as i get a problem with the heads switched out.

  • i have a 95 5.0 how hard was this to install defienetly want one

  • the 95 has the AOD auto, but is fairly similar. It took about 3 hours, would take someone who hasn't taken that stuff apart before 4-5 is my guess. Not technically hard, just takes time.

  • Cool...or you could just get a manual! :/

  • "get" a manual? Like it just bolts on akin to another set of wheels? Not every car came with a t-45 or tr-3650, so there are cars out there in good condition that are auto's - foolish to ignore them. So make lemonade out of lemons by building the transmission and using a different shifting assembly

  • No..get a manual as in buy a Mustang with a manual insted of buying an auto and putting a shifter in it to make it look like a manual :B

  • It not put in to look like a manual - B&M shifters like this have been around since the 60's, cant get too much more American than grinding through the gears in a B&M

  • You cant grind through gears in an auto.

  • wow that sounds like a sweet mustang what exuast do u have

  • SLP catted x-pipe, and magnaflow magnapack mufflers on a custom fabricated side pipe set-up.

  • they sound great

  • Thanks, appreciate it.

  • yea you can, bangin through the gears with the man pedal

  • Dude, where are your shoes? :) Motor sounds pretty healthy! Ya gotta learn to use both feet to foot-brake it at the drags! Thanks for the video!

  • hey man, I don't really know much about how ratchet shifters work, but I'd definitely like some more transmission control.

Once you instal this, is there a way for you to have it shift automatically if you don't feel like shifting?

    -thanks a lot

  • Yes, you still have the Drive position. The difference is you "ratchet" into each position instead of sliding the shifter into position. The tranny is still the same.

  • hey thanks a lot, I'm definitely going to get one now, they seem pretty sick : )

  • 5.0 or 4.6?

  • 1996 on are 4.6's

  • nice racing shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how did u get it to look so good vs the ugly stock appearance

  • The whole shifter assembly comes like that, all i changed was the knob

  • would this work on my 04 gt

  • yes it would!

  • would this set up work on my 04 gt? how did u get it to look so clean? when i look at the item on the internet it looks ugly

  • Exactly what I've been looking for my automatic '01, how much did it cost you with installation?

  • 199.99 for the shifter. Like 40 for the different knob. Im not sure on what the install would be, they would proly charge you like 200-250 - its not very fun

  • Keep in mind that manually shifting is optional. I can keep it in drive also and it will do the .20 second or so shifts when the tranny decides, then there is no command delay that you see due to me not holding it to redline

  • It's just confusing. Why didn't get a manual?

  • Cuz i didn't wanna pass up a good deal on a car just based on it being an auto. Can you upshift in .19 seconds?

  • No, but your tranny doesn't seem to response the moment you upshift. It took a while for it to shift. I didn't hear an instant pitch change right after you upshift. So I really doubt that car shifts in .19 of a second.

  • You're right- the 4R70W is sluggish when not properly tuned. I have my 4R70W set to the quickest shift settings and it's unbelievably quick.

  • the shift DELAY is based on how much throttle i give it and what gear it's in. i.e. If it goes into 3rd gear or D, then the CPU will decide when to shift. If i hold it to red line it does it when told to (watch my (near) full throttle video. And just because it waits till the opertune time to shift, doesn't mean the shift itself is slow. It varies between .19-.25 at the moment

  • it operate the same way as modern triptonic. Just since this is a 11 year old car, it needs to be mechanical instead of electronic.

  • reminds me of an auto tiptronic trans

  • no, it comes w/ a chrome b&m T-handle which i dont like, so that's a b&m quicksilver knob. The red buton is used to lock-out 4th gear (overdrive) which isn't needed when under hard acceleration cuz it's mainly for saving fuel. Also if you're in 4th gear and you press this is down shifts into 3rd gear, your stang should already have this button - this just looks different. Thanks for the complimens, it's a lotta fun

  • hey man these videos are sick... the car is sick. I'm looking into getting the same shifter... is that the knob the kit came with? oh and what does the red botton do I couldn't really catch what you said... anyways nice videos. thanks

  • It's a B&M hammer shifter BTW, powershifter is a synonym for what it does.
