Less government is what got us into this mess in the first place. They repealed some law that was put into place after the Great Depression that would have helped prevent this mess. Sweet!
More regulation and / or oversight might have helped also. Anyway, if you listen to Elizabeth Warren they aren't doing jack to keep the banking industry in line AGAIN so nothing seems to be changing sadly.
Too many politicians are getting too much money from banks and businesses.

If "less government" means "less oversight and less regulation" then yes, partially I suppose (many folks took out loans they couldn't afford, I get that).
There's a reason our elected officials go to work for lobby firms after they leave office - BIG money. Do their bidding while you're in office and you'll hit pay-dirt soon afterwards. Obstruct and dilute any kind of reform you can so they can continue business as usual - nice huh?
