  • That´s a cool ride dude.

I also wanna ride a bike in NYC too.

  • Goody, now i won't have to go there

  • man you cyclists in NY must have absolute power. you can cycle anywhere! must piss alot of motorists and pedestrians off lol

  • damn i wish i lived somewhere where the bikes went faster than the cars

  • @whodat7788

    Pizzicato Five

  • What's the point of driving a car in the city?

  • 29 people ride spandex in the park

  • jeeeeze 4:25 silver people carrier choose a lane ffs ..daaaaaam !

  • i saw the cash cab!! 3:50

  • Haha, i bet the 29 people who dislike this drive cars!

  • I used to ride like this. Play it alot safer now. Mainly becuase I live in seattle and its so bike friendly here most of those risky moves are completly unnecessay

  • woah how many times have you been struck by a vehicle?

  • So what's your opinion on single speed vs. fixed?

  • @doogie1222 Depends on my mood.

  • Why don´t you use motobikes? Is it forbidden in USA?

  • Is there a big need for bike messengers in NYC?

  • oh dang. tight spots.

  • nice :) what song?

  • name of this song?

  • oh never mind...in the description lol

  • Nice video. Song reminds me of Lemon Jelly.

  • City Cycling at its finest! Loved every second.

  • yeh. seriously, u go faster if u ride a bike as apposed to riding in a car. Altho the rider cut off like 50 cars haha

  • he cuts of no one.. he runs a few reds but dosnt cut off any cars.

  • This video is amazing. really can't thank you enough for posting it. all the people there should ride bicycles.

  • Your video is amazing, I watched it all with a big smile! Rush hours are SO FUN with a bike!

  • cool vid

  • fastest way to get around in ny

  • Ha Ha--reminds me of crossing the border from Canada to the U.S. today on my MTB. Big lineup for hundreds of feet--no problem. Just cruised on by all the cars like in the vid. When I came back a half hour later I think some of them were still waitng--LOL.

  • Wow, awesome. It must be a mixture of adrenaline and fun to drive like this. Would like to do this myself. But here in Germany i think you got killed by an accicent driving trough a few stop lights.

    Greetings from Lower Bavaria

  • great vid! Love to ride like that in nyc - fun and exciting and no doubt dangerous stoned, ipod blasting,no helmet, dodging traffic, running red lights(don't mean shit in nyc)hoping not to get "doored" - now I live in LA -biking here is even MORE dangerous because the drivers suck here and they're all on the phone. When I pull my NYC moves in traffic here drivers really freak out because the spatial concepts are different. What looks like a tight squeeze in LA would be considered plenty of room

  • 2:51 sped up real nice

  • lol i drive a lil crazy but i live in queens and i get honked alot for how i ride... u must get the begeezez honked out of you right ? have u ever crashed ? have u damaged any cars ? y not wait at the red lights ? lol ty if u answer

  • hey, I never visited New York yet but when I do I'm going to bring my bike there lol. But is it legal to bike like that in the streets of ny? hope you respond thanks.

  • of course it's not legal to drive like that, but as the messangers drive quite safe as they are used to do they are not chased by the police. they are just to many and too fast and it's hard to believe but they barely cause accidents.

  • yeeeah!

cool vid with great music, street-speed with some cool attitude is awsome. ;)

(i've got a motobecane le_champion '83 to rumble down the streets daily -however i kept the orig. huret 10 speed system on it).

  • i hated the music, but the video was very good, very clever!

  • it's in the description

  • 2:29 yessssss

    :D

  • I'm totally down for owning cars all day long, but some of those red lights he blows threw like a true asshole. Props on being alive still.

  • whats your handle bar length?

  • Nice Video! What did you use to edit it?, I'm trying to make a bike video myself

  • i had a smaller camera duct taped to a helmet, with some random heavy junk (tools) taped to the other side to offset the weight on just one side of the helmet. i looked like captain insaneo, but obviously in NY nobody really gives a shit. crazy people are seen daily.

i edited with adobe premiere pro.

  • what's your average speed?

  • heh, someone sounds jealous

  • It boggles my mind why would anyone drive a cage in a city core. You all look like selfish douchebags rotting in your boxes. Nice video and yes mistating should choke on a thousand ape cocks, silly boy.

  • shut the fuck up mistating...you'll never EVER have the balls to do what messangers do. EVER. Go play some guitar hero douche bag.

  • i've had a few bad spills. one left me with scars that are still present on my arm. nothing extremely serious though, and i've only crashed into a car once.

i'd say it's at least 2 decently bad crashes a year that leave a mark or break some part of my bike, and then a handful of minor stuff like scrapes or bruises in between.

obviously it mainly depends on how much you ride and where, and if you're drunk or not. haha

  • weird

  • Does it always looks so close or isnt it? :-D

well, its a nice video with chill music but America isnt my Country...specialy in big citys like Manhatten or NY.

I live in Germany and love it because of the MOuntains...maybe this is why i do freeride.

I Would like to hold me on a car like you have done :-D...must be great^^

    it's Tony Hawk style :-D

  • love freeride... and love fixie about just as much.. which is why i like living within 30 minuts of downtown big cities and also downhill/freeride spots

  • if you're stopping or slowing down, it's simply to keep your balance if you're just going to sit there for a bit, don't have to put your foot down or do a track stand if you don't feel like doing one/don't have the room to do one.

otherwise I may do it just to sort of feel if the car is going to do something.

Frequently i'll also hold onto cars for a nice ride/turbo boost if the conditions warrant it.

  • well im pretty sure its the greatest in the northern states, i live in AZ and this frijole is baked in a few mins, but i still ride along! any 1 know where i can get a fixie for "cheap"?

  • 1. find a used road bike frame circa the 80's that isn't too heavy

    2. drop about $200 on ok parts (wheel, cog, tires, footcages, etc.)

    3. cut old aluminum drop bars into bullhorns

    4. ?????

    5. PROFIT

  • yo watch these sick videos i made there sick rate them please theres mad crashes just type in bmxharro and there are all my videos

  • lol, looks like riding a bike is much faster then driving a car in the nyc

  • sure is. u don't need this video to see that. of course distance plays a major role though

  • awesome.

do people ever honk their horns at you though when you just swerve through traffic? or is that a normal thing?

  • rarely, because you are there and gone within a couple seconds, why bother honking the horn?

however people in NY tend to just lay on their horns sometimes for no apparent reason.

  • so is that how most people ride through the city?

  • super szar

  • really nice this video^^

  • i like that picture that u can see on the last second

  • this is why it's better to ride a bike then to drive a car when we dont go out of a city!!

Its faster more energy eficient SAY NO DO GLOBAL WARMING!

  • dude ior crazeeeeeeeeeee

  • nice...i love it...nice driving,NYC seems cool-im from europe!!

maybe sub4sub,anyone who wants can suscribe me and i ll suscribe him just visit my channel and give me a comment

    really nice video 5*****

  • Awsome dude absolutely

  • thankyou so much for posting this and editing it so well!

  • I really liked this. Im not sure why.

    But I love it.

  • Why don't riders take more of an outside(rightside) line? When I watch these vids I can see that there is a decent line on the far right side.

  • When you do it, you become a sensory robot and just flow through the traffic like water, making split second decisions, taking the path of least resistance. It's hard to describe.

The reason you don't just stay only in the right lane all the time is simple: people make right hand turns/try to park frequently. It would slow you down/stop you way too much.

  • wow nice skill

  • yaa really

  • NYC traffic seems crazy. You are fearless, man. I was cringing when you were making your way between some of those cars haha. That maneuver at 5:20, between the taxis, was nutso. This Towa Tei beat was a good choice, too.

  • no traffic rules in ny?

  • awesome video and the music is somewhat tolerable for a change.

  • Is this all with a fixed gear bike with no brakes?

  • Awesome riding skills. Awesome way to end it with the bus sandwich at the end. Here's and idea every1 quit complaining about $4 for a gallon of gas and ride your bike. No car payment, no insurance, free parking. You vote with your wallet, lets screw the oil companies.

  • I rode in the city once, from 59th street to Wall. I didnt have a helmet at the time I was 17 lots of fun though. Very cool vid.

  • RAD, looks very cool. Time for a bike revolution. Just dont get run over dude. I guy i ride with occasionally was hit by a car who ran a red light. Smashed his shin up real bad, totally splintered. Still riding, but it took a long long time to recover.

Something awesome about pissing off drivers, and being faster than cars.

  • I really enjoy this video, awesome riding dude. anyone that bashes it needs to try this, and make their own video, they have very little idea of what its like. that taxi part is sweet. are you ever going to film another ride? please do!

  • awesome video! I see you bikers all the time. crazy, ever been hit before?

  • sure, a few minor times, however once i slammed straight head on into a car pretty fast. i flew onto the front hood, i figure it looked like a cartoon. haha.

i was fine, but my front forks were bent in a good one, they took all the inertia =[

the driver was just pissed, he took off the second he got the chance. probably because after i slid off the hood and got up, i was already laughing about it. =p

  • its not a "front forks" its a FORK. theres only one...

  • thank you for the correction. I hadn't really ever thought about it.

"theres" and "its" should have an apostrophe right before the S on both of them, as they are contractions of "there is" and "it is".

  • owned. lol

  • i'll give that to him

  • pontolones , whats the name of this tune? who is it done by? thanks.

  • Towa Tei - Technova

  • very cool, thank you.

  • excellent video but if you run into my car i'll strangle you like a good new yorker.

  • dont tink ur sum G star blud

  • yo! amazing!

    which handlebars do you use?

  • those i believe were regular drop bars, it was my friends bike. My favorite, though, are bullhorns cut from drops.

  • and what do you think bout the nitto-aero-bullhorns? any experience with that stuff?

  • never tried it, but it looks like the only difference is that you get is a larger flat area to hold, and a lower drop than cut bullhorns, so you'll be bent over more, which is good/bad, depending on how you like to ride.

Also it seems you lose the flat straight front of the bar for casual slow riding.

My advice is to save your money and just find some old aluminum drops and cut them into bullhorns, it's super easy, and cheap/costs nothing/has pretty much the same performance.

  • yea, its really hard to turn... 1/5

  • You are awesome at manouevering! 5/5

  • TRAFFIC = OWNAGED

  • crazy shit! check out my crazy shit lemme know what ya think man flipping a bike

  • nice video, wish my city was congested for that reason

  • apples and oranges, my friend.

  • some ace skillz ther boy!

  • don't grab on to the garbage truck for a break, grab on to a taxi. They're much quicker, and they usually don't mind.

  • I miss the sounds of the city! I'm in Florida for the semester and feel a little home sick missing my NY! what songs were used?

  • Why do people bother with cars in NYC they don't seem to move

  • Williamsburg Bridge

  • what/ wher s that first bike/walking bridge at? it was in a BMX movie of mine and i always wanted to know where it was so when i go to new york i could ride there.... sweeet vide too man

  • thats so cool. skitchin on that trash truck, man that was cool.

  • bike > car

  • SWEEEEEEETTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

  • boring a little

  • The riding is actually pretty good. It is very fluid, and I think I only counted 1 track stand. Its a hell of a lot faster than the traffic. Besides, NYC cab drivers are nuts. Its definitely fucking dangerous. Oh and one more thing......

yes, cyclists can go on red lights. why? because we just don't fucking care.

if any of you rag on this riding, make your own video. i give props to the rider for even putting it up.

  • oh the beloved willy-b

  • lol bikers can go when there's red light? ya wanna get hit by a car lol? :D

  • i dont see whats so great about this video its just you riding around

  • as someone who walks the streets, I don't know how to feel about this guy.

  • lol nice move with the garbage car!

  • ok, we get it you were holding the trash truck... btw I'm tellin..=) weren't you still pedaling?

  • aren't you on skates ?

  • "Really slow pizza" now that guys just lazy. Nice video.

  • gosh .,what s the space between the cars?:-)

    pretty cool

  • HEY! I saw myself!

  • i love how he squeezes through the two taxis at the end hahahaa

  • what is the name of this song?

    I love this video!

  • hey tamerettonpere, they just released a study that says that 708 percent of the people who say "your gay" are actually gay themselves. The good news is society is very accepting of you, all you have to do is learn to accept yourself.

Nice video by the way. I used to take the same route.

  • very very cool. i love riding my bike. especially when i get to go down to downtown toronto and zoom past all those people stuck in traffic and not able to move. one day i hope i can do this.

and nice skitch on the garbage truck =p

  • i grabbed onto a much faster delivery truck during taping as well, but i found out my battery was dead later on.. it's hard to find fast traffic to grab in NY.

  • thanks for the video..nice to see the city froma bikers point of view....long live the fixies..ride safe, one less car.

  • Congratulations my friend, I liked it, I do the same everyday to go to work, but in Mexico City!!!, this is a big challenge because some streets are in bad conditions and drivers are an ass holes. May be someday I'll record my way at work and show it too.

  • this is a pretty weak video. why would you hang on to that garbage truck, its going way slowwer than how fast you can ride. when you blow the red lights its supposed to be a smooth move in which youdont get in cars ways or pedestrians or even slow them down. you make cars as well as pedestrians stop. youre weak and slow.

  • very well made, love it! makes me wanna jump on my bike and record a clip too!

  • haha thanks, people needed to know that it was special and that i have no idea how i did it.

  • Manhattan*

  • williamsburg bridge, from brooklyn into manhatten

  • who was the first song by?

  • I believe that is Towa Tei "Technova" from 1996. Great choice, riding that samba beat.

  • you are correct sir, thanks

  • the bars are abve the mirrors or something

  • Very nice...very nice.

  • dude can u go thru red lite on NYC?

  • WTF IS THIS!

  • song at the end is beck's "girl"

  • WOW, thanks for the nice job! I feel like I'm there, bleezing through the city myself.

  • yes yes yes! too much fun. i just got back from a ride and now i want to go back out ~!!

  • Nice video, though i'm never gonna ride this way. seems risky.

  • Nice video!

Is it Williamsburg brg - Delancey st - Kenmare st - Lafayette st - 4th ave - Union sq - Park ave - 42nd st - Broadway?

  • a keen eye and a good memory

  • IT's a Beck tune, don't remember which

  • and the song in the very end? does anyone know it?

  • The song is "Girl" by Beck ;)

  • it's beck's "girl"

  • good footage & music

  • sick how you weave right through all the peds and cars. nice man. what kinda wheels you riding?

  • thanks! it's towa tei - technova, off the album 'future listening'
