I'd be so frustrated after a while. But this is good work you made. But that does not really make the kinect a viable method of control. Mouse and keyboard/gamepads are still superior for this type of game I think. The aiming with the kinect is much like aiming with the WII, it works. But i'd rather use my mouse.

My point is legit. Why waste time doing stuff most people (including this person most likely) know isn't going to work well enough to practically apply to the game when you could do other stuff. I never liked motion detector controller, cause I don't want to look like a complete retard while playing a game. Until they make it where it detects your EVERY movement, even when you run (stand on a platform that works like a treadmill that's off) then I might take interest.

@IxProvenxI hmm, what was that movie (animated or not, i forgot) where a person walked on a blue surface which made a robot walk. With how the technology is growing, I wouldn't be surprised if they made something like this (not talking about controlling a robot, but a motion walking detector for a gaming device). I know it wouldn't be exactly like the movie.

Also, ^^ my one mention of not liking motion games is not the only one. I feel like these motion devices aren't perfected yet.

@theReaper0908 Your right everything is too new to be perfect. But until we need to lean forward in a game, I think that works as the mapped movement for going forward. I do like the idea of blue carpet vs treadmill though. I just think if we used the kinect for character movements, then used a gun/wii controler/PS move for the weapon it would be perfect, but xbox says you can only use your body. Put Kinect w/ PS move and I think we could nail some really good games. never going to happen though

@IxProvenxI I use both the Kinect and Wii on the PC together in multiple games. I use a wheel along with it in GTA4.. You can use a free program called Glovepie to map the Wiimote to the keyboard. There is also a program called Pinnacle profiler which isn't free but is far more intuitive but not as versatile.

That doesn't add up to me. The move doesn't work for the PC and there isn't' any button mapping of the Kinect for the Xbox.. You should try before you pass judgement. If you don't like it after using it, then i can't fault you. Just give a valid reason other then one of being a pessimist.

@AlexorPwnsAll yeah, too many mistakes can be made with movement controls. controllers give the element of precision that you wont get with movement based controls. although voice commands can be incredibly useful. i find that having to go into menus to change my equipped inventory breaks the flow of combat. voice control should definitely be implemented
