  • how do you make sound effects

  • Comment removed

  • Why is there no longer a demo of visionlab studio I really needed it because I got a new computer.

  • @uuum1 VisionLab has been replaced by HitFilm. Check out hitfilm.com for full details!

  • This was a GREAT tutorial! Love the program as well! Well worth the money. -Film student

  • 0:21 awesome effects

  • cool

check out my channel for action effect films!

  • My demo version of this has all of its text and labels messed up. Please Help!!!

  • @Tabletop18 Please head over the Support section of the FXhome website. If you submit a support ticket our support staff can then help you out.

  • How do I move the effects to different areas on the video, I cant seem to figure it out. When I add a effect it always stays in one spot, I cannot seem to move it to a different spot on the screen...

  • @outlawradio01 As long as you've selected the object's attributes track on the timeline you'll get the controls to move it around. In the case of muzzle flashes this tutorial does explain how to move them.

  • Great Video check out my muzzle and action howto's

    /watch?v=L67FGa5Bsz0

  • ok i downloaded this and i couldnt upload vids onto it i found out that i need to change the file type how do i do this?

  • @xcstg The Lab products work with AVI and MOV video formats. Your editing software should be able to export to one of those (or both of them, probably).

  • @fxhome i dont really know alot about computers so that makes no sense to me :) sorry

  • i want a 3d muzzle flash generator for AE :p

  • I have vision lab and it seem when I render the video the flashes either dont show up or are in the wrong frames. What am i doing wrong. im rendering as a .mov help please!

  • @Fullmetal9876 Hi there - could you please head over to the FXhome website and submit a support ticket? It's much easier to diagnose and help there than on YouTube. :)

  • Well but i have got some questions. Can i use muzzle flashes from Action Essentials 2 ? Have this program motion tracking?(track motion) or you have to prepare effects individually for every frame if the camera is shaking

  • @PowerBoysPL You can use AE2 muzzle flashes if you want, yes. The Lab products do not have motion tracking.

  • I got some stock footage from your website but I can't seem to get it to work properly. Removing alpha layer doesn't seem to work and if I chroma key it it takes out to much of the stock for really nice effect. I use sony vegas pro 9 could you tell me what the best way to get rid of the backgroung for your stock fx is in this program?

  • @Fullmetal9876 It will depend on the specifics of the stock, but using a simple add or screen blend usually gets good results.

If you have any other questions it'd be best to ask through the FXhome support area, rather than in a comment on an unrelated video. :)

  • i still don't get how to get sound for my movies and how to make the vid goto windows moviemaker

  • @MultiDean98 If you're still having problems, please head over to the FXhome website's support area. The knowledgebase has articles on sound and exporting, and you can also submit a ticket.

  • This doesn't actually describe how to do it...

  • @higgins989uk How to do what?

  • i have FXhome VisionLab Studio and i dont know how to move the muzzleflash to right place! i dont have that kind of ''rotation rings''! HELP ME!

  • @ROBLOXisthebestparas Make sure you click the 'Flash attributes' track on the timeline first.

  • can you save the muzzle flashes so that they are 3d objects that can be manipulated out side of fxhome software?

  • @yankeesstink27 No, you can't do that.

  • whats the name of the program?

  • @vitnes2008 The muzzle flash system is found in FXhome's EffectsLab Pro and VisionLab Studio. Check out the FXhome website for more info.

  • that looks pretty unrealstic should be just smoke

  • @savage495 Most action movie muzzle flashes are unrealistic too. Sometimes it's about dramatic impact rather than realism - depends on the genre though, for sure.

  • @savage495 umm no when the hammer hits the primer on the caliber the flash is the explosion from the gun powder exiting the barrel. idiot lol.

  • how do you make the finished project into a video file?

  • @calumcan You need to render the project. Check out the 'render' menu.

  • @fxhome thanks for that but when i render it it says that it cannot keep the sound

  • @calumcan If you check out the knowledgebase in the FXhome website's support section there's some information on rendering with sound.

  • @fxhome ive found out now thanks a lot :)

  • 0:16 why is there a muzzle flash on that mp5 Silencer? Is that realistic?

  • @philgunman It's there because this is a tutorial specifically about muzzle flashes. :) But, no it's probably not realistic if you know your guns.

  • oh ok.

  • is this free or atleast cheep

  • @Pedr6500 It's not free but it is cheap - check out the FXhome website for full details.

  • What is the muzzle flash called that is used for the mp5 in the beginning, and also in the part when the guys are shooting the building?

  • I think they were probably custom designed muzzle flashes, rather than presets.

  • how do u sort out the time of the flash

  • how do you make it so the muzzle flash doesn't go off the screen of your video

  • how do you move the muzzle flash and other effects (for mac)

  • This tutorial explains how to move muzzle flashes, I think.

  • It's some muzzle flashes that is already done! but how do i move it like the other muzzle flashes you made self? Sorry for my bad English, that's because I'm from Sweden :)

  • I don't know how to make the muzzle flash appear for just one frame...it's really irritating. Do I mess with the rate of fire...and should I layer the effect on the video or on a seperate layer. Any help appreciated, thanks for your time.

  • If you crop the object on the timeline to only last a single frame, the muzzle flash will only be visible on that frame.

For technical support please head to the FXhome website.

  • Ok. Thanks, hopefully the support can help me there. :)

  • Put the rate of fire to 100 and set emitter on at the frames you want fire on and off at them you dont want fire on.

  • I have a JVC DV-Camcorder. Can I take the videos direct from my camera into EffectsLab Pro? If not, How do I get my videos into my computer?

    Please Help

    I'm anxious to start

  • EffectsLab can use AVI and MOV video formats, so you it depends what format you capture from your camera. Your main editing program should be able to convert the videos if needed.

  • how do I export my movie I can't find an export option anywhere (for Mac)

  • It's called 'Render'.

  • Thank You Works

  • ive got the demo version and it wont let me move the effect were i want it

  • Make sure you click on the 'flash attributes' track on the timeline.

  • Hi! I want to make a movie. And i have the demo version. Can i save the movie after i have putted on Muzzle flash? And then set it on a dvd?

  • Yep, you just need to render.

  • when i play a movie on fxhome Visionlab studio it gets realy laggy. And when set muzzle flash it wont always show because it skipps. How can i delete those grey things that makes it slow`?.

I have to play over all the pricks to get it play it clean. How can i delete all the pricks instead of using long time to play over all the pricks?

  • That's how the preview rendering system works - grey pricks indicate unrendered frames. Once you've viewed that frame, the frame is preview rendered, the prick disappears and the frame can be viewed instantly.

For more information on the pricks, check out the 'Playback & preview rendering system' video on our YouTube channel.

  • i got both compositelab pro and effectlab pro. should i then buy visionlab studio too?

  • Great tutorial, thanks.

  • I've used this software for a wile now, and i must say it's really worth the money. It's the most easiest advanced software i found so far! There are tons of settings, i still haven't figured out all of them yet =).

  • Where is the best place to buy FxHome?

  • The FXhome website. :)

  • is it free!!

  • Afraid not. :)

  • ya, where is a good site to go for for guns and machine guns sounds

  • Try soundsnap. They're the highest quality sound effects I've found. You have to create an account, but you get 5 free sounds a month, instead of paying.

  • can u use the flashes for sony vegas

  • Where is a good place to get sound effects for machine guns and pistols?

  • is fxhome compatible with macs?

  • Yes.

  • hey i cant open a video i made on windows movie maker i tryed savin it as a movie and a project and it still wont do it plz help :D

  • Head over to the FXhome website for support.

  • windows movie maker is a wmm file so it can't work with it only avi so click the thing that says save to computer then when you reach the part where it has video options click more options then click on an avi one then save and then you can open it in fxhome

  • Very easy, you have to save your video as .avi

  • thanks :P

  • what version is it? CS4?

  • I plan on getting this software, but need to know if I need to buy additional software for conventional editing. Can I cut and trim video clips, create a video timeline, and add music and sound effects with this software? Thanks.

  • No, the Lab software is not designed for general editing, so you'll want to get hold of an NLE for that (Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut etc).

  • hey you have some great effects on the site but i was wondering if i could use then in adobe after effects??

  • We have two After Effects plugins, MuzzlePlug and PowerPlug. Muzzle plug contains all the muzzle flash functionality ssen in this tutorial plus some enhancements, and PowerPlug contains the lightning engine that can also be found in VisionLab Studio

  • Wow...this is awesome tutorials and wonderful program!

  • Please head over to the FXhome website for detailed support. Thanks!

  • ok now im really pissed.......whenever i click any effect in the toolbox (laser, muzzle flashes, neon light, optics, particles) it just turns blue showing me that i clicked it. nothing in the area underneath pops up. this used to never happen to me but i cant use this program at all right now because i cant use any effects!!!!!! plz respond and help me

  • Sounds like you don't have any presets installed. Please visit our website for proper support.

  • What program is this???

  • how do you change it to other types of muzzle flashes?

  • You can either adjust the settings yourself, or choose a different preset.

  • Ive been looking all over youtube for this question:

How do you modify a muzzle flash in FxHome "In front" of the actor if the footage is one taken behind the actor?

(FxHome keeps on putting the flash on top of the actor)

  • Sounds like you want to use a mask. Check out the masking tutorial over at FXhome in the support section.

  • excatly what I needed! thank you!

  • where can i download it?

  • well thanks for answering my questions i hate to be rude but theres one more would it do tornados?

  • That depends on what exactly you want it to do, as tornadoes can be a pretty complex effect.

  • id like to do a sideways tornado like a rasengan

  • does effects lab pro come with a green screen?

  • EffectsLab doesn't include greenscreen compositing capabilities (that's EffectsLab and VisionLab), so no.

  • um excuse me fx home would effects lab pro be able to do giant blasts and cool particles?

  • That's kind of a vague question. :) But EffectsLab does indeed have a particle engine and a muzzle flash engine, which might be able to do what you need.

  • thank you very much u guys rule!

  • what is the name of the program??

  • EffectsLab Pro, and VisionLab Studio. It's written just up there, in the 'more info' box. In fact, it's also written at the start of the tutorial... :)

  • Thank you!

  • well this tutorial have effects muzzle and

    efect of shoots in walls?

  • I love this software! Much easier than after effects and amazing quality!

  • how do u do that with presets ?

  • would have been nice to include a motion tracker with effects lab....

  • Yeah, motion tracking is definitely something we'll be looking into for our future software.

  • Cool do you add this on to your editing system or do you just export when your done

  • It's a standalone product, not a plugin.

  • how do you add sounds?

  • The Lab products are not designed for sound editing. You should use your main editing program for sound work.

  • but how do you like make a project file to a one that can be imported into windows movie maker?

  • You need to render out to an AVI movie.

However, I'd highly recommend upgrading to a 'proper' video editing package, as WMM is extremely limited. Check out Sony Vegas, they do a very cheap version that is vastly, vastly more powerful than WMM.

  • what about pinnacle studio do you think that would be better then WMM?

  • i use pinnacle studios do you think that would be okay or should i upgrade to?

  • Pinnacle is a step up from WMM, but still not very good. As fxhome said, choose Sony Vegas. Pro version is better, but platinum works fine! ;)

    Premier is also an option...

  • pinnacle works fine no need to change

  • so...... what program is this?

    lol i nub

  • Both FXhome VisionLab Studio and EffectsLab Pro have this feature.

Check out the FXhome website for more info.

  • When I try to put my movies in they appear on the time line but not on the screen PLZ Help!!!

  • Please head over to FXhome for support questions!

  • go to media and click on your clip!

  • Can you put a project from imovie to fxhome?

  • You can transfer video files between the products, yes.

  • yo dude im a noob on photo editing software

    fxhome is easy to use?

    doing lightsabers etc?

  • yes

  • when i click on a muzzle flash in the effect tab and add to to my video i cant move it. it is on the middle of my screen and i cant move it. what do i have to do?

    sorry for bad english XD

  • Check the manual and video tutorials. They cover the basics like moving and positioning effects.

  • at the top right corner there is a sign that says flash attributes, click on it and you can move it.

  • ok i figured how to make small but how can u convert the file or something coz if u needa edit sound it wont open this type of file

  • You need to 'render' the project to a new video file.

  • nice but how to make flash smaller?

  • how can i get visionlab to work with pinnacle studio plus 11

(when i import the video to pinnacle it shows up as a blank blue screen)

  • Sounds like you're rendering to a format not supported by Pinnacle Studio. Check your render settings to make sure you're rendering to a compatible format.

  • yeah i changed the format and now it works thanks your a life saver :]

  • Cool, I used to have to use presets and plugins cause I couldn't create my own muzzle flahses but now I can :) yay

  • i dont understand geek!

  • wow look who's talking

  • how is this even geeky? its movie making

  • i am unable to turn my uzzel flash in 3d rotation on my screen and i am unable to move it as well any suggestions?

  • does Effects lab pro work for vista because im getting it for my birthday and i dont want it to be a let down, The demo works fine on my computer so the Real thing should to Yeah?

  • Yes, all our current products work with Vista

  • Ok thanks.

  • ok i downloaded a trial version but when i select my vidoes there are no files displayed but if a open the folder elsewhere the movies are there what do i do??

  • For tech support, please visit the FXhome website.

  • It only accepts avi files.

  • Incorrect, Quicktime MOV files are also supported.

  • whenever i do anything on particles, the effect always appears on the lower-right corner of the screen and i cant move it. what do i do?

  • For detailed support, please visit the FXhome website. I'd also recommend watching the particle tutorial (this is the muzzle flash tutorial) and reading the manual.

  • Hey fxhome. nice tutorial. However, is there another tutorial that actually shows you how to impliment a muzzle flash onto your weapon?

  • This is the only video tutorial we have on muzzle flashes at this time, I'm afraid. For specific advice I'd recommend posting on the FXhome forums.

  • Hi, thank's for tutorial! But just one thing. How do you save this video to an ".avi" file?

  • You need to render it.

  • Thanks

  • Thanks for the tutorial

  • I've done all the shots on FX home, but how do i add the sound of the gun shot?

  • Using a editing program like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie.

  • thanks

  • or sony vegas

  • I have a question... I made A video from my quickcam and for some reason i cant import it...do i go to import media???

  • Please visit the FXhome website for support.

  • can u give me an exact link to the tutorial of importing media

  • YouTube doesn't seem to let you post URLs in comments. Just head over to the FXhome website, then go to the 'Support' section.

  • I also have a question. Can somebody give me a quick tutorial or something how to create a Energy Aura like super sayins have in Dragonball Z?

  • how can i put in sounds to effectslab? i try but it's not happen! can someone help me with this?

  • Effectslab isn't designed for sound editing, you should do that in your main editing program, or a dedicated audio program.

  • ok i try it! and i have one question for you, it's that possible when i make video like star wars input to movie maker and make sound from there?

  • Yep, you can simply render out your finished effects shots then edit them into your main project in your editing program, like any other clip.

  • it work now! thanks for the tip m8=mate! and i gonna shoot movie soon here to the youtube!

  • I have FXLab Pro and Composite Lab Pro. FXHOME makes an excellent product. Check out some of my tests. I recommend it to ANYONE regardless of WHAT NLE (Non linear Editor) for video you have. The price is nothing for what you get. Their VisionLab is FXLab and Composite Lab combined and then some. If you do or want to do movies and only get one piece of software, I recommend FXHome dot com. I don't work for them or get endorsed. I am simply a very satisfied customer.

  • hey guys, please watch my vid and comment on it, its a vid response on this vid. pleez watch and comment.

  • Ive just downloaded the demo version. If I can get my head around using it, I'm seriously interested in buying. Problem is, you have lots of tutorials on what FX does, and what you can do with the effects, but none on the practical applications of using it i.e. how to physically / actually apply it to your footage. - any pointers / links appreciated.

  • does effectslab have greenscreen software?

  • If you want to do greenscreen effects you need CompositeLab which is specifically designed for that sort of
