@nuttynatty320 I think the current version's actress was going more for comedic parody so the shrillness of her singing is intentional. But certainly this version is easier on the ears.
I have seen a lot of plays and shows in my life .. I mean a lot . But when I saw this I had an orgasm ... truly the best thing I have seen in my life ...
I just saw my high school production of this musical last night, it was amazing! I can't get the same feel out of this video as I did last night. I think my high school's Finch was amazing, but the Miss. Jones in this video is really good!
Radcliffe not Robert Morse but good job nevertheless. Best number in this show is "Old Ivy". Done here better than original, better than movie, better than Brodrick revival.
i loved how to succeed with daniel radcliffe. i saw it last week... i CAN NOT WAIT for the soundtack for the revival... any ideas when it will be out? i know its still in previews but daniel was amazing..
I was Miss Jones in our production. I apparently was the only girl able to sing her part, which I didn't mind. We just didn't do the scatting that comes with this revival. Other than that, ours was really similar to this.
@alyssa2394 who's monty? The lead character in this musical is named "Finch." Rumor has it Daniel Radcliffe is going to play Finch in an upcoming revival of the musical.
Seriously NO ONE KNEW Megan Mullally who plays Karen Walker IN Will and Grace was staring as Rose Mary on broadway back then with matthew broadawick..no one never knew who she was back then until after the tv show, now ppl know her!
@mookyp actually that is excatly how Frank Looser wanted the number to originally be staged, but those who did the original remembered that they were not aloud to make it a jazz number that Frank wanted. They had to tame it down. I remember reading that this revival got the permission from the Looser Estate to incorporate this int he revival and make it the real 11 O'clock number it should be. I say bravo...imagine if this was the orginal back when it first premiered?
OMG! my school's doing this for our spring musical and i'm miss jones! thats my part :S i hope i can live up to that...but i doubt it, she's too amazing! :)
im gonna do thi splay ... not at my school tho well see this place i do acting they thught i was good so they invited me to do this play // lol i saw th emovie and ADOREED IT it was amazing
The original Finch. Robert Morse, won the Tony award the year Matthew was born and, 33 years later, Matthew took home the Tony for his performance of the same role.
I did see this on Broadway yrs ago....terrific show. Broderick did an excellent job (albeit not as good as Morse). I was fortunate to see the show with Sarah Jessica Parker as the love interest...she took over later on in the show. She was a TERRIFIC Rosemary!
Goosebumps, EVERYWHERE.
Such an enjoyable version of this musical. :)

Not as exciting as the Rob Ashford choreography, but none of those men look like power-bottoms when they're dancing, so you know... that's a plus.

We have tickets for "How to succeed in business without really trying" with Daniel Radcliffe for the first weekend in March.
We can't wait!
My partner and I saw him in "Equis" a while back.
I am very happy to know that Daniel Radcliffe is expanding beyond his "Harry Potter" character.
He is a very talented young man and his talent should not be wasted.

My partner and I saw "How to succeed..." yesterday, 03/05/11.
Daniel Radcliffe was very good!
He has a very good singing voice and he definitely has all the dance moves!
The audience response was extremely positive.
Between "Harry Potter," "Equis" and "How to succeed," I believe Daniel Radcliffe has more than proven that he is a versatile actor and performer.
He is a young and talentede man.
I look forward to seeing more of him, I hope, on Broadway!
How was your trip?
