Also Legalizing with Regulation of Marijuana would also save Law Enforcement a lot of resources that they could use to bring down dangerous Criminals.
I favor legalization but I doubt if the projected revenue will be as high (no pun intended) as they think it will be. Still I favor legalization because it will put the drug bums out of work and make them go get real jobs.

If we regulate, tax and control cannabis, it will starve the murderous cartels of their main revenue source, which should be one of the main objectives to accomplish in ending prohibition. Here in Australia it's illegal to grow tabacco without a license, the penalties are way worse than growing dope. Last time I checked the fines were $500 per dope plant, $10,000 per tabacco plant.

As a former weed dealer (on probation/vacation) I don't see what is wrong with people profiting from it. If you don't want to pay someone else to grow it for you, fine, grow your own. MERP does allow for commercial licensing and taxing. It just protects individual cultivation from taxation and regulation. It also does not impose limits on individual cultivation in order to insure that nothing more than a normal profit is made commercially or criminally. You really should check out everything about MERP before further comment. It IS the solution we have all been looking for.

the actual word on mj causing cancer is "should", which is a term used by those in power to avoid testing and finding out "doesn't". and when the test results don't make what they want them to, they change the testing procedures till they get a negative result. THC stops the cancer tumor's growth. THC reduces the size of the tumor. Does it completely destroy the tumor? I'm not sure... but, taking it down by half is pretty signficiant. That's a great headstart when combined with other treatments.

If i smoke my knees only hurt about half as much as they do. that's the difference between me getting out of bed to see my 9 and 12 year old off to school, and if i smoke, my nerves are better,so that i have the energy and good spirits i need to do laundry so my husband and kids have clean clothes.who am i hurting? and all at 0 $ to the government. see how much $ they could save.

MERP does allow for commercial licensing and taxing. It just protects individual cultivation from taxation and regulation. It also does not impose limits on individual cultivation in order to insure that nothing more than a normal profit is made commercially or criminally. And how after a decade of that UNFULFILLED promise, companies start scaling back their random UA's and now most only require a pre-employment UA? Please provide additional information about your OSHA claims. I found evidence of DECREASES since medical marijuana has been allowed (in Oregon, for example).

the actual word on mj causing cancer is "should", which is a term used by those in power to avoid testing and finding out "doesn't". and when the test results don't make what they want them to, they change the testing procedures till they get a negative result. Same way they did in the early 80s with Regan forcing 5 joints into a monkey without stopping within 20 mins without giving additional oxygen. Yeah it kills brain cells, just the same as choking yourself.

Perhaps I need to take a second look at the medical defiiniton of 'cure,' but I would call the "retardation of tumor growth" a cure in the making.
THC stops the cancer tumor's growth. THC reduces the size of the tumor. Does it completely destroy the tumor? I'm not sure... but, taking it down by half is pretty signficiant. That's a great headstart when combined with other treatments.
As you said, the anti-nausea and appeptite-increase are great benefits for individuals in cancer treatment.

I started working with missles, but the pay sucked, then went into sheetmetal. make between $60k to $82k depending on the hours I work.

Never forget that the reason marijuana was initially outlawed was white racists who ruled the US for most of its history saw an opportunity to make life miserable for non-whites who were then the majority of Cannabis users. Had it been popular with WHITE people in the early 20th Century, it NEVER would have been outlawed. Disabled Veteran here. If i smoke, it helps the muscles in my back finally relax, otherwise they feel like cement. If i smoke my knees only hurt about half as much as they do. that's the difference between me getting out of bed to see my 9 and 12 year old off to school, and if i smoke, my nerves are better,so that i have the energy and good spirits i need to do laundry so my husband and kids have clean clothes.who am i hurting? and all at 0 $ to the government. see how much $ they could save.

Often people want to take the drug side of the argument, but I think we need to start looking at hemp as a resource. Hemp is the future of any sustainable economy. It can replace virtually any lumber product, so you don't have to think about how many trees your killing when you wipe. Plus the option of an alternative fuel source (bio diesel) because this corn based stuff is going to screw the economy, Not to mention hemp depleats top soil at a much slower rate than corn.
