  • masterful, thanks for posting this. Juan Martin is a great teacher / performer!!! I'ver learned alot from him over the years. The haters are clearly jealous failers.

  • Bravo!!! Bravo!!!

  • Can someone please know from which book is this dvd?

    Thanks

  • Great Class

and forget about anonymous Trolls, who contrary to show their faces, record videos showing and doing better what they think it wouldn't be so good on their visions, just made easy and lazy statements

  • SemiModo1, Juan is a maestro. I counted his lessons and i dont see the "fuera compas" you are talking about... But maybe I dont know that much and you play a lot better. Cheers!

  • Work on your spelling, before you criticize.

  • @SemiModo1 This man all his life played for singers and dancers. And was chosen as one of 3 best gutarists in the word in 2003. So, should we think that you have more experience than him? Or, are you one of those who achieve a self gratification by critcising proven talents?

  • @Fussinated how he can be one of 3 best guitarists along paco, vicente, tomatito manolo, morao, chicuelo and other great guitarists......this man didn't invent anything in guitar playing......he is techer because he couldn't achieve sth big in guitar playing and in music in overal meaning...

  • @VMGIAN What do you mean by "invent"? What did Paco invent? or Vicente?

Your reasoning is rather flawing ecasue paco teaches as well one of his students being a friend of mine. However, Paco is a more traditional kind of player, and his knowledge of music is diifferent. Paco also being the teacher of Juan Martin taught him how to play guitar because he is incapable of achieveing sthg.

You have learn about the culture if you really want to appeciate the guitarist.

  • @Fussinated Paco revolutionise flamenco with Camaron de la Isla. He did the flamenco guitar become the main protagonist and the solo instrument which until then was not the case. Paco is first who started to hold guitar vertical like this and he invented "flamenco nuevo"...!! He has done so much in playing flamenco guitar and in music in general. He covered so much paths. And make his own uniqe style. He is virtuoso on guitar. In every flamenco guitarist you can hear paco beacause he is the boss..!

  • @Fussinated and Vicente is a "natural continuation" of Paco de Lucia and also true virtuoso on guitar..He also has his own unique style of playing.....Paco and Vicente are two greatest flamenco guitarist ever....And this man!!...what he has done??? He is little kid compare to paco, vicente and other guitarist that i mentioned at first comment....Watch this video on you tube and you'll see what other guitarists telling about paco...(/watch?v=kmEq28jMcFc) Juan Martin isn't mentioned anywhere..

  • @VMGIAN But this as I said, is not an invention, it is the application of her style. And since such a music is rejected by the popular western culture it will not be popular. Westerners prefer easy listening, light hearted music which is familiar to their ears. The best example for this is Ottmar Liebert who produces worthless pieces of music but manages to sell his work under the name of nuevo flamenco and people by it more than they by Paco, or Vicente, or Juan Martin.

  • @Fussinated Carefully listen the Manolo Sanlucar in thta video and you will see what i'm talking about.....

  • @VMGIAN Well first of all, the term "invent" does not apply here. If you knew Flmenco Music you'd also have known that each and every well known player has his own style such as Manolo Caracol, Sabicas, Diego del Gastor etc. And these in your terms were all inventors. Paco has his own style as well and the way he holds the guitar is not indiginously belong to Paco as well as solo playing. However the significance of Paco is that he made flamenco popular world wide with light hearte compositions.

  • @VMGIAN As for the Nuevo Flamenco if you make a research on the subject Juan Martin is also mentioned among the leaders of this wave along with Paco and Tomatito. While Vicente is considered the as next generation. If you have made a research about Juan Martin you would have known that his focus, especially in later years was to prevent the adultarization of the flamenco music under the name of "nuevo." In the album Musica Alhambra he "invents" a style which would be foregin to your ears e.g.

  • @VMGIAN So in summary, if you really to Juan Martin's lessons he repeatedly says that Flamenco is something very difficult to define and his efforts is merely trying to give the people a basic sense of it. And if you buy and listen his albums each comes with a deductive flyer cover and especially Musica Alhambra gives the listener info about the culture of flamenco. This reflects Juan Martin's efforts as new interpretation of Flamenco without destorying its origins.

  • @VMGIAN So Juan Martin, is more on the traditional or rather original side of the Nuevo Flamenco, while Paco and Vicente is trying to infuse their music with western style such as Jazz, Juan Martin composes in Moorish or eastern style or rather closer to the original forms, but still different and new.

My suggestion, before you judge an artist, you have know about him first, afterall, art is about communicating the incommunicable with plain texts. Learn and know well before you speak.

  • @Fussinated this man is teacher not artist and how much is he still far from the word ''Virtuoso''....

  • @VMGIAN Again, you should know about the artist before coming to such a conclusion. Apparently. you never listened to him you never owned an album from him. No matter what you will not be able to see him as a master, because he does not fit in your perception. You have to get rid of your prejudices.
