  • why do you double the rest time around the middle of the video?

  • Hey, hey, ya, wait, hey, ya, you, uhhhhhhh......... What kinda sticks are those?

  • А С ЛЕВОЙ РУКИ КТО БУДЕТ ИГРАТЬ:???..СЛОН???

  • you started to do five hits at the fast part

  • @chris28ish no he didnt?

  • it is the bass drum from one only if the 6 first strokes are triplets

  • what kind of sticks are those ?????

  • all i see - absolute horror

  • @Denladen969

    I can not live,

    I can not die,

    Trapped in myself,

    Body my holding cell.

Yes, we all know One by Metallica. :)

  • 'darkness! imprisoning me!'

  • I wish I fucking did all these exercises when I first starting playing drums.

I can't believe it's only now I realise that I need to practice them. This was 4 years ago when I was 14

Watch out kids, if you don't do these you'll become a talentless drummer like me.

  • @screamolives exactly right, i have been playing for 8 years and have the same problem although all is not lost. spend 45minutess morning, evening and night and you will boost ahead

  • @screamolives You can easily correct your mistakes when you're as young as you are. Time is on your side, theoretically. But for guys like me, I may have been either made or broken. Still, with as much lost time against me, I could still improve. With that being said, I know that you can improve, probably light years ahead of me!! Just don't give it up!!!

  • @screamolives lol your only 18!! just starting!! do these as practice and you ll be getting it subconsously in no time!! try learning the purdie shuffle -that ll fix you up!!

  • i have the same stix :D

  • it is also there in "hell's motel" by MD.45 xD

  • very nice...

  • This one for me is harder than the inverted flam tap... I have a huge problem with single strokes already, but this one is hard to do fast (it gets hard to hear the pulse of the triplets when it's fast)

  • This is the bass drum line in the song one, mettalica

  • the bass drum plus the snare, 6 hits in the bass drum and 1 in the snare at the end, not just bass drum

  • indeed it is.

  • it's 6 on the bass drum and 1 on the snare.

but you're right, lars uses it on that song.

  • Metallica* ^^

  • not exactly...the 6 first notes are triplets in one and then is the backbeat..these all are thirty-seconds

  • I think your doing this wrong, your supposed to switch between right and left. Thats how I was taught atleast.

  • ok i think i got this one, now where exactly does the accent go? on the seventh stroke or the first?

  • all strokes should be equal he's only playing an accent to show where the rudiment ends. but if you want to accent it then yes he does it on the 7th

  • he does it on the seventh,

  • ALTERNATE!

  • This guy's doing it differently at the beginning compared to the fast triplet feel. That's just ass and lame, you should be accurate when you make an instructional video.

  • the seven can only be played with L lead

  • wrong. you can use l or r.

  • I think he means ur supposed to alternate when demonstrating rudiments. Which is not false at all.

  • ok the breakdown thing in one isnt that hard.. its double bass the hi hat and snare its not hard at all

  • One by Metallica. HAHA!

  • yea lol, as he did it faster it sounded just like metallica's one at 4:21. i immidiatly thought about it. i was like ''this sounds so familiar!''

  • awsome

  • Haha, I'm doing this on my practice pad, but I can't catch up to him.

  • lol me too, i guess its gonna take some time

  • Sounds like One

  • The helicopter thing? Yeah, it does lol.

  • Same comment I made on the single stroke 4: why isn't the drummer alternating leading hand? If you're going to post a video of rudiments, at least make sure you get the basics right! should be RLRLRLR LRLRLRL

  • i take percusion!

  • hey cool...i´m no snare expert but you always start on the right hand. i try to start first on right then on left and so on....because of the last stroke it is more comfortable in high speed not to play the same hand again (for me)..greetings from germania

  • left or right...either one is correct. Don't believe me, look it up in the percussive drum rudiment dictionary.

  • OMG!

    very good ^^!!!!

    ;*

  • boy all i use on my kit is single strokes. and it works, for like everything. i did a jazz solo with some blast stiks, and it worked out great. SINGLE STROKES FTW!!

  • or you can use double strokes like RRLLRRL

  • the rudiment is to be played by alernating. RLRLRLR LRLRLRL etc. not RLRLRLR RLRLRLR

  • yeah i agree. all rudiments are meant to be played inverted, backwards and outwards

  • Agreed. The technique on display here is phenomenal regardless. It's simple enough to add your own reversal when following along. Glad you pointed it out because it needed to be said.

  • beatiful
