@screamolives exactly right, i have been playing for 8 years and have the same problem although all is not lost. spend 45minutess morning, evening and night and you will boost ahead
@screamolives You can easily correct your mistakes when you're as young as you are. Time is on your side, theoretically. But for guys like me, I may have been either made or broken. Still, with as much lost time against me, I could still improve. With that being said, I know that you can improve, probably light years ahead of me!! Just don't give it up!!!
@screamolives lol your only 18!! just starting!! do these as practice and you ll be getting it subconsously in no time!! try learning the purdie shuffle -that ll fix you up!!
This one for me is harder than the inverted flam tap... I have a huge problem with single strokes already, but this one is hard to do fast (it gets hard to hear the pulse of the triplets when it's fast)
This guy's doing it differently at the beginning compared to the fast triplet feel. That's just ass and lame, you should be accurate when you make an instructional video.
Same comment I made on the single stroke 4: why isn't the drummer alternating leading hand? If you're going to post a video of rudiments, at least make sure you get the basics right! should be RLRLRLR LRLRLRL
hey cool...i´m no snare expert but you always start on the right hand. i try to start first on right then on left and so on....because of the last stroke it is more comfortable in high speed not to play the same hand again (for me)..greetings from germania
boy all i use on my kit is single strokes. and it works, for like everything. i did a jazz solo with some blast stiks, and it worked out great. SINGLE STROKES FTW!!
Agreed. The technique on display here is phenomenal regardless. It's simple enough to add your own reversal when following along. Glad you pointed it out because it needed to be said.
why do you double the rest time around the middle of the video?

I wish I fucking did all these exercises when I first starting playing drums.
I can't believe it's only now I realise that I need to practice them. This was 4 years ago when I was 14
Watch out kids, if you don't do these you'll become a talentless drummer like me.

TheTravman83 2 years ago 25
the bass drum plus the snare, 6 hits in the bass drum and 1 in the snare at the end, not just bass drum
rulo0505 2 years ago

not exactly...the 6 first notes are triplets in one and then is the backbeat..these all are thirty-seconds
lateralus88vicarious 1 year ago
I think your doing this wrong, your supposed to switch between right and left. Thats how I was taught atleast.
MrRocklife 2 years ago
ok i think i got this one, now where exactly does the accent go? on the seventh stroke or the first?
ncurry09 3 years ago
all strokes should be equal he's only playing an accent to show where the rudiment ends. but if you want to accent it then yes he does it on the 7th
plopenstien 3 years ago
he does it on the seventh,

the seven can only be played with L lead
HUTCHHAWKS20 3 years ago
wrong. you can use l or r.
54ringo 2 years ago
I think he means ur supposed to alternate when demonstrating rudiments. Which is not false at all.
BlacKaTeerZTV 2 years ago
ok the breakdown thing in one isnt that hard.. its double bass the hi hat and snare its not hard at all

left or right...either one is correct. Don't believe me, look it up in the percussive drum rudiment dictionary.

the rudiment is to be played by alernating. RLRLRLR LRLRLRL etc. not RLRLRLR RLRLRLR

yeah i agree. all rudiments are meant to be played inverted, backwards and outwards
