  • am i the only one that cries listening to this song?

  • @wane07 i always crying with this song

  • omg marina vampire thank YOU

  • they also didnt play this song tonight, its so good i wanted to hear this live, could have went without east harlem

  • Ah. This will forever be one of my favourite songs -3 I love the beauty of their music, the classical style build of each composition, and the poetic style lyrics, mmmmmmm love. Even my friend who hates anything but 80s hair metal and classic rock, likes Beirut and appreciates them. Both Zach and Owens voices are like melting butter -33333

  • this is owen? sounds like zach, well im about to see them live, so does anyone hear what he says after 'getting sadder and older oh love?' one more thing is said

  • @Morpheus94080 oh the cold, the oncoming cold

  • ok, so all posted lyrics of this song are shit, any real beirut fan knows ther is an extra lyric after 'getting sadder and older oh love' zach says one more thing in a deeper voice after, any ideas?

  • I love Owen Pallett's voice!

  • Beira a Perfeição !

  • 4 Noviembre Beirut in Mexico, I can't believe it. <3

  • what means the tittle of the song?Cliquot?

  • @lavanguardiadelsol Cliquot is the last name of woman from France who became a widow after he husband Francois died of fever in 1805. This song basically paints the picture of sorrow after losing a loved one.

  • @kingfan88 Thank you very much for yur kindness is giving me this response, i was curious about the lyrics... beirut they usually do their lyrics based on hystory stories right? This is song is really beatifull. how did you know the meaning of the lyrics...

  • If you think 360p Flash is CD quality, you need some better headphones/ears. But thanks for uploading a better version, all the same.

  • @concinnus

I considered it CD quality because I got the CD rip.

  • I cannot stop listening to this. @__@

  • That is soooo owen pallet lol. his voice is very distinctive :)

  • i heard that its own pallet singing this...is it true?

  • @TheBwao yup!

  • absolutly amazing!!!

  • its insane how much owens voice sounds like zach condons.

you can barely tell the difference

  • @infiniteriot I can't believe this! I didn't know it wasn't Zach singing. I've listened to this song over and over and I was convinced it was him! Wow, thanks for letting me know. When I first listened I thought it was a little bit different but I never thought it was someone else... Their voices are both amazing though :)

  • @InnesBlue haha no problem, i didn't know until he told me!

  • I don't know why but whenever I hear him singing "what melody ..." I feel so overwhelmed by sadness of this phrase.I remember only few songs that would be equally emotional.

  • God, this is incredibly beautiful.

  • i'm in love with his voice. beautiful song, timeless.

  • check out our version, i'ts in a park in Rio de Janeiro, lots of instruments:

  • @zach0ryX1

pretty sure songwriters can write songs in other people's perspective.

  • This isn't cd quality...

  • i think the take away video is incomparably better. where do I start? I wouldn't like Beirut very much if all I had to go on was their CDs.

As it stands, they changed the colour of my blood to something magnificent and my pulse to offbeat drums. My head is an accordian.

But this version didn't do it.

  • i think the take away video is incomparably better. where do I start?

  • Love this song. I can never stand to listen to it just once at a time.

  • lovely!!! <33333

  • thanks~

i love this song, it brings me to another place

a place one day i will see

  • Not heard anything so musically beautiful as long as I can remember right now(: The music of Beirut has all the pieces on the right places..ooooh

  • I detect audiophile. The live recording had feeling, like music should.

  • @Humaniterrarium

    Opinions > opinions

  • @terrachan Onions>Opinions

  • @unclefeather22 But I don't like onions :(

  • @Humaniterrarium

I liked the "imperfection" in the live recording.

  • @Humaniterrarium So...that's an insult now? And the recording doesn't have feeling?

  • Ah...

  • Seeing them tonight!!!

  • Great Song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • precius

  • i don't think this world is enough for this music.

     incredible

  • @7surplus7society7 Dude, you're wrong. Listen to Ed Droste's voice and then listen to Owen Pallett's voice. If you need more confirmation, google it and do a little research. Or search on Youtube - 'Owen Pallett Cliquot' and listen to the first thing that comes up.

  • Decent quality but if you can definitely tell the difference with good headphones and a cd.

  • my only problem with the live video is this song just isnt the same without owen singing

  • owen pallet is singing:)

  • yeah the acoustics on the actual video were rather bad and annoying. Much better.
