  • This band are great and to try and give some clarity about the Picts, now Caledonia is just another word for Scotland as is Alba, the Picts were co-existing tribes who, like the Cornovii/Dumnonian tribes or Cornwall were left relatively undisturbed by the Roman invasion, thus letting their Iron Age eras extend by several centuries more than the people who existed in what was to become England and Wales.

  • I like this! It's a little dark, but it's definately catchy!

  • cool

  • Liked it

  • So many great bands from those days that we can never hear about! This song is fuckin' awesome.

  • The Picti, means the painted ones.A name given to them by the Romans who could niether live with nor conquer them,so they built Hadrians wall to keep them in the unconquered north.Painted as they covered thier bodies in blue woad,a dye obtained from plant matter, and if some historians are to believed, warriors would go into battle otherwise naked.thier art is very like that of the Celtic peoples( complex knots and stylised birds and animals).what happened to them?absorbed into celt population prob

  • Awesome! Feel like I've made a great new discovery today!

  • Cool song.

  • what´s "picts"??

  • @CubensisAtiv4Strings The Picts were the people living in Scotland, Ireland before the arrival of the Celts.

  • @neanderpat

The Picts were English mate. They relocated to Scotland because of over-inflated prices for souterrains in the home counties. Once up there they organised themselves into residents associations and community committees, thus ensuring that the Romans would stay well away.

Nobody was desperate enough to go to Ireland.

  • @neanderpat The Picts were a Celtic people. Remember that "Celtic" is a linguistic/cultural designation, not an ethnic or "racial" one. So the Picts spoke a language related to other "Celtic" languages, and their culture was related to and influenced by previous "Celtic" cultures. They lived in Scotland, and were probably descended from the Caledonians.
