I love 'So cold' and I absolutely love FFVIII, so I figured this was a win/win situation. But it was so much more than that. This is perhaps one of the best AMVs I have seen in quite a while. The cutting was excellent and the high points of the song corrosponded with the more emotional parts of the game.

FFVIII, is my fav RPG of all time. Even with today's standard of games, IMO, it still stands up. Squall is a great protagonist despite his loner nature with his struggle to embrace his emotions

I agree with you, but I'll add that I think FF8's graphics did what they needed to do extremely well, and that the 3D characters on a 2D rendered background made it sorta like still playing an SNES RPG.. like from top down.. now, the stage moves around the character instead.. makes it a different experience, and for my mileage, less FF-like.

Also, I'd say FFVIII's gameplay was superior to most of them, but especially the more current ones.. so they must not be focusing hard.

I've played others but I totally feel you on the emotion thing. I just posted a vid response to this, long story short, it's this AMV someone made of it in like 1999 that I've saved for like 10 years now.. and I uploaded it, didn't create it.. but it really takes me back to that emotional headspace.. 15 years old, and very attached to the characters. Hee hee! The Ultima Weapon was easy! One good Lion Heart was all it took. As for the Omega Weapon...Actually GETTING to him was the hard part. My Zell -squee- and Squall -glomp- tagged teamed him to death. -Rinoa helped too, somehow-

It also helped that I had maxed out meh party members ^.-)

Well Squall is my strongest character and he's lvl 100 the other two I was using were Rinoa and Quistess and they are lvl 50 something maybe I'll come back later with my characters weapons remodeled. Squall has the Lionheart but the other weapons are kinda hard for me to find the stuff to remodel them with :(

Do not count on GF and area attacks. Make sure you equip each of the characters that will be fighting Adel with 99 of the best Magics and junction them to Strength and HP. Heal Rinoa when you can. Keeping your characters' levels low (less than 70) also helps, since Adel's level is determined by them.

FFVIII is still my favorite Final Fantasy game, more than VII or X. The story was so deep, characters likeable, graphics were terrific for the time, gameplay and junctioning system was easy to master. Drawing magic was awesome when you would fine monsters with the rare ones. Limit breaks, especially Squall's, were awesome. Every couple years I'll bring it out for a couple months, level up every character and GF to 100, get all the best weapons and overall just PWN the game. GREAT GAME!

Okay, 8 had some good things about it, the cgi movies in were bad ass, Zack was an Ivan were awesome, but the story fell apart about 2/3rds though it, and all my best magic went into uping the stats, it was nice having ungodly amounts of HP,(well over 9999) but I had to use all my Curaja to get it, and drawing magic, yeah they never used that system again. Needless to say I was very happy with what they did with 9. Damn re-reading this i realize what a huge nerd I am. Oh well, I can live with it

7 was good, but i dont get why so many say its the best - 8 (which i finished last night) was at least just as good, i thought it was great, 9 was amazing, 10 is my favourite but only by a hair. and im playing 4 right now, which has proved to be amazing so far! they definitely dont get enough credit. i know people may be getting sick of love stories, but square are so good at it!!
