I'm sure Charli Robinson would love to be in this skit with the other celebrities since she probably loves to be barefoot. (Charli Robinson is a singer, actress, and children's performer for anyone who wasn't sure who she was and in her children's performing shows, she does a lot of skits where she chooses to be barefoot and sometimes she does skits with her barefeet to the audience). Great song, good message. However, there should be a song about the prevention of Elephantiasis for children in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia by wearing shoes. I know, it's not America so it's irrelevant, but it's all I could think about while watching this. Not to mention if Ziggy did do that song it would be an instant cult classic.

I understand the song's about being barefoot just so that feet can feel what nature feels like. However, it can be dangerous to go barefoot outside whether it's on concrete or grass because, if someone stepped on something sharp they would cut their foot or if it was maybe a bee it would sting their foot which can be dangerous. (I guess the important thing is to wear shoes outside to keep feet protected as he sang from 0:01-0:08). If piggies need to wiggle free, sandals would be good to wear.

If so, I was just giving my opinion which a lot of people do on YouTube Sesame Street skits whether it's a song, cartoon, etc. which a lot of people give their opinion on what they saw or heard and how they felt. Plus, I know a lot of people in real life that I know have gone barefoot outside and they have cut their feet and needed stitches, even someone I know cut her barefoot outside with blood coming out. This is why I gave my opinion here.

I believe that Ricky Gervais wrote the song. There's a great video on here where Ricky and Elmo are being interviewed together by the AP and they end by singing this song. Digging around online I found that Gervais wrote it for the 40th Anniversary special or something.
