  • Which one is Bobby Brown if he's actually in this?

  • @LAtoOC Yeah Bobby is there. Bobby is the brown skin dude on the far left

  • Was that Bobby brown? The lead voice?

  • @itsbcuzirock The lead is Ralph Tresvant and Bobby is on the left end

  • Beats all!!!

  • Now that's a REAL boy band...

  • you could ralphs voice changing during this period.still great though!

  • Oh shit! I remember this jam!!! I was ten then but I remember watching this on tv...ah memories :)

  • Looking back on this is totally hilarious!

  • This Song Made Me Wish I Was Black :)

  • Awesome song!

  • F-R-E-S-H!!

  • I remember during my adolescent years, people used to tell me that I looked just like Ralph. It was 1984. It was one of the best times in my life!! I cannot tell you about all the girls that were chasing me.Thanks for letting me borrow just a smidgen of your thunder, Mr. Tresvant. NE forever!!

  • This song makes me happy:-))

  • In a lot of their earlier live TV performances, the group lip-synched. However, they aren't lip-synching here---well, at least Ralph isn't. The other four are lip-synching the background vocals. Regardless, still a hot performance.

  • Amazing how gullible we were as kids. I hate watching obviously lip synched "performances" now. But this was classic.

  • where is the OG video... This was my first cassette at age 5 in 1985... and I'm puertorican lol

  • Somebody has to have OG video! Stop holding out!

  • Classic new edition. Those were the days.

  • them lil niggas gettin it...

  • Can't go wrong with early New Ed! Thanks for posting this!

  • I'm glad Ralph grew into his teeth lol

  • MY DAUGHTER SHAKA LUHVE DIS SONG<3

  • This is the only version of this song on youtube I am able to watch.

  • F-R-E-S-H!!

How come NE was never on the Cosby Show?

  • @IceManLikeGervin I used to wonder about that myself...seems like a performance by them or atleast an appearance on The Cosby Show would have been nice since both Cosby and New Edition were major influences during the 1980's.

  • michael bivins, ronnie devoe ,bell, johnny gill and bobby brown

  • Awesome Throwback! Love It!!

  • Behold The Greatest Guy Group "Of All Time"...saying they set the standard is an understatement; and they are Legends in their own time!

  • Thats the shit

  • I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS ON TV & SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF....

  • what the fuck was the cos doing at the apollo lmao

  • he actually got a more masculine voice he sings in this performance

  • Incase of the change try not to warn me next time!

  • Wow... they sure can dance and all so damn skinny! lol. This gotta be from the 80s!

  • @Oldschoolgal5 Yeah it is..it says 1985 in the description box

  • what ever happened to the male vocal groups everybody solo now but the groups were always my favorite especially NE

  • Jesus, this is the first time I seen this. O_O I was only 7 or 8 back then and Apollo used to come on late at night and it was past my bedtime, LOL. Anyways great song.

  • when i seen this i felt old

  • KEEP CLICKING 36 ON DA RED BAR SHITZ FUNNY

  • The best song from New Edition

  • if he's not lip synching, he sounds damn near close to the album version here.. damn.

  • Get a life, nikonguy...with your punk ass kiddieland vids. hahahaha Any of the NE members could easily whoop your over 50 year old ass, u lowlife mf.

  • my grandmas cousins son

  • no that's not Michael Jackson dummy

  • they weren't lip syching i remember watching this when it aired. You can tell they weren't by the way Ralph sounds when he first starts singing

  • You know, New Edition may be one of the only singing groups where almost every member has had their own sucessful solo career. :) Usually in singing groups, only the lead singer has a sucessful solo career, (Diana Ross- The Supremes) and in vary rare instances, the backup singer gets a sucessful solo career as well.(Kelly Rowland from Destiny`s Child).

  • Classic songs ftw.

  • boy dat nigga ralph is a great leader they shudn't neva brok up this a great song dat nigga cud led dem to many awards and money DAM BOBBY

  • @pappyfrank Still do tours toghether, seen them in at the Fox in Detroit in 2007. Not doing albums after a try with Bad Boy flopped, but still do still so shows once in a while. Ralph was there, jsut not Bobby. No ones fault. Just days are done. Show was great!

  • Damn man they are so smooth with it.

  • Ronnie and Ralph are handsome!

  • @babygirl77518 i agree with ralph but not so much ronnie. I liked ralph and bobbie but i wish bobby will stopped doing drugs but i think he stopped

  • @TaylorSwiftfan1010 I heard Bobby say he is trying to change his life around so we'll see.

  • One of my favorite R&B male groups...it's hard to believe they have been out this long! I like them altogether than seperate though.

  • Homo group

  • @nikonguy102 If that's your opinion of NE, who forced to you stop thru & comment? Spoken like a complete idiot.

  • what was going on with your teeth ralph damn I wouldn't want to knuckle up with you if you bit me my arms is gone one bite shit but great performance

  • LOL.. all i'm seeing is RALPH'S TEETH.. smh

  • cheesy

  • This song is awesome.

  • Ralph is awesome!

  • One of the hottest tracks N.E's ever done!!!

  • Now thats top notch lip syncing right there!!!!

  • Damn, Bill got on some Jackie Onasis galsses without the tint! LOL!

  • Dang, they were hot back in the day. I wouldn't know this quite yet.

  • 4年間探しました。この曲を!!ありがとうございます!!大感激です

  • That audience was so dead, I guess most of them were older people.

  • @yvette789799 I agree, did you notice that the "Rap" part was not included . . . . . .I was looking forward to that

  • used to do some of my dance routines with this song...lol

  • bill cosby, hahaha holy shit

  • i Love this brings back memories... was so in love with these dudes,, saw them in Chicago a few years ago..STILL dancing like this ...WOW

  • wow they were tall

  • Who sings that song that goes...i wanna rock witcha baby...all night long...i wanna roll witcha baby...all night long?

  • BOBBY BROWN-ROCK WIT YA(REMIX)

  • @mercedesshalay Thats Michael jackson

  • @mercedesshalay -The LATE N GREAT Michael Jackson

  • @mercedesshalay Eddie Grant does a song that's similar...but not exactly.

  • @mercedesshalay michael jackson

  • @kingtony2010 I found out who it was... its bobby brown..rock withcha remix...thanks anyway :)

  • Was that Ralph or Johnny?

  • Ralph, Johnny didn't join till the NE Heartbreak album in 88' I think, I was a fish in high school, lol.

I get emails from their website and it looks like ALL 6 will reunite this year...again! lol. Hope they come to Houston. Last saw them here minus B.Brown in 05'! Still have the 2 shirts I bought.

  • @NikitaFilatovFan3040 - the main lead singer has always been Ralph with his awesome falsetto voice. Johnny didn't become part of group until a year after Bobby Brown left when NE Heartbreak debuted.

  • the curls, and that deep part on the side of ralphs head, wow......I love it!

  • so full of energy......

  • they was gettin it!!

  • Ralph always was a great singer but it must have been hard for Bobby and Ricky playing backup to him for all those years when they could sing as good as him.Ironic how everyone in the group was bigger than Ralph when they all went solo.

  • @72768487912002 well Rickey is not a bigger name Bill biv devoe may be bigger Ralph is well known and he went solo to late he was the last to drop a record

  • Ralph dropping his solo record last has nothingt to do with it fact is BBD's poison album was way better than Ralph's album. He did have sensitivity and stone cold gentleman but not much else.I think even Johnny's album was better fact is I love all the guys from N.E. but truth iseveryone in the group turned out more successful than their lead singer and its rare.

  • Well Ralph waited to late to go solo he should have done it in 86. The girls was all over him he waited to bobby brown dropped his second record goin 8x then decided to go solo in a time where that music was hot when Bobby did it it was new. Bell biv devoe barly sold more by the way. And his hit was also yo baby and do what I git to do. Ralph was the last and plust Bell biv devoe was getting explicit with lyrics Ralph kind of said with new edition sound on his album

  • actually the last successful song ralph has was "Money Cant Buy You Love" on the Mo' Money Soundtrack. such a good song

  • @72768487912002 -Yeah, I remember that, but I think it had a lot to do with the fact that bbd brought a street edge to r&b that helped to usher in the hip hop era. And johnny was just super smooth vocalist. He had a audience even before join New edition. But some of Ralph's lack of success I think was due to the fact that he came out much later than the rest. I remember that album, and It was hot. Remember the song 'Do what I gotta do"? That was hot. But music changed at the time. Jodeci style.

  • & that change was dubbed as birth of the New Jack Swing, which in my opinion didn't fit very well with Ralph's style as a soloist. True, his debut release had several classics. My joint was "The Rhythm is Rated R" :)

  • @djw- Yeah, music did change on Ralph. I also think it had a lot to with Ralph coming out so late and also the fact that we all were used to hearing him sing all the time. But I think if his album had come out before bbd and Johnny's, he would have fared much better. His album was quite underrated. Yeah, his voice may have had something to do with it too. But people must remember, Ralph was the life of New Edition, even though others could sing better. Ralph just had that something special.

  • I Love How Ralph Sings :)

    Love This Performance

  • My dad taped this show when it first aired... We grew up hearing NE songs...But it wasn't until we watched it again in the 90s that we realized that was Ralph, Bobby, Johnny, and BBD...

  • Mine too ... Me and my sis used to watch NE and DeBarge over and over again lol

  • Wow... I remember the first time i saw this... I had to do this dance at my summer camp...

  • hahah look at them get down....

  • Man, this is bringing back some memories. I can remember being in the living room with the sibs, tearing it up to this song, or just chillin' with friends listening to this. Man, this takes me back:)

  • buggs, you are bugging out, NE on their worst day sounds and look better than any of theese no and b, no jacks out here today! If you like Day 26, just admit it and don't come on a NE show, talking about todays tryers and putting them in the same sentence as legends! Some people just have to keep Katt Williams seat warm while he's going through!

  • ME TOO! During the set when each did their solo thing, Ralph jumped up on the speaker and came to where we were standing...and let the ladies come to him and he grabbed me and was hugging me while singing "Sensitivity".....ooh I can't take it....and I'm MAD that they aren't coming back to tour too! They came back as "The Summit" w/Ralph and Johnny and Bobby but it ain't the same....UGH!

  • HE WANTS SOME PUDDIN POPS

  • Lord I lost my damn voice when Bill introduced them, like I was there. By the end of the song I was crying...sweet Jesus.

  • HILARIOUS!!!!! I aint gonna lie. I saw them the year before last and I am pissed that they didn't keep their promise to come back with all 6 members in 2009.

  • Well Johnny was better anyways

  • Even today they´re very very hot !!

  • You can also tell they were influenced by hip hop. That's one aspect of the group people don't talk about.

  • That is true, no wonder they were featured in the film, "Krush Groove," because of their love of Hip Hop.

  • shit they killed that performance, I liked the robotic moves they did. you can tell they were influence by Michael jackson.

  • @osmiley99 - michael had his influence everybody in the 80s. He was so amazing that we all wanted to be him at some point in our lives. I still don't he gets enough credit for that, even though many of us acknowledge him as the greatest ever!!!

  • 80s forever !!!

  • they was gooin crazi.

  • like it so much

  • he is not lip synching

  • Oh Ok Thank you

    :)

  • Thats right! I luv New Edition.

  • these guys slid in there just intime to be considered classics! they were apart of an error when groups actually dressed up, danced insynce and bowed at he end of their performance! they can consider themselves classics like The Temps,The Jacksons and so on and so forth. i love these guys.

  • They are the Baby Temptations

  • holy crap that was dope..takin' it back to when new edition was still lil teens. dope dope..made respect to them always!
