  • I LIVE IN NORWAY ! AND THERE IS NORTHERN LIGHTS OUTSIDE NOW :D

  • @YoMommaShugga I live in Italy and I've never seen Northern Lights... All videos on youtube are in time-lapse, speeded up and with music... I'd like to see like 2 or 3 minutes of ACTUAL footage with original sound. Do they make any sound? How fast do they "go"? Maybe, since you're there, you can answer me, and if you could do that with a video... That'll be wonderful.

  • I think its only been once in like 6 years where I live in Norway and I saw it that time. It was sooo pretty!!

  • wow i want to see this some day.

  • has any1 in the uk got any footage?

  • @spacebeaver9 So go! Im def going before I die! =P

  • @spacebeaver9 I just did...

  • I did my military service up in Swedish Lappland inside the arctic circle a few years ago. In all of February there were northern lights almost every single night, and for that whole month we were outside constantly.

Before going to bed in our tents we would lay in the snow for a while drinking the compulsory liter of warm juice watching the sky. MY GOD SO BEAUTIFUL, northern lights so green. Every now and then we would also see satellites passing over in space, everything crystal clear.

  • the nothern lights/aurora borialis is caused by the magnetic fields of the north pole and the south pole

  • why do people make such a big deal about the northern lights anyway?

  • @1337manz Because they appreciate nature's wonders and are not morons...

  • I'll take a pic the next time I see it :P

  • Its WMD!!

  • 15 people were mad that they didnt have a power cord long enough to reach.

  • So what if you went paragliding in that?

  • aurora borealis is more beautiful than fireworks..

    god is great

  • Watched the inconvenient truth. Saddens me. I wish I could see this one day

  • That is some awesome stuff. I'm going to visit up there some day just for i can see that myself.

  • To bad we can't harness that energy, and thanks for responding to my question.

  • comes from the relaease of heat from the inner sol of earth or sun

  • proof dat Allah exists!

  • Question: Is the northern light driven by the natural wind currents mixed with the chemicals/gases at a perfect moment when the light from the sun reaches the mixed particles from the blown jet streams/ natural wind currents, mixed with the ice and dust particles that create the light reflections we see as the northern lights and not just an illusion of them being charged and lit up by ionization of the mixed concoction or just being lit up by the light reflections of the earth wobble!!

  • @curtbarile Nortern lights are coronal ejections from the sun or plasma.Driven by solar winds towards the earth they are attracted by the earths magnetic field. In lamens terms the magnetic pole.Upon arrival the winds are travelling 400 kms an hour. When the plasma hits the ionosphere they change into ionized gas, where 40,000-200,000 volts of electricity ignites it. This is called ohmic conduction. Then forming northern lights.Best place in the world to see them , Watson Lake with 60 days a year

  • @lee8264 What if I went paragliding in a borealis?

  • @archangel1092 You ever use a bug zapper. If yes you know the answer. If no then just imagine lighting hitting you until you charcoal broil into beef jerky.Mmmmmm jerky!

  • @lee8264 Yum..

  • This might happen tonight :)

  • God has nothing to do with charged particles...

  • Amazing. I would sleep under that if it wasn't so cold lol!

  • Superb. I'd love to see the Northern Lights.

  • This is one of the best live mix type of filming of the northern lights, with live video from the IR camera and the T/L Photographs

  • best place in the world to see the northen lights is watson lake in the yukon territories with 60 plus days a year. the average temperature in january -21 celcius brrrrrr

  • I have 2010/2011 Yllas new year northern lights/ skiing on my channel :)

  • so amazing!!! 1337manz :p

  • Great video, much thanks! The Auroa Borealis, Nature's ultimate light show...

  • I so wanna see them irl :'( And how can people dislike the northern lights?! Maybe they thought it said dis-i-like

  • how are they made

  • @xEviCTiioNx like everything is..... by God

  • @xEviCTiioNx Its actually quite simple, when it gets dark enough, you can see the atmosphere mix with space and "dance around" witch is a beautiful sight to see. That is a "Aurora"

  • @xEviCTiioNx Auroras result from emissions of photons in the Earth's upper atmosphere, above 80 km (50 miles), from ionized nitrogen atoms regaining an electron, and oxygen and nitrogen atoms returning from an excited state to ground state. They are ionized or excited by the collision of solar wind particles being funneled down and accelerated along the Earth's magnetic field lines; excitation energy is lost by the emission of a photon of light, or by collision with another atom or molecule

  • we got big ass spiders in virginia does that count? XD

  • i lvoe bbc four

  • wow they look beautiful

  • amazing,,even though i am just watching it,,i felt that i am on the actual place,,nice video

  • amazing. imagine seeing that above your head

  • I ALWAYS STOP THEM FROM TALKING ABOUT IT SO I CAN JUST THINK OF IT AS A BEAUTIFUL MYSTERY!

  • GORGEOUS ((:

  • that first place is aray from blackops lol

  • @XxJoshFreshxX54 wow....who cares :/

  • @irishmez Really Who Cares??? Your First Video Is A D-Day Reenactment lol yea You Cool How Old Are You 40 Is That Why You Dont Care Bout Black Ops Old Man lol

  • This is extremely spectacular! I wished to see this event before I die.

  • I saw them in 1994 in Siberia. Hammered on local wodka, I was looking up & fell flat on my back in the snow & proceeded to make a snow angel whilst being completely blown away by the sight. Surreal

  • 0:26 to 0:30 it looks like a face. I never saw the Northern Lights, Lunar Eclipse, and the Solar Eclipse. I have to see these things before I die.

  • I've never seen anything in my life. I never saw a Lunar Eclipse, Solar Eclipse, and the Northern Lights. These are the things I need to see before I die!

  • i have never sawn the northern lights.they are beautiful!:)

  • @ 3:11 Didn't Nikola Tesla have a similar idea?? Tapping into the ionosphere?

  • jayus, that would spook theshit outa me

  • This video is wonderful. But it does not do the lights justice at all. They truly should be seen with the naked eye, in order to see their true beauty. Still though, I'm sure this will be the closest I'll come to seeing them.

  • the main point here is the northern lights, not the 4 guys!

  • i see this everynight in the winter ofc nothing special about but that might be because i live in tromsø ;)

  • God sure has beauty in the sky

  • @Larianne17Rose "God"? When you were born and you still name all these nature's beautiful phenomena "God", 10.000 years ago? :)

  • @Larianne17Rose Idiot

  • Very nice but I really wanted to see the Northern lights not 4 guys in black and white!

  • Actually saw this on a flight from Los Angeles to Beijing while flying somewhere over the Bering strait.

  • Amazing...in northern latitudes, the effect is known as the 'aurora borealis', named after the Roman goddess of dawn, 'Aurora' plus the Greek name for the north wind, 'Boreas', right?

  • god they told the worst myths ever! bet they didn't know any. Back in the days they believed that the aurora would come and take you whistle at it or threw snow up in the air whenever there was an aurora. And some say that your forefathers spirits are up there.

Watching this vid makes me miss home. I grew up 4 hours south of tromsø, and i miss being up north now when it's getting dark and cold. dunno if there have been any polar lights there yet, but i bet there will be pretty soon!

  • That is soooo cool!

  • You guys gotta go onto the internet to see this, I can just take a peek out my window :D

    GOGO Tromsø

  • @1337manz I'm go go go goin to Tromsø in less than 2 weeks. :-) Just me and my camera

  • @1337manz Lucky lucky man, or woman.

  • @1337manz thanks for rubbing it in bitch

  • @1337manz I'm from Thailand, and I just went to Tromso this past Christmas. Saw the Northern Lights there - absolutely amazing. Awesome, awesome place :)

  • @1337manz Lucky you! I went to Tromsø in January and saw the aurora within 10 minutes of arriving. It was one of those "want to see once in my life" things but I want to see it again!

  • @adamu328 it gives me da creeps!

  • @1337manz wow

  • @1337manz you are lucky

  • @1337manz haha jeg er fra Bodø ser det hver dag jeg og ;P

  • @1337manz The jealousy runs deep and strong!

  • @1337manz I really wanna see this in person

unfortunately i live on the east coast and i currently don't have the money to see them in person T^T

  • @1337manz You are incredibly lucky! The aurora borealis are one of the things I want to see before I die.

  • @1337manz

I'd love to live in a country with a beautiful landscape... but i live in The Netherlands, completely flat and below sea-level :(

    Some day...some day ^^

  • @DeSjeft Someday the sea will come back to reclaim its land and it'll be interesting again.

  • @1337manz

Take your camera with ya next time then and up it :)

  • @1337manz You're mean.

  • @DannySnuttz lmfao no not at first... i mean the world is gonna end for a fact we just dont know when.. and after watching that conspiracy theories its kind of made me open minded about it.. and nasa is saying there are going to be " solar storms" on the sun 2012.. and that it can knock out half of Americas electricy or some shit like that from the radiation... lol im prepared though

  • @DannySnuttz well u got two years hurry

  • 29 October 2003 is the biggest Aurora on record ! it lasted for several days. and according to one of my contacts in Tromso(Inger) did indeed make the snow appear red. It was also seen as far away a Tenerife. From my location in N.E. England the curtain extended from West to East with the vertical rays stretching directly overhead to the south. I woundn't say i was sentimental, but it has effected me in ways i cant even explain.

  • GORGEOUS lights!

  • People can't appreciate the beauty of the Earth until it's gone.
