  • 2 people are fans of red bull racing ;)

  • this car makes an AMAZING sound!!

  • 2 people think that the best car in the world is a riced up honda civic...

  • :)

  • They are recording the sounds for FORZA 2... you can see the mics near the mufflers

  • Sounds like an F1 car

  • @69chuddy It does because it was the only street legal production vehicle to hold a true Formula 1 Ferrari engine. The F50GT is not street legal, but the normal F50 is, and it has the same engine as the GT, except for it is detuned for Federal Emission standards....

  • @CarEnthusiast80 WTF dude this isnt a F1 engine u dumbshit idiot... Just put it like u want but a TRUE f1 engine is removed and changed after qualify than they remove it and change it after the race, that already 2 blown block in 4hrs of beating and u think they would put that in a car of 1.2 million... this is street legal car trust me... And it has the same engine as the GT? that why f50gt engine is bigger than the f50 1?

  • @TheIntegrah22 You are an absolute moron.

Did you know Ferrari did indeed put a Formula 1 V12 in the back of a Ferrari F50? Did you also know that the Ferrari F50 GT has a limiter of up to 11,500 RPM, and produces as much genuine sound as that of a Formula 1 engine? In fact, even Ferrari said that the engine is direct from a F1 engine.

That tells you something. The F50 has an electronic limiter on the engine because if it isn't limited, it can cause a lot of break downs.

    Go read a book.

  • @CarEnthusiast80 The only thing that makes the F50 GT not street legal is the fact it has race slick tires. Change that and you've got a street legal car.

  • @ArcanineKing and no airbags or street legal seatbelts or mufflers.

  • @erdero ...

Airbags are not in federal regulations for street legal cars. A lot of cars that have no airbags, such as classics and specialized cars, including street legal racecars, have no airbags and are allowed on streets. Seatbelts? This car has five-point seatbelts. Mufflers? Seriously? There's no regulation for mufflers or exhausts.

  • @ArcanineKing cars without airbags (from the factory) need government waivers. race harnesses are only street legal if approved by the DOT.

here's an example muffler law: "CA. V.C. 27150 (a) Every motor vehicle subject to registration shall be equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise, and no muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass, or similar device."

  • I think I shit my pants. And I love it.

  • 2 guys have crashed this car....

  • beautiful car ferrari should really think about remaking it. its a shame none of these saw any races.

  • @JuliusCaesar2701 Yeah, imagine this all aluminum and carbon fiber.

  • i love this car man, I wish i could be lucky to have one. id have to be super lucky.

  • Audio for forza and PGR? i think they would have just jacked up the back wheels due to how fuckin loud a dyno is...

  • @kkage2 Wouldn't be able to accurately reproduce sound, the engine needs to be loaded, and aside from driving the only way to do that is on a dyno. And with modern day sound editing software it's nothing to be able to edit out the dyno noise.

  • Prius worst nightmare

  • what is the thing sticking up behind the intake and in of the suspension?

  • No you are wrong not according to ferrari the other three tubs that ferrari built.

Ferrari decided tolater destroyed the other three tubs?

  • what idiot put this video in the V8 sound playlist? F50s are V12 powered

  • UN ' AEREO !!!

  • Jesus christ! I just jizzed my pants!

  • car sounds like a vacuum cleaner @ 0:27-0:37 lol

  • @kinkyflicks lol i was just about to say the same thing!! haha.

  • nice to see an f50, wish they put this car in Gran Turismo 5, i shouldnt complain i already have f4, and enzo but woulve been nice.

  • Definitely no doubt this is based on an F1 engine, especially considering the Murcielago's engine is based on an engine that actually pre-dates the Miura lol.

  • @C63AMGestate And that particular Lamborghini V12 was inspired by / ripped off from F1 designs itself; that is, Giotto Bizzarrini, an ex Ferrari engineer, designed it. Although it was never actually used in the spec originally laid out by Bizzarrini, as Sig. Lamborghini abhorred the "racing engines for the road" in Ferraris of the time.

  • @identiticrisis It certainly worked though!

  • whatever haters, I'm here now.

It was a crazy dyno experience.

  • love this car, see my Gt on the ring:

  • sounds like the turbo whirring down didnt realise the f50 gt had a supercharger or turbo in forza O_o loud and awesome sound though

  • @martoksneghvar You are a dumbass. It's naturally aspirated. It's the dyno spinning.

  • @martoksneghvar there is no supercharger you fucking retard get your shit straight

  • this is why it is my favorite ferrari

  • This thing is the fastest Ferrari made to date (other than the F1 cars). It is lighter than an FXX yet has the same power... It is even faster than the 333SP! Awesome car.

  • nice work bro ham . . . only took 4 years to get the waiver from Microsoft?

  • lol @ yugo

  • what the point in putting a car like this on a dyno.......

  • @britdemo there is no point other to put a load on it to record the sound of it, which is what they were doing. the sound has been used in some video games.

  • was this for a game... whats with all the mics ?

  • thats a formula one car with a f 50 body...

  • @ilovemunichbeer Surprised that you are the only one to mention this, but yeah you are pretty much right. The F50 GT1 has the engine from that years F1 car just slightly detuned for a bit more torque. Other then that there is very little that resembles the production F50.

  • yoGOES, the car is on a dyno. They are just taking sound bytes, the engine never saw redline, nowhere close. This particular car is not modified, so it should be factory output of 750BHP, 383 lb-ft of torque.

  • MY HOLY GOD!

  • 3rd gear pull, full load, Mustang 4WD dyno . . .

  • this video is of the F50 GT1, 1 of 3 made, this one the only one that still runs. This dyno run was solicited by MS for sounds for Forza Motorsport 3. Art Zafiropoulo owner of the the car and Ferrarri Silicon Valley "lent" MS and Streetwerke the car to record every sound the car was capable of making. We did door closes, door opens, starts, shut downs, harness clips . . .

These are two 10 second runs at 10,500 RPM.

for audio only, no preformance data were collected.

  • woot wtf, you added to vid? woot

  • erdero, Putting all the crap aside, I just want to thank you for posting such an awesome video. It really highlights Ferrari’s commitment to building the best performing cars the world will ever see.

  • @yoGOES hooray for accusations! i did take this video, and they weren't measuring for power. see all the microphones? they were recording the noise for PGR2 or 3 (don't remember). the sound has since been used in forza as well. so just because they weren't measuring for power doesn't mean i "stole" this video...

top doesn't come off. it's a race car.

  • @yoGOES except that that is a dyno and it is on it.

  • @erdero

    dy·na·mom·e·ter (dn-mm-tr)

    n.

Any of several instruments used to measure mechanical power.

so if it's on a dyno show the specs if it's not on a dyno say it's being recorded for noise.

  • @erdero execpt teh word dyno is for dynometer to measure the POWER DIPSHIT. fuckin moron change the title. since you didnt record the power change the name fuckin dumbass.

  • @hereHehereHE

he never said anything in the title about power measurements.....it says "ferrari f50 gt on the dyno"

it is a ferrari f50 gt and it is on a dyno so quit being a dipshit

  • @JeeperZJ dyno mean dynometer. it's a tool to measure power. the title says DYNO. sorry try again

  • @hereHehereHE

first it's dynamometer, second look it up before spewing junk out your mouth.....yes it is normally used to measure power however dyno's are also used for lots of other things such as engine tuning, measuring decibel levels, emissions testing etc, just because it says dyno everyone thinks power power power, no you're all wrong, dynos are used for more than just power so start thinking outside the box for once

  • @erdero totally right, MS for Forza 3, that was a 10 sec pull under full load @ 10,500 RPM

  • @erdero a race car u can buy :) I like

  • @erdero

Why do you put copyright: "ur name" when this video clearly isnt yours. There are other videos with this same footage that was uploaded years before yours. Stop stealing other people's videos and reposting them dickhead.

  • @scarface1224md

    where are the videos

  • @erdero

    ok

but why they did not use the full throttle? That monster has more than 700 hp at 10500 rpm, it seems that in this video they didn't even reach the 8000

  • @nabbestemmia we didn't want to blow it up. iirc we did 1000 lower than redline. That is pretty gnarly @ full load . . .

  • @stentorsoft

    ok thank you

I thought that the noise would be louder than this, revving 1000 lower than the redline...

  • @erdero The sound is perfect in PGR3 and PGR4, i wish GT5 used those technics :/

  • @JesperKyd47 No real sound, no soul, GT5 tends to suck hard in that department.

  • @erdero Its pgr3

  • @erdero thats awesome they used this in pgr4! i was wondering because in that game the f50 just sounds too fucking amazing, especially in the close chase cam you hear distortion (in a good way).

  • The mission objective was to capture all the *sounds* the car makes. Starts, stops, door open, door close, belt latch, belt release and also engine sounds from the LeMans configuration of ecu and exhaust.

The primary objective was to capture engine sound samples from 10,500 RPM down to about 5,000 RPM in 500 RPM increments, under load for 10 seconds.

That's me in the shorts running the dyno and speaking with the MS guy @ 45 sec . . .

    only 53 characters remain so I'll shut up . . .

  • @yoGOES go fuck yourself =)

  • Is this a street legal car ?

  • @GenuineLeather13 yeah :D

  • @hpidude No it isnt....its the prototype racing version of the street legal f50

  • I think that this is one of the best looking sports cars ever made.

  • There were a total of 349 F50's . Made between 1995 and 1997. They picked one less than 350 total cars to make them ultra rare.

  • Ferrari F40vsF50 BEST

  • DO WANT!

  • They were made to race. So please check your sources before posting a reply

  • thats right only 3 made but there are three tubs left at the factory waiting for someone with the patience and checkbook to own S/Ns 004, 005 and 006

  • can i ask what your source is on that?

  • Sent you a link

  • @erdero

It's widely known. You can even wikipedia it. Ferrari planned to race the GT1, and made additional cars for the program, but the program was cut short and 3 chassis were left uncompleted and are still in existence.

  • @erdero he's actually right. check out Ferrari's official website. under sport prototypes for the 90's the F50 GT is listed. it's true that they only built 3 full F50's and that they have the chassis for 3 more. some regular road going F50s have since been modified to some extenct of the F50 GT specification but not many. great video that car just sounds so incredible

  • @erdero Can you quit being a little prick? Yes, it is a rare car... Sick of little boys like you talking shit when your spoiled ass is just jealous and trying to find something stupid to complain about. Why would he change the title when clearly its a F50 on the dyno...nobody is interested in your stupid ass remarks and i guarantee you everyone here would kick you in the nuts if they met you. Thumbs up if you'd kick this little boys nuts into his throat for being a little prick that he his...

  • @Schinanigans wait, what?

  • @erdero ohh my bad, i meant to send this to the other guy, Sry!

  • @nicksgtr what do you mean by tubs?

  • @hereHehereHE

a tub is a bare chassis

  • @JeeperZJ what is the difference between a F50 and a GT1?

spoiler, hood, roof, and obviously the engine specs. but the engine is still the same block, you can make a F50 engine into a GT1 if you find out the lift on the cams, heads etc. is the chasis completely different?

or are you saying that in order for it to be considered a GT1 you have to buy a chasis from ferrari that was designed for a GT1?

if thats the case then where would you get the rest of the car from?

  • @hereHehereHE

everything is different in a ferrari f50 compared to an f50 gt.....the only similarities is that they used a similar engine however the gt version put out 200 more hp and was highly tuned to allow for high revs constantly.....other than that the cars have almost nothing in common besides their shape

  • @hereHehereHE The engine of the "normal" F50 is based off the 1992 (I think) V12 Ferrari Formula 1. The engine of the F50 GT IS the engine from the F1, nothing changed. So, I'd be astonished if somebody would make a GT1 engine out of a F50 engine.

  • @GTtuner56

Really nothing changed from an F1 car, funny it has a 4.7L Capacity then when the F1 cars were 3.5L V12s.

  • @Corona142 Sorry, I didn't verified my sources. Now I did. The engine is based of the 1990 F1 V12 engine, but over bored to 4.7L (the most they could). So it's false that it's THE F1 V12 of 1990, but true to say that it's based of it. =)

  • @nicksgtr those were destroyed

  • there's more than 3 F50 GT's

  • @TheCobruh

Unfortunately there are just 2, 1 was destroyed in an accident

  • @13harmful13 It was subsequently rebuilt by the factory.

  • @HPaillet pre sequentially / / /

  • there are only 3 F50 GT and one of this is the prototype!!

  • @FXXEVOLUZIONE i just can't imagine a manufacturer would make only a few cars of the same model.

  • no ...

  • the Ferrari F50 was made not to challange but only to try and to find innovation

  • 0:48

    Jean shorts.

  • dude if the dyno stoped idk wtf would happen you should try it on your car and make a video

  • imagine if the dyno stops.

  • hey what is that yellow circle on the front of the car? and what does it do?

  • that yellow circle is for towing the car , you can attach a chain onto it , they are on all racing cars , btw thanks for this video erdero , this is brilliant!

  • cool! thanks!

  • I always thought that it was a the license for a racing car LOL.

  • awesome vid.

we did 10 second pulls in 500 RPM increments from 10,500 down to about 4,500 . . .

    wow

  • this is the best video I have seen from the "closed" Forza tapings @ Streetwerke . . .

The best audio by far . . .

That's me running the dyno, Mark Price from MS Game Studio, my boss driving the car.

    Great video !!!

    Outrageous !!!!

  • they were made for competition racing but never finished ;) because they were going to focus on the F1

  • how come they only made 3?? something 2 do with GT1 regulations??

  • they were produced in the year 1996

and 3 years later they won again a title after 16 years

  • Is that possible? there have only been 3 made and i doubt that they would let someone redline it for 25 seconds...?

  • They didn't care, and dropped the project anyway. Customers can do whatever with the car, but to agree with Ferrari's terms, they weren't allowed to enter them in any major racing events.

  • I'm well aware that they can do what they wan t with the cars im just saying are we sure its an F50GT b/c there were only 3 made and i have a SUPER hard time believing that they would let them do that to a piece of history.

  • First its a sports car and secondly while it is a beautifull car it isnt the Gioconda. If something breaks down on it it can be fixed and who can afford the price tag can easily afford to have it fixed.

  • Comment removed

  • @tufmandan wastn redline

  • they only made 3 because they were going to focus on the F1 that year

  • baby!

  • I got my name from the FXX

  • what i want to know is why did ferrari only make 3 F50GT's?

  • I'm guessing that the car was created around the same time that Michael Schumacher, Ross Brawn, and Rory Byrne joined the team. I think it was because they were shifting their focus on Formula One that year and didn't want to devote anymore resources to it.

  • @mike

the FXX can but only on tracks with a really long straight line ;) so only his top is beter ;)

  • an FXX could never outclass an F50 GT, why? the FXX was purposely built to try out prototype equipment, and was filled with the most alien shit technology from that time, everything in the fucking thing had a blackbox strapped to it and owners can't even drive it out of specially arranged racing days, the F50 GT was purposely built to pull lap times but later on pulled out of the circuit

  • the 7:35 vs the 7:40 is because the top of the FXX is a bit higher

  • it out performs the FXX easy, it is the 1994 Ferrari F1 engine in a stripped F50 with a hard top roof it gots 730 HP made for the FIA GT races but ferrari focused on the F1 that year so sold the 3 prototypes

  • Is it true that one of them was actually wrecked by a customer and sent back to him rebuilt by Ferrari with a retuned engine pumping 900+ HP?

  • bit of a strange story because and F1 engine is hard to tune ;) because they were made for the limit, and they cost around 5 mil each so i think a customer would be carefull with it ^^

  • I'm not sure about that last bit, I'm certain that one guy did wreck an F50GT.

  • this is better than the horniest sound a woman could ever produce...seriously..

my god..the low revs ahhhh :P LOL excuse me if I come over a bit nasty but this thing is the SHIT

  • This car just rapes.

  • I'm dying to know whether this would keep-up-with or even out perform the FXX. It IS 600lbs lighter. Or even the 641/2 F1 car. So little information evrywhere.

  • Well on Forza 2 (Racing Sim) it murders the FXX. but thats just a game

  • Depending on the track, on a small track where power is scarcely needed but handling triumphs F50gt, But on nurburgring. FXX beat the F50, How do i know?

    because i did it.

    Fxx- 7:35 f50- 7:40

on leguna seca. damn. i got owned.

  • I heard the f50 gt made better laptimes than the fxx is doing...

  • It beat the 333 SP around their test track.

  • rumor has it that it would in fact beat the fxx.

  • saund F1 car:X:X

  • ohh my looooord..this is The sound for a supersportcar...luwit!!

  • that thing will kill allmost everything on the track, what a amazing machine

  • this car and the fxx will own anything

  • i can drive this car in PGR 3

  • It sounds the same aswell!!

  • holy shiiiit!!!

  • I really like car, no traction control, ABS, no on board computer or stability programs, but I love it, to bad it is not street legal.

  • It sounds like a high power saw, amazing!

  • Having this car as a dream car kinda sucks, because even if you were rich as hell. You still couldn't get one :*(

  • Man that sounds beaituful.

  • Nice vid. Is the whistling type noise in the background at 1:19-1:23 the racing transmission??

  • it's either that or something with the dyno.

  • That's what I was thinkin... Do you know how much power the car had at the time of the dyno??

  • it's officially rated at 750, but they didn't actually run it on they dyno to test the power. you can see the microphones around it; it was being recorded for PGR3.

  • Okay because I heard the car smashed the wall in '04, and repaired to be 900 bhp+. I guess my final question is, do you know if this vid was recorded before the first crash? Sorry if I'm getting on your nerves :).

  • he let the gas off the car and let it idle for a few

  • It sounds like it has straight cut gears, which make a high pitched whistling noise, also the slicks will make a lot of noise on the rollers - its a combination of the two that you can hear.

  • that high sound is the differential, the power that is going through that makes it noisy :P

  • Id say that sound is the rollers on the dyno actually...

  • people who say the new nissan gtr can beat any car obviously has never seen this since i believe that this or the new fxx is the best ferrari ever made

  • This is a race car, which means it cannot be registered as a public automobile in practically every jurisdiction with traffic laws.

Also, anybody with fine taste with always agree that the 250 GTO and F40 were Ferrari's finest, uncontested.
